Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Ground / Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Tera Blast
- Giga Drain / Psychic
- U-turn

instead of needing to set up qds to get faster, volc becomes faster from the get go w choice scarf. with scarf + timid nature, volc hits 492 speed, notably outspeeding mons such as zama, weavile, and max +1 kyurem.

fiery dance allows volc to potentially snowball through teams (if luck is in ur favor) via continuously boosting its spa stat. tera blast is near mandatory coverage to hit mons that can't be dented by fiery dance; tera ground is notable for ohkoing flash fire heatran while tera dragon handles dnite. (wip will finish later)

Overheat + Eject Pack is a great combination, allowing Volcarona to switch out with strong damage. Tera Blast Ground or Bug Buzz depends on the team. You can choose your preferred recovery option between Morning Sun or Giga Drain. Tera Ground or Grass if you pick either Tera Blast or Giga Drain. QD for setup.

Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Ground / Water / Fairy
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance / Fire Blast

- Substitute

Substitute provides temporary cushioning against status and priority, and generates free setup opportunities as the opponent attempts to break it, and Volcarona's typing and strong offensive presence give it plenty of opportunities to set one up on a predicted switch.

Heavy-Duty Boots is the obvious choice for an item, but if you're unable to fit Giga Drain, Leftovers or an HP-restoring berry might be worth considering if your hazard control is strong enough.

An interesting option to consider with this set is running Tera Bug and Swarm. With careful planning, Substitute allows Volcarona to safely enter Swarm range, boosting the power of its Bug Buzz to absurd heights when backed by Quiver Dance boosts, with Tera Bug taking it even further. Be aware that by doing this, you sacrifice most, if not all of the defensive utility that Volcarona provides, and limit yourself strictly to late-game cleaning.

Rain Dance, Solar Beam, Tera Blast Water. Either ability works, but Swarm is probably better for niche bug buzz cases. Pretty self-explanatory. Modest can be used for more damage, and Damp Rock for longer time, but I prefer to use Timid for speed and Life Orb for consistent damage.

This Pokémon is great offensively and have some useful resistances. It works best against passive Pokémon like Gliscor where it can fiery dance to boost its spA, then tera water to KO or rest talk to remove a toxic and heal back up. I've also EV'd it to outspeed and OHKO Great tusk with max HP EVs after a tera and no boost:

208 SpA Tera Fairy Volcarona Tera Blast (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Great Tusk: 434-512 (100 - 117.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Since no sets have any spDef investments i decided just to use the scenario for if there was a defensive or utility Great Tusk. Even while running the speed booster, Tusk would still lose in a 1v1 vs Volcarona since it can live one headlong rush at full speed:

252 Atk Great Tusk Headlong Rush vs. 44 HP / 104 Def Tera Fairy Volcarona: 243-286 (75.4 - 88.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

This set would probably work well in a hazard stack team for its reliability against Great Tusk, granted that you don't care too much for burning your tera, but it would also work well with a sticky web HO, since the 301 speed outspeeds everything in the tier with the exception of Deo-S, and its longevity would probably allow it to work well in a bulky offense team as well. As most Volcaronas do (unless running tera ground/dragon), this set will struggle against offensive gouging fires. It will also struggle against other Volcaronas, roaring moon and maybe Zamazenta, but it excels at the endgame against things like Kingambit if it terastallizes fairy to resist sucker punch, then KO with fiery dance.

I have tried to built a team around this gimmick set, and ended up with this bulky offense team that works very well with the longevity of Volcarona as a bulky attacker. I got two replays ignore my skill issue that show off Volcarona's good endgame, granted I had a bit of luck in one of them.

Breaking Swipe Dragonite
:sv/dragonite:
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Normal/Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Breaking Swipe
- Roost
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed/Earthquake/Ice Spinner
I really wanted to do my stall dragonite, but I thought I should be a bit more creative. This is basically the gouging fire set replaced on dragonite, however it has some better traits. Multiscale means that it will always be able to get a dd off, allowing it to start being a nuisance to anything on the physical side. Breaking swipe of course lowers the opponents attack stat and due to multiscale, it can comfortably do this quite often. Roost allows dragonite to keep itself healthy over the course of a battle. Dragon dance allows it to boost itself consistently and become a threatening sweeper. Extreme speed gives priority to dragonite, meaning it doesn't have to invest in speed as much to take down targets such as waterpon, allowing for more investment in hp and attack. You can swap this out for either earthquake to hit steel typs or ice spinner to deal with gliscor. Tera normal boosts the power of e-speed and gives dragonite a good defensive typing, while tera poison means gliscor cannot poison you and stall you out.

:Dragonite:
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale

EVs: 136 HP / 4 Atk / 140 Def / 136 SpD / 92 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Wing Attack
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Tail / Roar

With this Nature and EVs, Dragonite can take down Iron Valiant and Waterpon with Wing Attack + Extreme Speed.
The bulk guarantees the switch into Waterpon (Play Rough 28.2 - 33.3 % + 56.3 - 66.3%), as well as Kyurem Timid Specs Freezy-Dry 84.5 - 99.7% and Draco Meteor 78.1 - 91.8%.
Wing Attack has 56 PPs and doesn't miss like Hurricane. Wing Attack + Extreme Speed calculations;
Iron Valiant 70.3 - 82.7% + 31 - 36.5%
Ogerpon-W 70.4 - 83.7% + 31.5 - 37.2%
Volcarona 83.6 - 99% + 37.2 - 44%

Minimum Roll and no Tera. Regarding Tera, Fire gives immunity to burn from WoW Dragapult and Flame Body Volcarona. If you are feeling unlucky or the victim of a matchup with Volcarona Fairy you can use Roar. Tera Normal only give a bonus for Extreme Speed.
Speed to be faster than Jolly Kingambit, you won't use Dragonite as an answer, but you don't want to take Flinch from Iron Head.

paralyze foes w thunder wave to cripple them and phaze them out w dragon tail afterward; the combination of multiscale and roost is especially helpful in this role to greatly expand dnites longevity. max defense + impish nature helps vs phys attackers like :kingambit:, :zamazenta:, and opposing :Dragonite:. tera steel lets dnite resist ice, dragon, and fairy attacks and resist stealth rock if its :heavy-duty-boots: get knocked off.

Choice Band

:sv/dragonite:
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Tera Type: Normal
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Fire Punch / Thunder Punch

With a Choice Band, Dragonite sacrifices protection from hazards and the ability to switch moves in return for more immediate power. Extreme Speed backed by Tera Normal is a force to be reckoned with as always, while the coverage moves are fairly standard -- Earthquake hits most Steel-types and is one of Dragonite's strongest options against the likes of Skeledirge or Gouging Fire, while Ice Spinner hits Gliscor and Landorus-T.

Since this set isn't running Dragon Dance or any utility moves, it can fit a fourth attacking move. Fire Punch hits Steel-types that aren't threatened by Earthquake, such as Corviknight, Skarmory, or Gholdengo with an unpopped Air Balloon. Thunder Punch, on the other hand, is Dragonite's strongest option against Primarina, while still allowing it to hit the metal birds super-effectively.

The given EV spread outspeeds Adamant Kingambit, while also ensuring that Dragonite's HP is not divisible by 4.

Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance/Roost
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch/Roost
Ice, Fairy and Dragon, and to a lesser extent Fighting, are all very prevalent. They are all it's weaknesses. Or they were. Now, it's an advantage. Tera Normal is good for activating on fighting types while buffing ESpeed. Roost can be slotted in to try and do it multiple times, but it is more niche. It's fun when we get to +3 Atk and +1 Speed!

Mixed Dragonite
:dragonite:
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 160 SpA / 96 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Hurricane
- Ice Beam / Flamethrower / Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
- Roost / Dragon Dance / Scale Shot

Mixed Dragonite utilizes Dragonite's insane movepool to lure in its extremely common physically bulky checks and OHKO them with a SE special move. Boots and Multiscale are no-brainers for Dragonite, and Tera Normal is used to power up Dragonite's already strong Extremespeed. The spread allows Dragonite to outspeed all Kingambit and neutral natured Primarina with maximized Attack and the rest of the EVs dumped into Special Attack. A Naughty nature is chosen for stronger Espeeds and because Dragonite doesn't need the Special Attack investment. A Brave Nature is an option if your team doesn't fear Kingambit all that much. The moveset is very customizable to the team, but Espeed is a must-have on most Dragonite for its revenge-killing potential while Hurricane allows you to OHKO 252 HP Tusk. Ice Beam hits Gliscor and Lando-T who are also common Dragonite checks. Flamethrower (or Fire Blast) hits Kingambit and Gholdengo hard without having to worry about Air Balloon, but Earthquake can still hit them (eventually) while also hitting stuff like G-King and Heatran really hard. The last slot is a utility pick depending on what you want Dragonite to do for your team. Roost gives it some longevity so it can break a little bit more while Dragon Dance and Scale Shot both increase Dragonite's sweeping potential. Note that another coverage move (like Flamethrower or EQ) could be run in this slot too.

160 SpA Dragonite Hurricane vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Great Tusk: 458-542 (105.5 - 124.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

160 SpA Dragonite Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 174-206 (51 - 60.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

160 SpA Dragonite Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gholdengo: 164-194 (43.3 - 51.3%) -- 59% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

160 SpA Dragonite Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 364-432 (95.2 - 113%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

160 SpA Dragonite Ice Beam vs. 244 HP / 16 SpD Gliscor: 376-444 (106.8 - 126.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

160 SpA Dragonite Ice Beam vs. 244 HP / 228+ SpD Gliscor: 272-320 (77.2 - 90.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Ability: Multiscale

EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Waterfall

The key of the set is Thunder Wave to spread some Spe control that is very good alongside Waterfall, a Water move that hits supereffectively Ground pokemons immune to Electric, and also have a 20% additional flinch chance. Earthquake is for coverage.
Roost + HDB (with Multiscale) is here to have more longevity.
The EVs spread is a bulky defensive one, with 8 Spe EVs to outpace uninvested base 80 Spe.
