I've been thinking about the magic type and its long term effects without my sister types.
For a reference,
this is my type chart and for better reference, an
earlier version that even predates Gen5.
TBH, with just one of those types in, it'd be interesting to see how things play out.
That said, a few thoughts on things...
Smite feels weird. I always saw it as a light (electric) type special version of Focus Punch where the user prays to some deity that might not be catchable, and if undisturbed, will deliver retribution.
A few of my versions of attacks:
Magic Missile, a special attack version clone of Water Shuriken.
Battle Regalia, splendors the user in a durable wizard robe, raising defense and SpAtk 1 level.
Wand Strike, 80 Power (Phys), 100 Acc. Has a 20% chance to burn or confuse the target.
Vanishing Act, if struck by the enemy, user takes no damage and can freely switch to a new target. This target will have the defense type that was struck at increased by 1 upon being brought in. Does nothing if enemy doesn't attack.
Card Strike The user draws a card from 8 - A, dealing more damage the higher the card's value. This, in short, is a magical version of Magnitude, meaning drawing a 10 (70 Power) is most common. Physical damage.
Null Zone - Clears your field of Hazards and ends the weather. 5 PP, no damage.
Poof - Special Magic type quick attack.
Simulacrum - Sets up a Substitute with 1/3 of the user's health instead of 1/4. 5 PP.
Non-Magic type moves:
Biproduct - Creates a rotting, putrid version of the user to take hits at 1/5 of the user's health. Until it's removed, all pokemon that aren't bug or poison types take 1/16 health per turn unless they have the Aroma Veil Ability to remove the odor. (poison type)
Thunderclap - Electric Clone of Earthquake in damage, PP, power and by being physical and hitting diggers really hard. Is blocked by Soundproof and has surprisingly diverse availability.
Pixie Sting - Physical Fairy type Quick Attack.
Gold Rush and Quicksilver - 2 Steel moves that are physical and special clones of Extremespeed respectively.
Boulderdash - Physical Rock Quick Attack
Liquid Limestone - Special Rock move with 90 Power, 100 Accuracy and 15 PP. Deals 50% more damage while it's raining.
Forest Fire - Special fire move with 75 power and 15 PP. When used by Grass types, deals 50% more damage. Has 10% burn chance. Note, Fire/Grass dual types don't get 2 STAB boosts.
Dragon Punch - Physical Fighting move with 75 power and 15 PP that does 50% more damage when used by dragon types. Dragon/Fight doesn't double the 'STAB.'
Spoon Bender - A clone of freeze dry, but Psychic type with Super Effective damage against Steel and a 10% confuse chance instead of freeze.
Shortcurcuit - Like Freeze dry, but water type with Super Effect damage against Electric. Has a 10% paralyze chance. (Surprisingly available to a number of electric types.)
That's all I have for now. Mind not my ramblings.
I'll soon post ideas from of my regions.
