Tag Battle! Banryu & Nyx VS rewindman & Shadoo (Subref: Wyverii)

Alright, guess I'm up. Guess who, boys! NOW WE GET SERIOUS! Go, Eoleo!

nautacur2.png

Start things off with a Smokescreen against our opponents. They won't see you coming, if I can help it! Then strike Rhyhorn with a Waterfall attack. Keep up the pressure on him with a second Waterfall.

Smokescreen >>> Waterfall >>> Waterfall

Allright Myrmeleon, it's time to buy Unicron some time to put our mutual plan into effect... dig yourself into a shallow hole, just enough to avoid that smokescreen (which hardly affects you anyway, seeing as your eyesight is so awful in the first place) and entrench that squid thing in a Sand Tomb, by using your epick sense of vibrations to locate him! Keep him stuck and trapped in there! If my guess is correct, Eolo's first Waterfall will break him out of the Sand Tomb, though... but by that time Unicron should be able to put our plan into effect... Use your next action to Bite down on him and keep him stuck in the hole for now; if he breaks out of the trap before you get the chance to, Sand enTomb him again! Finally, finish out the round by dumping a Rock Slide over as much of the area as you can, hitting Eolo, Helios, and as many chargestones as possible!

Sand Tomb on Privatyke > Bite-trap Privatyke or Sand Tomb again > Rock Slide on everything

((EDIT: Quick question here, slightly echoing rewindman... who exactly gets the KO counters for everyone that got knocked out on that last turn?))

So sorry guys, sortof forgot about this.

Anyway, Helios, I need you to keep away from the ryhorn as much as possible, since you are painfully weak to it. Utilize the smokescreen as an advantage to avoid attacks. His rock attacks are already inaccurate, hopefully you'll be safe within the smoke. I want you to Willow Wisp that rhyhorn, burn it so its attacks hurt a lot less. From there, fire off another Willow Wisp at trapinch if he is out of his hole. if not, go ahead and scorch that little bugger's hole with Fire Blast. He should be near the surface preparing for that bite attack, so take advantage of it. Finally, Fire blast rhyhorn, he may resist your attack, but his special defense isn't that great, so it should do some damage. Note, if any willow wisp misses on rhyhorn, fire another one at him, because we need him burned at all cost.

Willow Wisp (Rhyhorn) - Willow Wisp/Fire Blast (Trapinch) - Fire Blast (Ryhorn)
If Willow wisp misses in ryhorn, keep using willow wisp on him until he is burned.

Mwahaha, time to wreck some shit, Rhyhorn! Start by rushing towards the Chargestones near Privatyke! Get near them so that their attacks can hit the stones as well! Its okay if you hit a few of them, too! Now I want you to cause an earthquake! However, if he waterfalls you, I want you to Counter that Waterfall attack! As for the last action, since Privatyke will be near you now, how about we stomping the chargestones around you, causing electricity to injure Eoleo the Privatyke!

Move onto chargestones near Privatyke>Cause an Earthquake/counter if hit with waterfall> Stomp the chargestones nearby to shock Privatyke(hopefully)/Counter if hit with waterfall

To answer the question about KO tokens the guides don't mention it (something else to add) however in other double battles only the Pokémon that gets the last hit gets the KO counter, which means at current George has a single KO counter and Myr has 2 KO counters. This might change in future but for now it seems to be the precident.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was quite a round! The competitors scramble to safely return their injured Pokémon and replace them with their fresh companions. First out is Unicron the Rhyhorn, released a short distance away from the chargestones where Myr is trying to hide. Second is Helios the Larvesta released quite some distance away at the other side of the cave, glowing red slightly and mixing in with the blue glow from the stones. Finally Eoleo the Privatyke is let loose a short distance away from Helios. Not seen one of these guys yet. Now it's time for-

Round 4, fight!

Taking his eyes off Myr, the Garvantula turns and leaps across the cave landing on Eoleo and slashing at him with his legs. While the little Privatyke deals with that Helios gets straight to work and leads off by blowing small blue flames across the area. They invade Unicron's rocky skin and cause some serious internal burns making Unicron look quite ill and weak. Having just got the Garvantula off him by jabbing him with his sword Eoleo makes his way towards his opponents, spraying ink out of his mouth on the way. Blinded a bit Unicron heads towards the large blue structure where Myr is while Myr digs down and attempts to trap the approaching Privatyke in the ground.

Hissing at Eoleo the spider fires a strange beam at him. Eoleo barely feels a thing and keeps marching on, struggling his way out of the ground. Helios tries the same trick on Myr, however his aim is off and it misses the gap in the ground where Myr is currently residing. No doubt fed up being interrupted all the time Eoleo summons water from beneath the sinking ground and uses it to blast his way out of the trap, slamming into Unicron and causing him to jerk back and smack the large chargestone behind him. The stone rings a clear tone and discharges a huge shockwave, safely passing through both Unicron and Myr and smacking Eoleo for a huge amount of damage. No- oh god. Another Garvanula appeared. I think it's the mate of the current one and she looks ticked off. She fires sticky webbing around the chargestones where Eoleos, Myr and Unicron are.

Ignoring the newcomer Unicron absorbs the energy from the most recent attack he took and slams right back into Eoleos knocking him back and getting his leg stuck in webbing in the process. Myr then digs through to the little pirate and bursts out, biting him and trying to drag him back into his trap. Would not want to be Eoleos right now, he is taking a serious beating.

The two Garvantulas converge around the stones, the female blasting a paralyzing shockwave at Unicron that has no effect and the male shivering rapidly charging his muscles to increase his speed. Helios, who's avoided all the commotion so far digs his little feet down and blasts a 5 pronged shape of fire towards Unicron hitting him dead on and burning away all the webs in the area. Eoleos breaks free from Myr by using more pressurised water to propel himself towards Unicron. Myr has to let go to prevent himself being hit by water and Unicron gets slammed into the stone again causing it to ring weakly but cause no damage. Unicron, right up next to the stone, slams it with his horn but again it has no effect. Myr, not intending to let Eoleo away grabs chunks of rock in his jaws and flings them at him slamming him and nearly causing him to topple over.

(I hate to be a downer but I believe I targeted both Privatyke and Larvesta with that Rock Slide attack. D: )

Allright, Myrmeleon, time to end this! Nail Eolo with a solid Quick Attack, and keep that up until he goes down! When the little squid is out of the way, back off and just chill out for the remainder of the round... Two against one isn't cool, so we'll just let Unicron and Helios go at it, man to man. (Or... er... rhino to larva? o___O) I'm sure Nyx will be okay with that, what with you being low on energy and having nabbed nearly all the KOs up to this point. =w=

Quick Attack until Privatyke is KO'd > Chill remainder of round

Alright Helios, this does not look good... if Privatyke goes down, this is all over. Since trapinch is trying to finish off our ally, I need you to do something drastic. Intercept trapinch's quick attack, acting as a human (or I should say pokemon) shield to prevent the attack. This will allow privatyke to successfully pull off his attack against rhydon, bringing him closer to KO range. Hopefully, you're flame Body ability will activate, burning trapinch. From there, try to finish it off with Fire Blast straight at Rhydon. Follow it up with another FireBlast if Rhydon is still not KO'd, else use Willow Wisp on trapinch while he chills (Unless he's already burned, then just fireblast). If for some reason your first action is not possible (privatyke is KO'd or something) or it fails, just use fire blast repeatedly on rhydon.

Intercept trapinch's attack - Fire Blast (Rhydon) - Fire Blast (Rhydon if he is not KO'd, Trapinch if Rhydon is KO'd and Trapinch is Burned)/ Willow Wisp (Trapinch if not burned)

If first action not possible, Fire Blast rhydon three times

Alright, Unicron, shits hit the fan. I think Trapinch has got that little squid bastard so lets deal with the twerpy bug,eh?

While it spits its little coal lets blast away with a Rock Tomb to hurt him and trap him in the boulders! Next hit him with a powerful Rock Blast! Follow up with another Rock Blast! HYPER OFFENSE GOOOooo!
But if Privatyke somehow survives to attack, make sure to COUNTER his attack if its physical!

Rock Tomb Larvesta>Rock Blast Larvesta>Rock Blast Larvesta
COUNTER IF PHYSICALLY ATTACKED BY PRIVATYKE

... I'm not even going to complain. I'm going to scream instead. *ahem* FUCK MY CHOICE OF ARENA, I KNEW IT WOULD BITE ME IN THE ASS!

Ok, that's out of my system... Um, I guess we lose. No matter what, Eoleo's going down this turn... OH WAIT. Hey, Eoleo, I forgot you had Recover, man :) Recover twice, and Waterfall against Rhyhorn.

Recover >>> Recover >>> Waterfall.

SUCK IT!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Round 5, fight!

Myr wastes no time starting the round by jumping forward and ramming Eoleo with a super speed attack then settles down into the ground to rest for a while. It was weak but it was enough to bring the bruised and battered little squid to the ground for a long nap! Son_of_Shadoo is out! The Garvantula's then set to work, the female once again spreading her webs all over Unicron while the male twitches and makes a gigantic and speedy leap across the cave to reach Helios, slashing at him with his claws in the process. Helios seems a little discuraged that another insect would attack him of his own free will but shakes it off and blasts more scorching fire at Unicron, once again unintentially doing him a favour of burning the webs off him. Unicron responds by stamping the ground with precision and bringing down rocks on Helios' head.

The female Garvantula seems to be keeping her distance still and fires off a confusing signal at the resting Myr nearby. The other keeps on Helios, perhaps angered at having their webbing burned and brings down both legs repeatedly on him. Trapped and still wriggling out of the rocks Helios can't do much as Unicron digs deep into the ground and throws five chunks of rocks ontop of him to keep the pressure on, even if the throws are weaker than usual. Helio's breathes more flames at Unicron, getting the Garvantula to back off as well and give him some space.

Acid is suddenly sprayed onto Helio's from afar! The female spider seems to feel threatened by all the fire. The acid doesn't seem to actually hurt though and instead seems to be working on his skin and dulling his radiant red glow. The male spider, no longer wanting to be so close to the fire bug has changed targets and instead skitters over to Myr and starts biting him. Unicron, now glowing red hot from the flames his body is repeatedly taking musters up the strength to dig out some more rocks to throw, three this time. Helios, however, now only just out of the trap finishes Unicron off with a final blast of flames, finally causing his rocky skin to crack under repeated heating and cooling. NyxNocturne is out! Will Helios be able to take out Myr and Banryu's second mon? Lets find out!

Rock Slide missed the Larvesta last turn due to him being far away and in the opposite direction from how Myrmeleon was facing the Privatyke. I do not consider Rock Slide to be as wide range a move as Earthquake or Surf so he could only hit one and not the other. Field positioning matters!
Quick Attack hits long before anybody can do anything, not only is it a priority attack but Myr is pretty much right next to Eoleo.
Fire Blast removes webbing, again.
4 burn dmg to Rhyhorn.
Larvesta's speed drop returns to normal at end of turn.

Alright Helios, we can still do this. Keep your distance from everyone and use Willow Wisp to burn trapinch. Since it came will out if its hole for that quick attack, you should be able to finish it off! Then use Morning Sun to heal off the damage. If trapinch decides to protect the first turn, go ahead and reverse this order. If trapinch digs underground, use Morning Sun again (or chill if you don't have enough energy) However, is trapinch is well in view for an attack, finish it with a Fire Blast!
Willow Wisp/ Morning Sun
(if protect) - Morning Sun / Willow Wisp (if first time failed) - Fire Blast/ Morning Sun/ Chill (morning sun if trapinch is underground, chill if not enough energy)

WELL. THAT was certainly an interesting turn of events. :0 It looks like this is up to us...

Allright, Myrm, they're trying to outmaneuver us, so we're gonna break their defensive line and attack'em head on! Crush Helios (and block that Will-O-wisp, if possible) with a towering Rock Slide! Then unleash another Earthquake throughout the cavern (hopefully that'll scare off our no longer welcome guests, in addition to damaging Helios). Then finish out the round with another Rock Slide!! It's time to END this!

Rock Slide > Earthquake > Rock Slide

Round 6, fight!

Match starts off with the female Garvantula releasing some electric waves towards Myr, they have no effect of course. The male howver goes for a slightly more effective bite on Helios before backing off completely. Helios, still ignoring his angry kin produces some blues flames from the tips of his firey mane and directs them towards Myr who has no choice but to take the ghostly fire full force. He throws some chunks of rock back for good measure then digs down a bit to prepare for a bigger attack.

The Garvantulas, maybe sensing imminent danger all suddenly pile onto Myr, biting and slashing at him in a frantic manner characteristic to untrained Pokémon. Helios settles down and glows as bright as he can, not much sun down here but he does recover a little bit. Myr, weakened by his burned insides sets off a weaker quake than usual, pushing the spiders back a bit and hurting Helios. The spiders immediately return to wailing on Myr, one even throwing up on him! Ew... They jump back just in time to dodge Helios' final fire attack which hits Myr dead on and finishes him off. Myrmeleon had one hell of a run here. Who will Banryu choose next?

...Hmm. Guess I underestimated Helios there. I thought Myrmeleon would be able to finish him regardless... But, the spiders, eh. Well that's just fine for us! Go, Aether!
4.png

If it came to this, I had planned to let you rest and recover so that our Fire-types could have a fair fight... but given the circumstances, I think it might be kinder to simply end this now for everybody. Aether, wave your tail in a wide arc to keep those Galvantula at bay, then finish off Helios with your mighty Ancientpower!

Ancientpower x3

(If waving the tail around counts as an action, then:
Wave tail around to scare spiders > Ancientpower x2)

Alright Helios, it was fun while it lasted, but looks like we're not getting out of this one. Just go ahead and Fire Blast until you are tired, then Chill.

Fire Blast - Chill - Chill

Round 7, fight!

Banryu releases Aether, a plucky little Charmander raring to go. He starts off by waving his tail threateningly at the Garvantulas. They back off a bit and after a short pause stalk away, their interest in the battle completely gone now with two fire types around. Helios, lookin' tired and bruised attempts to breathe more of his now trademark flames at Aether but his aim is off and it fades off somewhere to the left of Aether. Ather not at all scared of Helios pulls his little hands in and concentrates a bit, then pushes his hands out and summons shards or rock and energy from beneath Helios knocking him clean out.

Team Banryu and Nyxnocturne wins! Congratulations!

Comments and rewards:

Good match guys. The arena allowed for some very strange and random events. Had it not been for those Garvantulas the match could have swung in a completely different direction. Best in match goes to Myrmeleon for surviving for so long and netting a huge amount of KO counters.

To the battlers the spoils!

All participants: Banryu's Trapinch and Charmander, Nyxnocturne's Turtwig and Rhyhorn, rewindman's Eevee and Larvesta and Son_of_Shadoo's Lickitung and Privatyke all recieve 1EC, 1MC and 1EC token each!

In addition:
Banryu's Trapinch recieves 3 KO tokens.
Banryu's Charmander recieves 1 KO token.
Son_of_Shadoo's Lickitung recieves 1 KO token.
rewindman's Larvesta recieves 2 KO tokens.

Charmander, 65 spe, Blaze (2atk/def, 4spa, 1 spd)
Swings Tail: Scares Garvantulas away, 2 energy.
Ancient Power: ((6 + ((4 - 1) 1.5) 2.25), 24 dmg, 4 energy.

Larvesta, 60 spe, Flame Body (3atk/spa, 2def, 1spd)
Fire Blast: Misses, 7 energy.
Chill: KOed

Wild Garvantula
Scared away.

Wild Garvantula 2
Scared away.

Considering how close the match is to over I choose to remove the Garvantula's completely to speed up reffing. If the same action was performed mid-match it would have affected contact attacks the Garvantulas use only.

Aether snorts and stomps around unhappily... he seems unsatisfied with how easy his victory came. It seems he wants to take on Helios in an uninterrupted 1v1 match some other time, perhaps.

Props and slops! :D

Props:
- Shadoo for putting a huge amount of pressure on both Nyx's team and my own with powerful supereffective attacks (take it as a compliment that we ganged up on you)
^ George the Lickitung for being a staunch competitor in general
- Shine the Eevee for being significantly more useful than I expected (those Helping Handed attacks hurt! Dx)
- Unicron the Rhyhorn for exploiting a number of factors to nearly KO Eolo the Privatyke in a single round
- Myrmeleon the Trapinch, of course, for killing like everyone LOL.
EDIT - Ocrap. D: I forgot Wyverii! Mad props to her of course, she did an excellent job.
EDIT - gonna edit in props for Nyx for being a pretty solid teammate too. :3

Slops:
- the first Galvantula for having such intent, single-mindedly violent feelings toward poor Shine the Eevee
- Shadoo and rewindman for failing to give the proper amount of attention to the devourer of worlds that is Myrmeleon the Trapinch >w>

First off, I just want to totally thank Banryu for executing a flawless battle strategy. I may not have got the KOs but we got the win.(Plus I'm totally happy his Trapinch evolved!)
Next, I want to thank Shadoo and RewindMan for being great opponents. Trust me when I say I was scared shitless of all of your pokemon the whole match(God Dat Lickitung..)
Next, I want to thank Wyverii for totally being the best ref ever in existence and being generous enough to take this over after Midou had to abscond.
THANKS EVERYONE.

Thanks to everyone for this awesome match! Especially Wyverii for being such an awesome ref. Hope to battle again sometime!

DAT Lickitung indeed. You're lucky I didn't decide to evolve him until after this began. Shit is now real.

But thanks for an amazing match! I seriously didn't expect Eoleo to almost get KOd in a single round! Jesus, that was one hell of a move.

Thanks to Wyv for sub-reffing again, and I hope to face y'all soon.

EDIT: We all gain 2 TCs, right?
