fucked up on the landt set on luchagar, meant to withdraw bulky rocker from box
cant do clef cuz 0 water resists. i have like 3 mons that outspeed and kill keld but having a switchin is still ncie
also feel free to use w/e spread and or set on any mon. try alexwolf's spread for vest kyub i dont use that shit mon/set often
so I was helping this guy out in the rmt section with his DragMag squad (heavy emphasis on drag...), started out p shitty but after fiddlin with it I think I managed to work up somthing decent enough... brought it here cuz I normally only build bulky offense/balance nd stall teams, not ho, so there's probably something that could be tweaked somewhere... anyway as long as nothing is burned it literally 2hkos the entire unboosted meta after rocks so thats nb... anyway here it is for review:
I guess what you could do to buffer against the ninja weakness is use lead terrakion and assault vest kyurem (works quite nicely as vest cube lures out latios and can take a draco and KO back making life much easier for the rest of your team) over keldeo and chomp. Tran might be a bit more of an issue but could be migitated by running HP Ground over psyshock or healing wish.
Overall, I would say opposing garde are more of a problem than ninja though atm. Not sure how to fix that.
aight so I dislike using scarf magneton unless I absolutely have to and I was p sure I could find a way around that somehow and voila:
since offensive mons typically get fucked by greninja and I really dislike weak frail shit like Scarf Keldeo (which still can't switch in anyway) I thought I'd find a mon to support the others... so I briefly thought of sticky web before deciding that idea was total dicks and looked to tailwind, but both priority tailwind users can't switch in to ninja for shit, and it turns out tailwind suicune is a thing in vgc/doubles so I just nabbed that set replacin protect w/ hp fire for Ferro in case mag was gone for some reason w/out much regard to tailoring it to ou (although I think sitrus is fine since lefties is too passive imo for a team like this) but the evs max out power (almost) and outspeed jolly sharp/loom before tailwind... anyway I fucken love it

Great idea, I would never think of looking at doubles for new inspiration. You have my respect, and I'll likely use the team soon. Just a quick nitpick, Leftovers should be the item over Sitrus, right? Think you might've missed that when getting the set.

didn't bother adding lefties since this team is extremely offensive and lefties is very passive, but in testing neither are particularly useful. I'll probably end up going with Wacan berry to set up tailwind against stuff like Thundurus or Mega Man etc etc, anyway... glad you like the team
In seriousness I really don't feel like TW Cune is very good. It's deadweight so much of the time because it it singlehandedly screwed over by every single Water-type in the OU tier and that's kind of a problem considering every team has a Water. It rarely punches much in the way of actual holes in the opposing team and is just begging to be replaced by something else that is more threatening.

yea that horseshit dragmag is fuckin ballsacks, and tw cune is dicksauce. at least scrfmence swept that (BAN ME PLEASE) chimpact in one tour which is nice.
Well its worth mentioning that tornadus has priority tailwind and could probably bait any random rhyperiors with gknot and smack steels with heat wave but... It's tornadus :/

anyways, TW Tornadus is p legit. getting up a tailwind for something like Mega [INSERT SCARY WALLBREAKER HERE] or really anything that hits extremely hard like Azumarill or Crawdaunt is often a sure fire way to demolish at least 2-3 mons. its a small niche, but it exists
Yo CTC, was wondering if you could make a squad based on these mons:
Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 248 HP / 148 SpD / 112 Spe
Careful Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Claw
Idk i rly like bulky wow zard x and torn-t seems like an underated anti-meta mon that i think works with zard x in coming in on predicted ground atks and zard can take the ice/electric atks that threaten torn. Ye idk it just seemed like a useable core. Thx
spex oma rain spam. fuck all that toed u gotta chill shit, we go 0 to 100 nigga real quick. spextoed only toed. volturn to get spexmons in and kill shit. yes the bisharp counter is bisharp go fuckurselvs
next up is melo. this spread outspeeds most shits it needs to and does 47 min to slowbro in regular form. 2kos lant w/o rocks. once u trap some relatively uncommon special walls then its all gucci. taunt aero + lum sharp r usually enuf for mew
Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

EVs: 248 HP / 16 SDef / 244 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Taunt
- Toxic
gar lucha is a cool core. luke is a switchin to sharp for gar, and weakens initial lucha switchins from lant scor to quag skarm etc. gar beats the fat psychics that wall both.
(Azumarill) (F) @ Assault Vest
Trait: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
as for the ches/tran/gyara core iv been usin that since early xy seeing as ches was my go to grass slashed with venu before ferro was popular, i think i had a team similar to rosenfeldius' w mega gyara over gyara and a vestkou over manec or something of that sort. iirc changed tran ches to talon ferro later on.
the niche of growth is its gr8 physical attk and regen. i like this set on venu, so i threw on a boosting move for growth since it can regen w/o synth. vs other fat shit like clef, scor, cress, chans, skarm etc it can hold its own after a setup or two. its special counterpart and regen partner is cm bro ofc. if u wanna go full mexican/brazilian then go ahead n toss twave as coverage move on chans and/or clef. but in that case go fuck urself pendejo puta mierda el maricon jajaja
Slowbro (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Scald
- Slack Off
Tangrowth (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 232 HP / 56 Def / 220 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Power Whip
- Hidden Power [Fire]
everyone appreciates a good ball-gargling now and then amirite (I am right)
but really though i'm starting to not give a shit about this team that's not even mine to begin with... lets just pretend last slot is perf even if its tw cune or torn or AV raikou or whatever the fuck blah blah blah moving on now pls...
edit: that was actually a joke suggestion but av raik's not half bad, I think i'll leave it as the finalized mon for the last slot. K we done here
Hippowdon (M) @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
Garchomp (M) @ Garchompite
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 172 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Draco Meteor/Hidden Power Ice
- Fire Blast
Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
So the plan is simple: Set up rocks + sand, defeat the walls w/ mega chomp and then wreck late game with rush Excadrill, but here comes the problem where the metagame is kinda overprepared for sandrush and if I fail to defeat crucial walls like Ferrothorn and Skarmory w/ mega chomp before see him die then it was easy gg as the other members of the team are purely support for the core and so on there wasnt another wallbreaker, stallbreaker mew is also a huge problem. I hope you can make something useful and updated with this core, the sets presented are examples and can be changed around: sdef on hippowdown is so it can endure some special hits not dying so easily, speed on mega chomp is so it outspeed adamant d-nite (im br so i use sandrush to switch in easily before mega huehuehue) i also invest full atk adamant to ohko some would-be checks like azumarill under the sand, speed on excadrill so it outspeeds scarf latios. Thanks in advance.
Hey CTC. I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to make use of Tentacruel in OU on some sort of balance? I know it lost some of its uses since gen 4 / 5 but it can still pull its weight (I think lol). It has been my favorite poke since gen 1!
It checks or counters Keldeo, Breloom, Azumarill, Clefable, Scizor, Sylveon, and due to Liquid Ooze Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn (kind of), and Conkledurr. It gets Rapid Spin which is really easy to use in OU since pretty much the only ghost in OU atm is Gengar who doesn't really do much to it. Stall sucks kinda right now but is there any way it can work on balance?
I second this request. I haven't seen Tentacruel on balance before. The two Tentacruel teams posted here were stall and Rain, neither are what Yam asked for.
Hey there CTC, it's really cool of you to help out rooks or stranded minds who's stuck on which mon to put in the team because nearly all of em' makes sense to him(ex:myself), so props man. I've wanted to make a semi offensive/balanced but more offense oriented team, if that makes any sense. So the mons I have in mind are some of my favourites; first of is a Timid Latios, not with defog, but pure special attacker. The second is a timid Landorus, these two will act as the special attackers. And when i think of these two, Heatran always comes in mind as the 3 have great synergy and cover most of each others weaknesses. So what I'm asking of you is to help fill in the team, please also pick a mega for the team and if you feel like you need to change any of the mons above feel free to do so. Here's the set ofor the three:
I put thunderbolt on Latios to cover water types that are threats to heatran and lando.
Landorus @ Life Orbs
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 sdef / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Calm Mind
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Def / 4 SAtk / 252 Sdef
Calm/Bold (I have both but think bold is interesting)
- stealth rock
- Lava Plume
- protect/flash canon?
- toxic
So this is pretty much it, appreciate your help man. Cheers.
i've been wanting to use starmie on a team for a while but they all end up being pretty shitty when make one unfortunately... probably because i try to make ho teams with it and i'm pretty garbage at making ho to begin with. anyway i did at least manage to make a core i quite like out of it:
Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Rapid Spin
Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 16 HP / 252 SpA / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Volt Switch
basically focuses on luring shit to nab KOs vs trapping. p much every time zone pops up people hide away their ferrothorns nd their scizors until he ded, and focusing on trapping is a massive pain in the ass sometimes... so I went a different route and gave starmie hp fire to shit on ferro and mag hp ground to shit on tran, although tbh i mainly just like using scarfzone as a birdspam check without much regard to trapping... anyway since ferro is a common mie switchin and tran is a common zone switch in, and both tran nd ferro shit their pants against starmie nd mag 1v1 so they avoid them nd go for the other... and hp ground 2hko's tran so if you can get him on the switch you're golden. rly fun core imo but i'm having an unusually awkward time tryna build around it, came up with this kinda shitty lookin bulky offense-ish squad that works alright I guess but it's kinda weak to cb dnite and ninja... and sand i guess to a lesser extent but fuck yeah we gotta weavile so that takes care of ttar at the very least... guess it's p bisharp weak too but w/e. anyway this be mine (although feel free to ignore all of it nd build whatever the fuck you want, jus keep the mie nd mag sets pls) --
Starmie @ Life Orb

Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 16 HP / 252 SpA / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Volt Switch
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
