Why do you have Knock Off on Calm Mind Clefable?
bc fuck heatran, fuck chansey, fuck greninja, fuck azumarill, fuck gothitelle switchins, fuck anything with an item, fuck stall and fuck your aunt josephine. knock off clefable is the tits, son.

(also i have no room for both knock off and pursuit on weavile but this isn't about that)

That actually sounds pretty cool. I mean it has other options like Stored Power / Heal Bell / Flamethrower but it's probably the last thing I would expect from Clefable.

yeah, i stole it off of that branflakes guy's alomomomomola rmt from forever ago and it's pretty sex, completely wrecks stall (nd knocking off goth's scarf/specs bullshit when they switch in is the most satisfying feeling)

Aite my nigga, i wanna see u innovating. I challenge u to make a set / bring a pokemon that no one ever uses that does really well on the meta. Let's be honest here, niggas just use the same shit and abuse of garde n mew n gar n pinsir n exca n all that bull, so some new stuff would be amazin, specially since xy is endin and oras is coming. I don't want a mon that was already good on other gen and is just not used atm or some shit, like celebi with a standard set or somethin, i wanna see real creativity, and if you're as good at teambuilding as you say you should be able to do dis. I know its hard tho so ur choice my good fren :]

basically set spikes and spinblock exca :/ aside from the crippling fire weakness these two synergize ok, with klefki being able to switch into hyper voice from mvoir and pumpkin tankin ground moves. Key is the only spikes user to beat lati 1v1 which is rly cool, and gourgiest-small spreads passive damage like a total bitch. speed evs let it burn everything kyu-b and slower, which is a gigantic amount of shit, and it counters diggersby, breloom, and excadrill and can check other stuff like azu and lando-t. It's a rly underrated and imo effective on the right team kinda mon.

Seems like a cool core and i would really like to see both of those Pokemon in action, but i think bulky or hyper offense is better for those guys as Klefki sucks on stall and Gourgeist-Small lacks reliable recovery, so it's not sturdy enough for defensive teams, especially without cleric support. But on offense, Klefki soft checks most sweepers with Thunder Wave, fucks up many Defog users with Toxic and Play Rough, and sets up Spikes for Gourgeist to take advantage of. A solid Clefable counter is a must too, as MG Clefable is a royal pain in the ass to Gourgeist.

The problem that then arises is that you need a spinner to reliably get rid of hazards and obviously keep up your own, which leaves you just reflect type starmie basically (mblastoise works for my team cuz its a rly select team, and it does a lot that starmie cannot)
So you have a pumpkin, a starfish, and keyring.
What part of this screams offensive as fuck :[[ you'd need a solid core of two nukes to annihilate the meta between them and then throw in some pivot/patch up mon which seems like a rly frail team to me :/
I thought about offense at first but the "core" members just lack so much presence its hardly worth it.

Lack of offensive presence on two Pokemon is definitely a problem for HO, so a more balanced or bulky offense approach may be the way to go. Tyranitar + Excadrill is a good choice for hazards control, and don't discount offensive Starmie, it's a really good spinner.

nigga i actually already have teams made for this shit, many of em co produced by the lord gr8astard himself. however u think im gonna post these tour level innovation squads here 4 peasants and snakes alike to steal and use against me,,,, nah nigga,,,, with that said ill see if i can throw something together thats brand new.
I call this masterpiece -- Put da pussy on a leash
all these taunt users ensure no defoggin or settin up, icy on gar is for lead loom who, unless ur playing a retard, will always tomb. kinda didnt wanna use jolly cloy and go 4 the spd tie. rb is better for mamo while shard is bettr in general cuz the shit u rb usually get boomed on. boom cloy also lures in and kills/cripples keld for sharp and rotom for aero. holy fuk yaboi is a genius,,, call me the MF DOOM of builders -
if this team turns out shit im just gonna delete this post and act like it was never made

Seconding this, and it's remarkably similar to the team I'm playing with now. I love using "ExcaTar" because, besides sand damage, Tyranitar and Gourgeist have gorgeous synergy together. If you run Smooth Rock support-Tar, they you have all your hazards too, and Excadrill sweeping time. Exca also acts as a revenge killer, and check to CMClef with Iron Head.

I say again, remarkably similar to my current team. Fall season inspires pumpkin use I guess.

there are some sub optimal sets out there too. for example BONGMASTER420 sub pup vic isnt that gud after trials cuz idk eh its kinda a situational set on a situational mon. i think id probs go band or some shit or like taunt uturn which i like quite alot

also last but not least newmeta wrath
secondary check to gyara is nice, gr8 for resisting dark for cress as well. also a keld counter unlike venu cuz scald aint shit. also a phazer in place of skarm

Just saw this set on ladder and it completetly crushed me, I played shitty but w/e. I used Infernape back in the beginnings of XY and it was shit, probably because I suck at teambuilding.
I really want to try this set out because its awesome against stall, you can get up rocks, kill 1 pokemon and then sweep with another mon. I want the team to be offensive, in the style of flying spam, because infernape takes 1 counter and the partner can sweep. Please build the team, explanation is appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi CTC I was wondering if you could build a team around these two guys

Diggersby @ Life Orb/Focus Sash
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 Def
Adamant Nature
-Return
-Earthquake
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

Crawdaunt @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 Def
Jolly Nature
-Crabhammer
-Knock Off
-Aqua Jet
-Swords Dance

I tried doing it by myself, but the general fragility of the core has proven difficult for me to handle, hope you can do something around this issue.

Time for another challenge, this one much harder, but more free:

uxie.gif

CHALLENGE: Create a team that would prefer Uxie over Cresselia.

How is this even possible? Uxie's movepool is more expansive, the most notable moves being Stealth Rock, Knock Off, Yawn, and U-Turn, among some others.

If you do this right, it could be the next Mantine Stall imo.

(I know I didn't give any moveset(s) or other pokemon - I'm trying to give you as free a space to work as possible for this.)

Hey CTC, what's good? Anyways, I've been having decent success with this fun core while laddering for OLT.

blastoise.gif
+
Reuniclus.gif

My thought process behind this core was this. Mega blastoise is a decent bulky spinner, but is checked by ferrothorn. Because of this, I paired it with my favorite set-up sweeper, cm reuniclus. Reuniclus punishes ferrothorns that stay in, because it set up calm minds or attack if ferrothorn switches out. Also, reuniclus is weak to bisharp and stallbreaker mew, which get beaten by blastoise. Blastoise is a tank with no way of healing itself unless it uses rest, so wish support helps a ton. Thank you in advance!

Here are the sets that I use:

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

Standard CM reuniclus

Blastoise-Mega @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 56 SpA / 20 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Dark Pulse
- Scald
- Aura Sphere
- Rapid Spin

I made this spread, it can always survive MegaMan T-Bolt after rocks. It can speed creep some stuff (I forget what), and 2hkos stallbreaker mew around 98% of the time. It can also survive 3 breloom bullet seeds if you need it to.

Here is a replay of how it is supposed to work:
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-172882772

It isn't that high on the ladder but w/e.

Thanks again!

Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 192 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 60 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

mega venusaur and raikou make a fantastic core. mega venusaur eats the bulky grass types that give cm raikou trouble, as well as the ground types that keep it from spamming vs. raikou covers birds that eat mega venu. both are really good at covering the meta, with threat coverage including(but not limited to) landorus, thundurus, mamoswine, keldeo, azumarill, pinsir, talonflame, greninja, manectric, and crawdaunt(with the speed). due to the nature of the mega venu set, i decided to make raikou a cm variant.

also please try to make this team good

hey CTC, i wanted to know if you could help me with a team i'm trying to build but don't have many ideas to do that.
i want a hyper offensive team based on terrakion:

terrakion.gif

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat

i love this set because makes it a threatening pokemon for both offensive and stall teams and there aren't many things that can take its strong STABs.

greninja.gif

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- spikes
- filler

ninja makes good sinergy with terrakion because it beats some common kion checks like lando-t and with offensive spikes stacking helps it sweep. in the fourth slot it can either go for taunt or for a coverage move like extrasensory or grass knot.

another good add can be a fast electric type to check birdspam and other threats that give kion troubles like slowbro as well as beating some priority users such as azumarill and scizor
