Team Automatic Problamatic

Team Building Process:

I knew immediately I wanted to start my team with Uxie lead. I wanted to try it out, since it's been becoming more popular as of late. I decided to use TrickScarf Uxie lead, because it is able to beat many common leads and give them a Scarf for the rest of the match.

I knew I wanted Skarmory as a Spiker. I use Skarmory as a Spiker on alot of teams, and this was simply the right choice for the perfect Semistall team.

I needed to use a spin blocker, as most teams do, and this was a perfect fit. Rotom-C is a great, bulky spinblocker that really helps my team, especially with that STAB Thunderbolt.

I added Vaporeon as a Wisher. I figured it would be a great addition to my team, mainly with being a great Fire resist.

I added Lucario to help give more physical power to my team, because I thought it would be a good fit.

I added Tyranitar to help deal with special sweepers that it can trap such as Gengar and Starmie, which give problems to my team.

After lots of battles, I noticed how weak my team was to WishCM Jirachi. It practically went through my whole team, so I needed to make a change or two, and I did. I took out my Wish support to add a Heatran to handle with Jirachi, and I also replaced Lucario with Gyarados to add another Ground immune and Fighting resist.

The Closer Look:

uxie.png

Uxie @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/104 Def/152 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Trick
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
---

Uxie is a very underrated lead. Personally, I think it should be OU, with it's high stats, pretty nice movepool and overall bulk and ability to support. TrickScarf Uxie lead is able to pass a Scarf onto many leads such as Swampert, Metagross, Azelf, and Mamoswine and force them to only be able to set up Rocks before having to switch out. Then, I can set up Rocks of my own and play my way around whatever comes in. U-Turn allows me to scout once I have gotten rocks up, and Thunder Wave allows me to cripple anything that i might need crippled such as Gengar or Heatran.

skarmory.png

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind
---

Skarmory is a very standard but amazing phazer and Spiker. Having access to both Spikes and Whirlwind makes it very versatile in the Overused metagame. Brave Bird allows me to hit pokemon such as Machamp pretty hard, and is an overall good STAB move to have. Spikes is the whole basis of Semistall, and with Whirlwind, allows me to phaze around while the opponent's pokemon constantly take Spikes and Stealth Rock damage. Roost is needed to recover Skarmory's health at critical times.

rotomcut.png

Rotom-c @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/12 Def/244 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Will-o-wisp
- Substitute
---

Rotom-C is a great spinblocker, mainly with its pretty nice speed and general bulk. I run 244 speed to outspeed Timid Offensive Suicunes and hit them with a strong Thunderbolt before they try to set up. Shadow Ball is the other STAB move that hits other pokemon that Thunderbolt doesn't hit such as Breloom. Will-o-Wisp, combined with Substitute, makes a great combo for beating Scizor and Tyranitar. I can Substitute on their switch, and Will-o-Wisp to prevent them from being a huge threat to my team.

485.png

Heatran (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Explosion
---

Life Orb Heatran makes for a great Sweeper for this team. A strong, Life Orbed STAB Fire Blast hits alot of things very, very hard. Earth Power allows me to hit pokes that resist Fire Blast such as Tyranitar or Heatran itself. Hidden Power Grass will hit those Swamperts with a guaranteed OHKO, and Explosion allows me to hit Blissey and Gyarados nicely.

gyarados.png

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP/72 Atk/96 Def/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
---

BulkyGyara is a really amazing support and sweeper sometimes. With Taunt, Gyarados can prevent being paralyzed or poisoned from pokes such as Blissey and Celebi. It is also able to set up on Blissey with Dragon Dance. Waterfall is the absolute needed STAB move and hits anything hard, even Rotoms that switch in take a good chunk from Waterfall before I'm forced to switch out. Stone Edge also allows me to hit pokemon like Dragonite, Gyarados, and Zapdos harder and lets me at least be able to touch Vaporeon.

248Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
---

Scarf Tyranitar is pretty common nowadays, and for pretty good reason: Trapping. With Pursuit, it is able to trap special sweepers locked onto a certain move, such as a Rotom locked onto Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball, and Pursuit to get rid of them. Pursuit can also kill staying in Gengar. Crunch is another STAB move that hits pokemon that don't resist dark even harder than Pursuit such as Flygon. Stone Edge is the final STAB, and hits flying types such as Dragonite and Gyarados much harder. Superpower is the final move, being able to hit Blissey and Snorlax and even Heatran with a powerful move to hopefully kill them.

So yeah, that's my team, I'm open to any criticism, and yeah, that's about it.

Nice team Dubby, I just see pokemon like CroCune being a huge problem for you. You have only one super effective move on them and i reckon it does maybe 40% without a CM at most, if I were youd I'd sacrifice the chance of outspeeding the lesscommon Timid LO Suicune, for the chance of 2hkoing CroCune with TBolt, and replace your Timid Nature on Rotom to Modest, and take some speed for SpA. I suggest this because you still have TTar to beat Timid Cune, and since most pack life orb, after a switch in to SR, Sand, and Life Orb, they're down to 72% where I'm fairly sure a modest TBolt would kill it, where it would still live the Hydro Pump due to its large investment into HP. (Rotom-A) Overall a nice team, I went through most common OUs and it can deal with them.

Edit: Dragon Dance TTar also beats your team if you're TTar loses the speed tie, and the opponent has rocks up.

This team seems pretty solid and only has one weakness to SR. Magnezone gets beat by Heatran but beats Skarms. Gyarados with double DD can ruin most of your team if it has max speed. Good team...Battle me on Shoddy sometime :)

Just some very quck nitpicks (btw this is my first ever rate) Offensive Zapdos gets through your whole team if TTar is dead and you say you check suicune is checked by Rotom but suicune has huge defences so no EV TBolt wont hit too hard and after CM its almost untouchable by spec atks. To fix this you could swap taunt for roar on gyara or changing Rotom to an offensive set. Changing gyara to roar would make grest use of your entry hazard stacks. Hope I help. Waffles

I'm just curious, I run an Uxie lead as well, and I'm wondering what you do against Perts. T1 I'm afraid of them attacking, so I usually just U-turn to something with a grass-type attack.

Why not add Shed Shell over Leftovers on Skarmory so it can't be trapped by Magnezone, and you could change the ev spread to 252 Hp / 56 Defense / 200 SpD with Careful nature giving it better defense stat that reaches 330 and it still has a good Special Defense stat as well. This lets you take on Scizor and other physical attacks better, since you don't have Leftovers.

Hey,

Pretty solid team, but it seems like offensive Water-types can really give you some trouble, particularly Life Orb Suicune and Starmie. Suicune easily Calm Minds up and starts ripping through your team, as Rotom doesn't do much with a min Sp Atk Thunderbolt to a +1 Suicune. Starmie on the other hand just spams Hydro Pump and nothing can switch in, you're forced to sac a Poke in order to get Tyranitar in safely. So, I'd suggest trying out a mid-game Spiker Roserade over Skarmory. Sure, it doesn't boast the physical bulky of Skarm, but it makes up for it by completing a solid F/W/G core. The moveset I'd suggest is Grass Knot/Spikes/Stun Spore or HP Fire/Rest, depending on whether you want to nail Scizor and Forretress or the ability to cripple incoming Tyranitar/Heatran. It's up to you.

Since you now lack a phazer and you lose a valuable physical wall, I'd recommend trying a RestTalk Gyara over your current set. Now Gyarados packs much more survivability, allowing it to continuosly switch in and wall Machamp, Lucario, Scizor and other powerful physical attackers. You also gain a reliable status absorber. A moveset of Waterfall/Roar/Rest/Sleep Talk should work well, and for the EVs, simply max out HP and Defense with an Impish nature. This Gyarados is a champ at taking physical hits, even boosted ones, and its decent special bulk allows it to check Infernape as well.

On Heatran, I'd suggest trying out Taunt over Explosion. This gives you a very effective stall-breaker, as Heatran can now defeat Blissey without having to resort to sacrificing itself. Heatran can now rip through the rest of the team with its excellent type coverage. You can keep HP Grass for the OHKO on Swampert, or you can go with HP Electric for the OHKO on Gyarados.

Very nice team, and gl!
