[OVERVIEW]

Tentacruel's good Water / Poison defensive typing, which allows it to check threats such as Infernape and Scizor whilst absorbing Toxic Spikes, and access to Rapid Spin are what really set it apart from other Water-types in the tier. Additionally, good utility options in Toxic Spikes, Haze, and Knock Off give it the ability to support different playstyles and archetypes, and a good Speed tier also lets Tentacruel outspeed and heavily chip down threats to balance such as Mamoswine and Nidoking before going down without much investment. However, its subpar physical bulk and a lack of recovery outside of Z-Haze leave it hard pressed to check threats such as Scizor and Cobalion over the course of a game and reliant on teammates to serve as primary checks. Tentacruel’s weakness to a common offensive typing in Ground, most Stealth Rock setters have, makes it more risky to remove entry hazards, even if they are forced out by Tentacruel’s Scald. Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner due to the fact Starmie has a much higher offensive presence and can switch into common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon and Swampert reliably. Tentacruel’s low damage output leaves it open to becoming setup fodder for bulky users, such as Reuniclus and Latias, even though Haze will deny their boosts if need be.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Scald is Tentacruel's main means of damaging opposing teams and has the added benefit of being able to severely crippling physical attackers with a burn. Rapid Spin allows Tentacruel to remove entry hazards from your side of the field, such as Stealth Rock and Spikes. Haze allows Tentacruel to force out certain Pokemon that are reliant on setup, such as Suicune and Swords Dance Scizor. Sludge Bomb is a moderately strong secondary STAB move that hits targets such as Rotom-C, Mega Altaria, and most notably Primarina for super effective damage. Alternatively, Toxic Spikes can wear down opposing teams with poison, and Knock Off removes the item from common Tentacruel switch-ins, such as Blissey and Empoleon, which can be useful for wearing them down over time.

Set Details
========

144 EVs invested in Speed and a Timid nature allows Tentacruel to outspeed Rotom-H and Rotom-C, as well as threats such as Mamoswine and Nidoking. The remaining EVs are placed in HP and Defense to maximize Tentacruel’s physical bulk. Black Sludge is a means of passive recovery, increasing Tentacruel's longevity. Alternatively, Icium Z with Haze provides a one-time full restoration of Tentacruel’s health that also helps it reduce Knock Off damage from threats such as Scizor, but should only be used if there are no other Z-Move users on the team. Clear Body aids Tentacruel in removing Sticky Web, due to a lack of a Speed drop. A slightly bulkier spread of 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe with a Timid nature may be used to only Speed creep Mamoswine and Chandelure if your team deals with faster threats adequately.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its lack of recovery, Tentacruel’s HP should be preserved until necessary, so it should only be coming in on forced switches and Pokemon that cannot do meaningful damage to it, such as Scizor locked into Bullet Punch and defensive Pokemon such as Alomomola. Tentacruel additionally shouldn’t be attempting to use Rapid Spin on most Stealth Rock setters, as they can heavily damage or outright KO Tentacruel, outside of rare exceptions such as Empoleon and Cobalion. Tentacruel can be used to revenge kill weakened foes such as Mamoswine and Rotom-C if need be, but generally it shouldn’t be taking them on because Tentacruel is unable to OHKO most threats. Knock Off is a very useful tool to scout for items, such as seeing whether or not a Latias has a Z-Crystal on the switch-in. It also can be used to cripple threats such as Empoleon and Choice Specs Kyurem that rely on their items and often switch directly into Tentacruel. Knock Off is also extremely useful for chipping down bulkier threats such as Blissey by removing their Leftovers. Toxic Spikes are important when trying to break through bulkier archetypes, so try to set them as early as possible when facing them.

Team Options
========

Teammates that appreciate Tentacruel’s entry hazard removal, such as Kyurem, Mega Aerodactyl, and Togekiss, make good partners. Ground-type answers such as Moltres and Hydreigon can punish common Tentacruel checks like Krookodile and Swampert. Steel-types such as Mega Aggron and Bronzong can deal with troublesome Dragon- and Psychic-type Pokemon like Latias and Kyurem that commonly switch into Tentacruel. Additionally, Pursuit support from teammates such as Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Krookodile can trap problematic Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Starmie and Gengar and remove them. Pokemon that enjoy Toxic Spikes chipping down opposing teams, such as Kyurem and Raikou, make good partners. Moltres is a good option because it takes on Scizor and most Fighting-type threats reliably, provided Tentacruel removes Stealth Rock for it in return. Fairy-types, such as Mega Altaria and Togekiss, make excellent partners due to their ability to take on Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Fighting-types Tentacruel shouldn’t be taking on due to its lack of recovery, such as Terrakion and Kommo-o. Additionally, Florges and Sylveon can provide Wish support, furthering Tentacruel’s longevity. Tentacruel is unable to check threats such as Scizor, Primarina, and Cobalion over time, so hard checks to those threats, such as Mega Slowbro and Doublade for Cobalion and Mega Aggron for Scizor, can greatly make up for Tentacruel’s shortcomings defensively. Lastly, Electric-immune Pokemon in the form of Ground-types such as Gligar and Hippowdon fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats like Mega Manectric that would otherwise be troublesome, as well as forming entry hazard stacking cores with Tentacruel due to their ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A slower, bulkier spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe with a Bold nature is a good option to take hits like Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat better, but this spread only works if Tentacruel doesn't the Speed for Nidoking and Mamoswine. Toxic can reliably deter threats such as Latias and Mega Manectric from switching in, but it isn’t as useful as the options listed. An offensive set is possible, but other Water-types such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise outclass it due to their better coverage and overall damage output. Acid Spray can be used to punish setup sweepers and slower Pokemon such as Alomomola for coming in on Tentacruel, but it is generally not as good or consistent as the options listed on the set. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option to beat Roost Scizor in a one-on-one situation but is generally useless otherwise. Sludge Wave is a slightly stronger alternative that also hits Pokemon with Bulletproof such as Kommo-o and Chesnaught, but Sludge Bomb’s higher chance to poison makes it the better option in most, if not all circumstances.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type threats such as Starmie, Reuniclus, and Celebi can come in on Tentacruel relatively freely due to its low damage output, force it out, and can even set up in the case of the latter two. Celebi, Latias, and offensive Starmie, however, dislike having their sets revealed via Knock Off or being chipped down and even poisoned from Sludge Bomb.

**Electric-types**: Rotom-C and Mega Manectric can freely pivot into Scald and use Tentacruel for free momentum with Volt Switch as Tentacruel it switches out, although the former fears Sludge Bomb. Raikou in particular can use Tentacruel as setup fodder as it switches out.

**Ground-types**: Threats such as Krookodile and Swampert can force out Tentacruel with powerful Ground-type attacks. They cannot switch into Scald, however.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-type threats such as Latias and Hydreigon can freely come into Tentacruel and force it out with the threat of heavy damage. However, they all fear having their items removed, and physical Dragon-type threats such as Haxorus and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria fear a potential burn from Scald.

**Offensive Pressure**: Stronger Pokemon such as Infernape and Choice Band Terrakion can easily 2HKO Tentacruel after Stealth Rock, which can prove troublesome. Additionally, super effective coverage such as Mega Aerodactyl's Earthquake or Nihilego's Thunder or Thunderbolt can pick off Tentacruel after mild chip damage.

The set should be as follows:

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Scald
move 2: Rapid Spin
move 3: Haze
move 4: Sludge Bomb / Toxic Spikes / Knock Off
item: Black Sludge / Icium Z
ability: Clear Body
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 Spe

The speed is for Rotom-H and Rotom-C as well as the base 85s; it's only 8 evs more than before, so it's a nonissue. Sludge Bomb's primary purpose is hitting Primarina, as Tentacruel is meant to be a Primarina answer; it hits Togekiss, Rotom-C, and Mega Altaria as well, which is pretty important, and prevents Celebi from coming in for free. Toxic Spikes isn't great right now as compared to actually hitting Primarina, so it's slashed second. Haze is not slashed with anything because running a Tentacruel without Haze is begging to lose to Scizor as a Pokemon that's meant to check it.

Mention 96 Timid for Mamoswine, Chandelure, and Togekiss in Set Details.

Reorder the Moves and Set Details sections accordingly and add all relevant additions. 144 Timid is the main spread and Bold remains in Other Options.

* Tentacruel's good Water/Poison defensive typing, as well as access to Rapid Spin, are what really set it apart.
Rephrase this so that it's not ambiguous from what it is being set apart. Mention that its typing lets it check common threats such as Scizor, Cobalion, and Infernape

*Decent 100 speed lets it outspeed and heavily chip down threats to balance such as Mamoswine and Nidoqueen before going down without much investment.
Try Nidoking instead, as that's a more relevant Pokemon and something Tentacruel's Speed truly comes in handy for.

*Tentacruel’s weakness to common offensive typings in Psychic-, Ground-, and Electric-type also leave it with limited opportunities to remove hazards.
*Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner, due to the fact Starmie can beat common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon or Swampert.
Tentacruel's weaknesses do not make it a bad spinner or significantly lower the opportunities it gets to remove hazards. You can mention that its weakness to Ground causes it to lose one-on-one many Stealth Rock users such as Swampert and Hippowdon, but it threatens most Stealth Rock users from coming in directly due to Scald; Tentacruel's ability to dissuade common Stealth Rock users from switching in directly is definitely something that should be mentioned in the analysis in Usage Tips (after specifying in the first point in Usage Tips that it doesn't beat several stealth rock setters one-on-one) and perhaps the Overview.

Specify that its competition from Starmie is primarily due to Starmie's higher offensive presence, more than anything else.

*Knock Off hits common Tentacruel switch-ins, such as Empoleon or Latias, and removes their item, which can be useful for wearing them down over time.
Knock Off is not there for the damage and this implies that it will always remove the item from Latias, which commonly runs Z-Moves. Rephrase this such that it states that Knock Off is there to annoy Pokemon like Empoleon, Blissey, Choice Scarf Latias, and Hydreigon by removing their items.

*Clear Body allows Tentacruel to successfully Rapid Spin against Sticky Webs teams.
Clear Body simply prevents Tentacruel from having its stats dropped, which allows it to avoid the Speed drop from Sticky Web. Rephrase this such that it does not imply that Tentacruel can auto-spin vs. Sticky Web teams thanks to Clear Body but rather just eases the process.

Usage tips needs an overhaul.
- Completely scrap what's there. Half of it is incorrect and the other half is just the moves section restated.
- State when to bring Tentacruel in, keep the line about preserving its health, and state when to use Rapid Spin (on forced switches/against Pokemon that cannot do significant damage).
- Mention that Tentacruel can, if needed, be used to revenge kill weakened Water- and Poison-weak foes like Nidoking, Mamoswine, Rotom-H, and Rotom-C, though it generally does not want to take them on if they are healthy out of fear of being chipped heavily or KOed.
- Stress that Toxic Spikes is imperative in the matchup against bulkier teams and particular care should be placed on keeping Toxic Spikes up when facing these playstyles.
- Mention that Knock Off is excellent for scouting and go into detail; Using Knock Off on a predicted switch-in to Latias immediately gives Tentacruel a big hint as to what its set is, whether it's a Z-Move variant (and therefore likely Calm Mind) or not. Kyurem is another good example of a Pokemon that Tentacruel can scout and cripple with Knock Off.
- Specify that, if there is a bulky Pokemon like Empoleon or Tentacruel on the opposing team, their item should be removed with Knock Off as early as possible in order to make progress on wearing them down.

Mention Pokemon that enjoy Toxic Spikes support such as Kyurem and Raikou in Team Options.

Add a bullet for Pokemon that appreciate the defensive utility Tentacruel brings (in terms of checking scizor coba nape prima etc.) and give examples. On the flipside, please do add secondary checks to these Pokemon + secondary checks to Fighting-types as a whole as another section in Team Options, in order to relieve some pressure from Tentacruel in checking them & check the Fighting-types Tentacruel can't beat.

Mention Wish support in team options to keep Tentacruel healthy. Florges and Sylveon are excellent examples of this.

Give examples of Psychic-types Tentacruel wants Pursuit trapped, for clarity.

*Lastly, Electric resists such as Latias or Hydreigon fit well with Tentacruel, and can offset the low damage Tentacruel output brings to a team.
These two points are not connected whatsoever. You're free to add a section for checks to Electric-types, but please include some Ground-types along with Latias and the like. You're also free to add a separate point for wallbreakers.

Mention Sludge Wave in Other Options as a slightly stronger Poison-type STAB move that is not blocked by Bulletproof from Kommo-o and Chesnaught, but state that Sludge Bomb's higher chance to poison makes Sludge Wave difficult to justify.

In Checks and Counters, Reuniclus is not a "common" threat. Either remove the two instances of common or remove reuniclus+one of the two instances of common (it's redundant). If you remove Reuniclus, you're free to add another sentence with "Reuniclus, although uncommon, can" or something along those lines. Mention that Latias and Starmie dislike being poisoned + overall chipped down by Sludge Bomb and that all of them dislike being crippled and having their set revealed by Knock Off. Mention Celebi also but that Sludge Bomb hurts.

Mention that Rotom-C needs to fear Sludge Bomb. Add Raikou as a separate example that can set up on Tentacruel while threatening it out.

I don't know why this isn't here already but add a section for Dragon-types, which can often take Tentacruel's attacks and force it out w the threat of heavy damage, although they fear being poisoned by Sludge Bomb and potentially having their items removed. Add examples and include Kyurem. Physical Dragon-types also need to fear Scald burns but can potentially set up on or KO Tentacruel.

Consider adding a bit about super effective coverage moves from Pokemon like Nihilego, Mega Altaria, and Mega Aerodactyl being capable of KOing a weakened Tentacruel.

Ping me when this is all implemented. Implement this within 48 hours or the QC team will reassign this analysis. I am not stamping this yet.

(overview)
* Tentacruel's good Water/Poison defensive typing which allow it to check threats such as Infernape and Scizor, as well as access to Rapid Spin, are what really set it apart.
set it apart from what

*Tentacruel’s weakness to common offensive typings in Psychic-, Ground-, and Electric-type also leave it with limited opportunities to remove hazards.
Tentacruel's weaknesses do not make its opportunities to remove hazards as limited as this sentence makes it seem, and the Psychic and Electric weaknesses aren't even really related to its hazard removing ability at all. You can say that its weakness to Ground makes it vulnerable to the attacks of several Stealth Rock users, but it will still get several opportunities to spin throughout a game.

(set details)
*A slightly slower spread of 252 HP / 160 Defense / 96 Speed with a Timid nature may be used to only creep Mamoswine and Chandelure if you don’t need the extra speed.
Nitpick, but specify "bulkier" instead of "slower". Makes it sound like a less ass decision if you state the upside to it.

*Icium Z with Haze is a one-time full restoration of Tentacruel’s health, but should only be used if there are no other Z-move users on the team.
Mention that Icium Z also assists Tentacruel against Knock Off users such as Scizor.

(usage tips)
*Tentacruel doesn’t beat most Stealth Rock users, so attempt to use Rapid Spin on forced switches or pivots into threats such as Scizor or Infernape.
cut this or reword it into the last of the points below + specify "one-on-one" after "users"

- State when to bring Tentacruel in, keep the line about preserving its health, and state when to use Rapid Spin (on forced switches/against Pokemon that cannot do significant damage).
Do all of this.

(team options)
Add a bullet for Pokemon that appreciate the defensive utility Tentacruel brings (in terms of checking scizor coba nape prima etc.) and give examples. On the flipside, please do add secondary checks to these Pokemon + secondary checks to Fighting-types as a whole as another section in Team Options, in order to relieve some pressure from Tentacruel in checking them & check the Fighting-types Tentacruel can't beat.

Mention Wish support in team options to keep Tentacruel healthy. Florges and Sylveon are excellent examples of this.
Do all of this.

You're also free to add a separate point for wallbreakers.
Do this if you care about it.

(other options)
This is minor but if you want your fat spread to be as prominent as possible you should probably make it the first point in other options instead of the last.

(checks and counters)
**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type threats such as Starmie, Reuniclus, and Celebi are all threats that can come in on Tentacruel relatively freely due to its low damage output, force it out and can even setup in the case of the latter two.
Mention that Latias and Starmie dislike being poisoned + overall chipped down by Sludge Bomb and that all of them dislike being crippled and having their set revealed by Knock Off. Mention Celebi also but that Sludge Bomb hurts.
In addition to implementing the quoted-from-me comment, please also remove "are all threats that" because that's redundant.

Dragon-types should probably be point 4 in the list, above strong wallbreakers, as they're definitely more concrete answers to tenta.

Consider adding Please do add a section (at the bottom, as a new point) about super effective coverage moves from Pokemon like Nihilego, Mega Altaria, and Mega Aerodactyl being capable of KOing a weakened Tentacruel.

Overview

*However, subpar 80/65 physical bulk, and a lack of recovery outside of a Z move, leave it hard pressed to check threats such as Scizor or Cobalion over the course of a game.
Change the Z-move to Z-Haze; just more accurate. Also mention Black Sludge here.

*Tentacruel’s weakness to a common offensive typings in Ground-type, a typing most Stealth Rock setters have, limit its opportunities to remove hazards.
I'd expand on this. Mention how Tenta hits most of them with s/e STAB and outspeeds pretty much all of them. Therefore while it cannot switch into them directly to remove entry hazards, it can easily force them out and use that as an opportunity to remove entry hazards but it is risky.

*Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner, due to the fact Starmie has a much higher offensive presence and can beat common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon or Swampert, even if they don’t like coming in on Tentacruel’s Scald directly.
Basically after the change to the last point, I'd just expand the "can beat common SR users" part since Tenta doesnt necessarily lose out here, so I'd just mention how Starmie can switch-in as well.

*Tentacruel’s low damage output leaves it open to bulky setup users, such as Reuniclus or Latias.
I'd mention how despite this, most of these setup sweepers aren't going to be able to get away with a free boost most of the time because of Haze.

Usage Tips

*Tentacruel can be used to revenge kill weakened foes such as Mamoswine or Rotom-C if need be but generally shouldn’t be taking them on.
I'd mention that for the examples used Tenta can't OHKO either of them and this goes the same for most other threats.

Team Options

*Steel-types such as Mega Aggron and Bronzong can deal with troublesome Dragon and Psychic-type Pokemon that commonly switch into Tentacruel.
Examples.

*Pokemon such as Celebi and Mega Aggron appreciate Tentacruel’s ability to take on threats such as Primarina, Scizor, and Infernape, and make good teammates.
I feel like this is extremely vague. Honestly I'd remove this point considering I'm going to tell you to add a point that basically makes this somewhat null anyways.

*Lastly, Electric resists such as Latias or Hippowdon fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats such as Manectric-Mega who would otherwise prove troublesome.
Probably should highly recommend Ground-types here. Electric-immunity plays out a lot differently than just Electric-resists and most are good SR setters so they could form an entry hazard core with tenta.

*Other Fighting-type checks such as Latias or Mega Altaria can take a lot of pressure off of Tentacruel, and even beat threats Tentacruel cannot, such as Terrakion.
A bit of backtracking, my bad. Anyways you can remove this point. I want you to add a point that basically talks about how Tentacruel only works as a soft check to many of the threats it's generally used to answer, such as Scizor, Cobalion, Primarina, Infernape, etc etc because of its lack of recovery and mediocre bulk therefore it shouldn't be relied on as the primary answer to big threats the team it's being used on has, and dodge using it as the primary resist for common offensive types like Fighting. Then go into how Pokemon that alleviate this issue, such as Fairy-types to act as strong Fighting resists and Moltres as a Sciz check / fight resist etc etc really help. Please flesh this point out well. Don't be afraid to use multiple sentences for different things like one for Fairies, one for Molt or w/e etc. Be sure to use examples for everything and uh as I notice this remove the Wish passing point and mention that as part of the Fairy thing.

Other Options

Add a point regarding Toxic to help deter most of Tentacruel's bulky switch-ins like pert / latias / dreigon, etc.

Tag me after changes are made and I'll stamp if it's adequate.

*Secondary Scizor checks, such as Cobalion or Slowbro, make good partners due to their ability to take the pressure off of Tentacruel due to the latter’s inability to check Scizor over time.

Could you please do it more like I stated here with it being a more general statement regarding Tentacruel's defensive inability to consistently check key threats most people want it to then mention examples of said threats then cherry pick the most prominent (Scizor / Coba etc) and talk about getting primary checks for those.

Probably should highly recommend Ground-types here. Electric-immunity plays out a lot differently than just Electric-resists and most are good SR setters so they could form an entry hazard core with tenta.
Sorry missed this initially, just implement this please ty.

[OVERVIEW]

Tentacruel's good Water/Poison defensive typing which allow it to check threats such as Infernape and Scizor, as well as access to Rapid Spin, are what really set it apart from other Water-types in the tier. Additionally, it has good utility options in Toxic Spikes and Haze, as well as Knock Off, which give it the ability to support different playstyles and archetypes. Also, a good speed tier lets Tentacruel outspeed and heavily chip down threats to balance such as Mamoswine and Nidoking before going down without much investment. However, subpar 80/65 physical bulk, and a lack of recovery outside of Z-Haze, leave it hard pressed to check threats such as Scizor or Cobalion over the course of a game and is reliant on teammates to serve as primary checks. Tentacruel’s weakness to a common offensive typing in Ground-type, a typing most Stealth Rock setters have, makes it more risky to remove hazards, even if they are forced out by Tentacruel’s Scald. Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner, due to the fact Starmie has a much higher offensive presence and can switch into common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon or Swampert reliably., even if they don’t like coming in on Tentacruel’s Scald directly. Tentacruel’s low damage output leaves it open to bulky setup users, such as Reuniclus or Latias, even though Haze will deny their boosts if need be.

The bolded part should be removed, as this is already both implied and said earlier in the introduction.

Scald is your main means of damaging opposing teams, and has the added benefit of being able to severely crippling physical attackers with a burn. Rapid Spin is to allow Tentacruel to remove hazards from your side of the field, such as Stealth Rock or Spikes. Haze allows Tentacruel to force out certain Pokemon that are reliant on setup, such as Suicune or Swords Dance Scizor. Sludge Bomb is a moderately strong secondary STAB that most notably hits Primarina, as well as targets such as Rotom-C and Mega Altaria for super-effective damage. Toxic Spikes can wear down opposing teams with status. Knock Off hits common Tentacruel switch-ins, such as Empoleon or Blissey, and removes their item, which can be useful for wearing them down over time.

Bolded part kinda makes it sound like Knock Off actually does damage to them, which it really doesn't, so just say "Knock Off removes items from Pokemon such as Empoleon and Blissey.." or something along those lines.

Set Details
========

144 EVs invested in Speed and a Timid nature let Tentacruel outspeed Rotom-H and Rotom-C, as well as threats such as Mamoswine and Nidoking. The remaining EVs are placed in HP and Defense to maximize Tentacruel’s physical bulk. Black Sludge is a means of passive recovery, increasing its longetivity. Icium Z with Haze is a one-time full restoration of Tentacruel’s health that also helps it reduce Knock Off damage from threats such as Scizor, but should only be used if there are no other Z-move users on the team. Clear Body aids Tentacruel in removing hazards against Sticky Webs, due to a lack of a stat drop. A slightly bulkier spread of 252 HP / 160 Defense / 96 Speed with a Timid nature may be used to only creep Mamoswine and Chandelure if you don’t need the extra speed.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its lack of recovery, Tentacruel should be preserved until necessary, and as such, it should only be using coming in on forced switches and also Pokémon who cannot do meaningful damage to it, such as Scizor locked into Bullet Punch, or defensive threats such as Alomomola. Tentacruel additionally shouldn’t be attempting to Rapid Spin on most Stealth Rock setters, as they can heavily damage or outright KO Tentacruel. Tentacruel can be used to revenge kill weakened foes such as Mamoswine or Rotom-C if need be but generally shouldn’t be taking them on because Tentacruel being unable to OHKO most threats. Knock Off is a very useful tool to scout for items such as seeing whether or not Latias has a Z Move. It also can be used to cripple threats such as Empoleon and Choice Specs Kyurem, who rely on their items, and often switch directly into Tentacruel. Knock Off is also extremely useful for chipping down bulkier threats such as Blissey by removing their Leftovers. Toxic Spikes are important when trying to break through bulkier archetypes, so try to set them as early as possible when facing them.

Specify that it's Tentacruel's HP that should be preserved, kinda nitpicky but this sentence variation is slightly different and could have a wrong meaning.

Team Options
========

Teammates that appreciate Tentacruel’s hazard removal, such as Mega Aerodactyl or Togekiss, make good partners. Ground type answers such as Moltres and Hydreigon can punish common Tentacruel checks such as Krookodile and Swampert. Steel-types such as Mega Aggron and Bronzong can deal with troublesome Dragon and Psychic-type Pokemon such as Latias or Kyurem that commonly switch into Tentacruel. Additionally, Pursuit support to trap Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Gengar or Starmie and removing them in the form of threats such as Mega Aerodactyl or Choice Scarf Krookodile pair well with Tentacruel. Pokemon who enjoy Toxic Spikes chipping down opposing teams, such as Kyurem and Raikou, make good partners. Moltres is a good option due to the fact it takes on Scizor and most Fighting-type threats reliably, provided Tentacruel removes hazards. Fairy-types such as Mega Altaria or Togekiss make excellent partners due to their ability to take on Dragon-types like Hydreigon, and also Fighting-types Tentacruel shouldn’t be taking on due to its lack of recovery, such as Terrakion or Kommo-O. Additionally, Florges and Sylveon can provide Wish support, furthering Tentacruel’s longetivity. Tentacruel is unable to check threats such as Scizor, Primarina, and Cobalion over time, so hard checks to those threats, such as Mega Slowbro and Doublade for Cobalion or Mega Aggron for Scizor can greatly make up for Tentacruel’s shortcomings defensively. Lastly, Electric immunities in the form of Ground-types such as Mamoswine or Hippowdon fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats such as Manectric-Mega who would otherwise prove troublesome, as well as forming entry hazard cores with Tentacruel, due to their ability to reliably set Stealth Rock.

Mention another non-Flying type example next to these, so something like Kyurem or Chandelure works.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A slower, bulkier spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe with a Bold nature is a good option to take hits such as Choice Band Scizor U-Turn better, but only if you don’t need the speed for Nidoking or Mamoswine. Toxic can reliably deter switchins from threats such as Latias and Mega Manectric, but it isn’t as useful as the options listed. An offensive set is possible, but other water types such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise outclass it due to their better coverage and overall damage output. Acid Spray can be used to punish setup sweepers and slower pokemon such as Alomomola for coming in on Tentacruel, but its generally not as good nor consistent as the options listed on the set. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option to beat Roost Scizor in a one-on-one, but is generally useless otherwise. Sludge Wave is a slightly stronger alternative that also hits Pokemon with Bulletproof such as Kommo-O and Chesnaught, but Sludge Bomb’s higher chance to Poison makes it the better option in most, if not all circumstances.

I would rather you use a different example here, because you don't really want to be switching a Pokemon like Tentacruel into a CB U-turn considering it's easily taken advantage of by a ton of common Scizor teammates. Replace with Earthquake from Mega Aerodactyl or with Close Combat from Terrakion, either one works.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type threats such as Starmie, Reuniclus, and Celebi can come in on Tentacruel relatively freely due to its low damage output, force it out and can even setup in the case of the latter two. Celebi, Latias and Offensive Starmie, however dislike both having their set revealed via Knock Off, or being chipped down and even poisoned from Sludge Bomb.

**Electric-types**: Rotom-C and Mega Manectric can freely pivot into Scald, and use Tentacruel for free momentum with Volt Switch as Tentacruel switches out, although the former fears Sludge Bomb. Raikou in particular, can use Tentacruel as setup fodder as it switches out.

**Ground-types**: Threats such as Krookodile and Swampert can force out Tentacruel with powerful Ground-type attacks. They cannot switch into Scald, however.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-type threats such as Latias and Hydreigon can freely come into Tentacruel, and force it out with threat of heavy damage. However, they all fear having their items removed, and physical attacking Dragon-type threats such as Haxorus and Mega Altaria fear a potential burn from Scald.

**Offensive Pressure**: Stronger Pokemon, such as Choice Band Terrakion and Infernape can easily 2HKO Tentacruel after Stealth Rock, which can prove troublesome. Additionally, super effective coverage such as Mega Aerodactyl Earthquake or Nihilego running Electric-type coverage can pick off Tentacruel after mild chip damage.

(This is probably a QP, but is it worth mentioning that it can remove Toxic Spikes easily since it can just do it by switching in? Not too much of an expert, but jsut my two cents)

[OVERVIEW]

Tentacruel's good Water/Poison defensive typing, (AC) which allows it to check threats such as Infernape and Scizor, as well as access (possibly "as well as" --> "and") to Rapid Spin, (RC) are what really set it apart from other Water-types in the tier. Additionally, it has good utility options in Toxic Spikes and Haze, as well as Knock Off (Might be good to change this to "Toxic Spikes, Haze, and Knock Off" to avoid repeating "as well as".), which give it the ability to support different playstyles and archetypes. Also, a A good speed tier also lets Tentacruel outspeed and heavily chip down threats to balance such as Mamoswine and Nidoking before going down without much investment (would recommend removal of either "before going down" or "without much investment", as both in that sequence sounds very odd. It might work by shuffling the components of the sentence, but I cannot see a satisfactory one at the moment.). However, subpar 80/65 physical bulk, (RC) and a lack of recovery outside of Z-Haze, (RC) leave it hard pressed to check threats such as Scizor or Cobalion over the course of a game, (AC) and it is (possibly better to switch "and (it) is" --> "making it".) reliant on teammates to serve as primary checks. Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner, due to the fact that (possibly better to change "due to the fact that" --> "because") Starmie has a much higher offensive presence (Expression note: it is a bit odd to use the comparative "higher" to describe "offensive presence" (as opposed to "offenses"), suggest "greater".) and can reliably switch into common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon or and Swampert ("Users" is plural, thus the follow-up must be plural as well.) reliably (Perhaps mention reliable recovery as a boon for Starmie too?). Tentacruel’s low damage output also leaves it open to bulky setup users, such as Reuniclus or Latias, even though Haze will deny their boosts if need be. (Completely irrelevant note: I have seen Reuniclus so much in OU that I am positively shocked it is RUBL lol)

Scald is your main means of damaging opposing teams, (RC) and has the added benefit of being able to severely crippling cripple physical attackers with a burn. Rapid Spin is to allow Tentacruel to remove hazardssuch as Stealth Rock and Spikes from your side of the field, such as Stealth Rock or Spikes (shuffled so as to avoid confusion in meaning due to position of example; furthermore or --> and because "hazards" is plural.). Haze allows Tentacruel to force out certain Pokemon that are reliant on setup, such as Suicune or and Swords Dance Scizor ("certain Pokemon" implies plural, so or --> and). Sludge Bomb is a moderately strong secondary STAB that most notably hits Primarina, as well as targets such as Rotom-C and Mega Altaria, (AC) for super-effective damage. Toxic Spikes can wear down opposing teams with status. Knock Off removes the item from common Tentacruel switch-ins, such as Blissey or and Empoleon, (AC) ("switch-ins" is plural, so or --> and) which can be useful for wearing them down over time.

Clear Body aids Tentacruel in removing hazards against Sticky Webs, due to a lack of a stat drop (Might possibly be better to change it from ", due to a lack of a stat drop" to "by blocking the Speed drop" to keep it specific to what you are trying to say.) (Completely irrelevant note, but I was told in early SM to use Liquid Ooze, so I wasted an Ability Capsule to change my shiny one to that; now I'm sad :(). A slightly bulkier spread of 252 HP / 160 Defense / 96 Speed (pretty sure you can use the abbreviations here, i.e. 252 HP/160 Def/96 Spe since you're giving the EV spread, rather than referring to the stats themselves.) with a Timid nature may be used to only creep Mamoswine and Chandelure if you don’t need the extra speed.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its lack of recovery, Tentacruel’s HP should be preserved until necessary, (RC) and , (AC)as such, it should only be using used coming in (possibly "coming in" --> "to come in") on forced switches and also Pokemon (removed aigu on "e") who cannot do meaningful damage to it, such as Scizor locked into Bullet Punch, or and (Might have lost the required flow, but since Pokemon before is plural, this should be plural as well.) defensive threats such as Alomomola. Additionally, Tentacruel additionally shouldn’t be attempting to Rapid Spin on most Stealth Rock setters, as they can heavily damage or outright KO Tentacruel. Tentacruel can be used to revenge kill weakened foes such as Mamoswine or Rotom-C if need be, (AC) but generally shouldn’t be taking them on because Tentacruel being is unable to OHKO most threats (Might be misreading the intention, but you mention "to revenge kill weakened foes", then add this caveat - is it necessary?). Knock Off is a very useful tool to scout for items, (AC) such as seeing whether or not Latias has a Z Move. It also can be used to cripple threats such as Empoleon and Choice Specs Kyurem, (RC) who rely on their items, and often switch directly into Tentacruel. Knock Off is also extremely useful for chipping down bulkier threats, (AC) such as Blissey, (AC) by removing their Leftovers. Toxic Spikes are important when trying to break through bulkier archetypes, so try to set them as early as possible when facing them.

Teammates that appreciate Tentacruel’s hazard removal, such as Kyurem, Mega Aerodactyl, or and Togekiss (plural to plural), make good partners. Ground type answers such as Moltres and Hydreigon can punish common Tentacruel checks such as like Krookodile and Swampert (Changed to avoid double "such as".). Steel-types such as like Mega Aggron and Bronzong (Changed to avoid double "such as".) can deal with troublesome Dragon and Psychic-type Pokemon such as Latias or and (plural to plural) Kyurem that commonly switch into Tentacruel. Additionally, Pursuit support to trap and remove Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Gengar or and (plural to plural) Starmie and removing them in the form of threats such as Mega Aerodactyl or Choice Scarf Krookodile pair well with Tentacruel is appreciated; Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Krookodile serve as good partners for this (the second part of the original sentence became convoluted and lost its fluency and meaning, and I couldn't see a satisfactory way to fix that outside of a complete change.). Pokemon who enjoy Toxic Spikes chipping down opposing teams, such as Kyurem and Raikou, make good partners (possibly add: "if Tentacruel is running the move."). Moltres is a good option due to the fact it takes on Scizor and most Fighting-type threats reliably, provided Tentacruel removes hazards (given you mentioned Moltres before, maybe adding this to the previous bit might be better.). Fairy-types such as Mega Altaria or and (plural to plural) Togekiss make excellent partners due to their ability to take on Dragon-types like Hydreigon, and also Fighting-types such as Terrakion and Kommo-o, which Tentacruel shouldn’t be taking on due to its lack of recovery, such as Terrakion or Kommo-O (shuffled as the sentence became convoluted and became confusing.). Additionally, (Removed "additionally", as you aren't really adding to what you said in the previous sentence. )Florges and Sylveon can provide Wish support, furthering Tentacruel’s longetivity longevity (sp.). Tentacruel is unable to check threats such as Scizor, Primarina, and Cobalion over time, so hard checks to those these threats (possibly "those/these threats" --> just "these"), such as Mega Slowbro and Doublade for Cobalion or and (plural to plural) Mega Aggron for Scizor can greatly make up for Tentacruel’s shortcomings defensively (possibly "shortcomings defensively" --> "defensive shortcomings".). Lastly, Electric immunities in the form of Ground-types such as Mamoswine or and (plural to plural) Hippowdon fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats such as Manectric-Mega Mega Manectric who would otherwise prove troublesome, as well as forming entry hazard cores with Tentacruel, (RC) due to their ability to reliably set Stealth Rock.

A slower, bulkier spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe with a Bold nature is a good option to take hits such as Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat better, but only if you don’t need the speed for Nidoking or Mamoswine. Toxic can reliably deter switch-ins (added hyphen) from threats such as Latias and Mega Manectric, but it isn’t as useful as the options listed. An offensive set is possible, but other Water-types (capitalized "water" and added hyphen) such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise outclass it due to their better coverage and overall damage output. Acid Spray can be used to punish setup sweepers and slower Pokemon (capitalized "pokemon") such as Alomomola for coming in on Tentacruel, but it's (contraction needed here, but would personally recommend the full "it is" in this particular usage.) generally not as good nor consistent as the options listed on the set. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option to beat Roost Scizor in a one-on-one, but is generally useless otherwise. Sludge Wave is a slightly stronger alternative that also hits Pokemon with Bulletproof such as Kommo-o ("o" after the hyphen is never capitalized) and Chesnaught, but Sludge Bomb’s higher chance to poison (removed capital on "poison") makes it the better option in most, if not all, (AC) circumstances.

Additionally, super effective coverage, (AC) such as Mega Aerodactyl's Earthquake or Nihilego running Electric-type coverage moves (changed to avoid double "coverage"), (AC) can pick off Tentacruel after mild chip damage.

Apologies for double AM, only realized this very belatedly as I was doing the edits in a place with no internet. Fascinating analysis.

[OVERVIEW] (tag was already on the op but your check cut it off, something to bear in mind bc it has to be there for upload)

Tentacruel's good Water/Poison Water / Poison (space out dual typings) defensive typing, (AC) which allow allows (typing is singular) it to check threats such as Infernape and Scizor, as well as and access to Rapid Spin, (RC) are what really set it apart from other Water-types in the tier. Additionally, it has good utility options in Toxic Spikes, (AC) and Haze, as well as and Knock Off (I didn't really find anything in this sentence that would require Knock Off to be, for lack of a better term, "separated"), all of which give it the ability to support different playstyles and archetypes. Also, a Its good Speed (stats shoulld be capitalised) tier also lets Tentacruel outspeed and heavily chip down threats to balance (not sure what "balance" is referring to, maybe make that clearer) (balance is a playstyle like offense, bulky offense, or stall and as such is approved to be here) such as Mamoswine and Nidoking before going down without much investment. However, its subpar 80/65 (numbers aren't needed here; upon upload stats are right above the overview) physical bulk, (RC) and a lack of recovery outside of Z-Haze, (RC) leave it hard pressed to check threats such as Scizor or and (threats is plural so use and instead of or to agree with that) Cobalion over the course of a game and is reliant on teammates to serve as primary checks. Tentacruel’s weakness to a common offensive typing in Ground-type, a typing most Stealth Rock setters have, makes it more risky to remove hazards, even if they are forced out by Tentacruel’s Scald. Tentacruel also faces competition from Starmie as a spinner, (RC) due to the fact Starmie has a much higher offensive presence and can switch into common Stealth Rock users such as Hippowdon or and Swampert reliably. Tentacruel’s low damage output leaves it open to becoming setup fodder for bulky setup users, such as Reuniclus or and Latias, even though Haze will deny their boosts if need be.
(This is probably a QP, but is it worth mentioning that it can remove Toxic Spikes easily since it can just do it by switching in? Not too much of an expert, but jsut my two cents) (this works if you want when it's talking about typing. uu qc)

Moves
========

Scald is your Tentacruel's (don't refer to pokemon as you) main means of damaging opposing teams, (RC; only use a comma before and/or/but if both clauses are independent, and the second isn't here) and has the added benefit of being able to severely crippling physical attackers with a burn. Rapid Spin is to allows Tentacruel to remove entry hazards from your side of the field, such as Stealth Rock or and Spikes. Haze allows Tentacruel to force out certain Pokemon that are reliant on setup, such as Suicune or and Swords Dance Scizor. Sludge Bomb is a moderately strong secondary STAB moves (good change but move not moves) that most notably hits Primarina, as well as hits targets such as Rotom-C, (AC) and Mega Altaria, (AC) and most notably Primarina for super-effective super effective (not hyphenated) damage. Toxic Spikes can wear down opposing teams with status poison. Knock Off removes the item from common Tentacruel switch-ins, such as Blissey or and Empoleon, (AC) which can be useful for wearing them down over time.

Set Details
========

144 EVs invested in Speed and a Timid nature let allows (EVs is plural so EVs allow not allows) Tentacruel to outspeed Rotom-H and Rotom-C, as well as threats such as Mamoswine and Nidoking. The remaining EVs are placed in HP and Defense to maximize Tentacruel’s physical bulk. Black Sludge is a means of passive recovery, increasing its longetivity. Icium Z with Haze is a one-time full restoration of Tentacruel’s health that also helps it reduce Knock Off damage from threats such as Scizor, (RC) but should only be used if there are no other Z-Move users on the team. Clear Body aids Tentacruel in removing hazards against Sticky Webs Web, due to a lack of a stat Speed drop. A slightly bulkier spread of 252 HP / 160 Defense / 96 Speed with a Timid nature may be used to only Speed creep Mamoswine and Chandelure if your team deals with faster threats adequately don’t need the extra speed.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its lack of recovery, Tentacruel’s HP should be preserved until necessary, and as such, it should only be using coming in on forced switches and also Pokémon Pokemon (Pokemon is spelled without the accent in write ups) who that (don't refer to pokemon as who) cannot do meaningful damage to it, such as Scizor locked into Bullet Punch, (RC) or defensive threats Pokemon such as Alomomola. Tentacruel additionally shouldn’t be attempting to use Rapid Spin on most Stealth Rock setters, as they can heavily damage or outright KO Tentacruel. (Again, this is kind of a QP thing, but this feels very broad, considering you mentioned before that it has a poor match up against Ground-type Stealth Rock setters) (point is fine bc a lot of them can 1v1 tentacruel but add examples of rockers it can spin on definitely) Tentacruel can be used to revenge kill weakened foes such as Mamoswine or and Rotom-C if need be, (AC) but generally it shouldn’t be taking them on because Tentacruel being is unable to OHKO most threats. Knock Off is a very useful tool to scout for items, (AC) such as seeing whether or not Latias has a Z Move Z-Crystal. (wording of this reads like you keep tenta in on latias so you can say it's on the switch here. uu qc) It also can be used to cripple threats such as Empoleon and Choice Specs Kyurem, (RC) who that rely on their items, (RC) and often switch directly into Tentacruel. Knock Off is also extremely useful for chipping down bulkier threats such as Blissey by removing their Leftovers. (this kinda comes under foes that are reliant on items) Toxic Spikes are important when trying to break through bulkier archetypes, so try to set them as early as possible when facing them.

Team Options
========

Teammates that appreciate Tentacruel’s entry hazard removal, such as Kyurem, Mega Aerodactyl, or and Togekiss, make good partners. Ground-type (add hyphen) answers such as Moltres and Hydreigon can punish common Tentacruel checks such as like Krookodile and Swampert. Steel-types such as Mega Aggron and Bronzong can deal with troublesome Dragon- (add hyphen) and Psychic-type Pokemon such as like Latias or and Kyurem that commonly switch into Tentacruel. (There was nothing wrong with the such as usage but it got pretty repetitive, again don't change them if you think they're fine. This also applies to the rest of your usage of it coming up) Additionally, Pursuit support from teammates such as Mega Aerodactyl and Choice Scarf Krookodile can to trap problematic Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Starmie and Gengar or Starmie and removing remove them in the form of threats such as Mega Aerodactyl or Choice Scarf Krookodile pair well with Tentacruel. (this line runs on a lot and is difficult to follow) Pokemon who that enjoy Toxic Spikes chipping down opposing teams, such as Kyurem and Raikou, make good partners. Moltres is a good option due to the fact because it takes on Scizor and most Fighting-type threats reliably, provided Tentacruel removes hazards Stealth Rock for it in return. (molt is immune to every other hazard) Fairy-types, (AC) such as Mega Altaria or and Togekiss, (AC; if you're adding the first you need to add one here to close off the bracketed clause) make excellent partners due to their ability to take on Dragon-types like Hydreigon, (RC) and also Fighting-types Tentacruel shouldn’t be taking on due to its lack of recovery, such as Terrakion or and Kommo-o. Additionally, Florges and Sylveon can provide Wish support, furthering Tentacruel’s longetivity longevity. Tentacruel is unable to check threats such as Scizor, Primarina, and Cobalion over time, so hard checks to those threats, such as Mega Slowbro and Doublade for Cobalion or and Mega Aggron for Scizor, (AC) can greatly make up for Tentacruel’s shortcomings defensively. Lastly, Electric-type immunities (Electric immunity is preferred because you're not immune to the pokemon just the type of move) in the form of Ground-types such as Mamoswine or and Hippowdon (qc comment but mamo + tenta doesn’t actually fit well together so you can replace it with something like scarf krook and reword the rocks part) fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats such as like Mega Manectric-Mega, (AC) who which would otherwise prove be troublesome, as well as forming entry hazard stacking cores with Tentacruel, (RC) due to their ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A slower, bulkier spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe with a Bold nature is a good option to take hits such as like Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat better, but this spread only works if Tentacruel doesn't only if you don’t need the Speed for Nidoking or and Mamoswine. Toxic can reliably deter switch-ins (add hyphen) from threats such as Latias and Mega Manectric, but it isn’t as useful as the options listed. An offensive set is possible, but other water types Water-types such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise outclass it due to their better coverage and overall damage output. Acid Spray can be used to punish setup sweepers and slower pokemon Pokemon such as Alomomola for coming in on Tentacruel, but its it is generally not as good nor consistent as the options listed on the set. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option to beat Roost Scizor in a one-on-one situation (or beat it one-on-one), (RC) but is generally useless otherwise. Sludge Wave is a slightly stronger alternative that also hits Pokemon with Bulletproof such as Kommo-o and Chesnaught, but Sludge Bomb’s higher chance to poison makes it the better option in most, if not all circumstances.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type threats such as Starmie, Reuniclus, and Celebi can come in on Tentacruel relatively freely due to its low damage output, which would force it out, (AC) and can even allow a set (space) up opportunity (amcheck changes kinda change content here and make less sense) in the case of the latter two. Celebi, Latias and offensive Starmie, (RC) (keep it) however, (AC) dislike both having their sets revealed via Knock Off, (RC) and or as well as (as well as isn't really needed to emphasise a point because they're both drawbacks) being chipped down and even poisoned from Sludge Bomb. (celebi has nature cure tho)

**Electric-types**: Rotom-C and Mega Manectric can freely pivot into Scald, (RC) and use Tentacruel for free momentum with Volt Switch as Tentacruel switches out, although the former fears Sludge Bomb. Raikou in particular, (RC) can use Tentacruel as setup fodder as it switches out.

**Ground-types**: Threats such as Krookodile and Swampert can force out Tentacruel with powerful Ground-type attacks. They cannot switch into Scald, however.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-type threats such as Latias and Hydreigon can freely come into Tentacruel, (RC) and force it out with the threat of heavy damage. However, they all fear having their items removed, and physical attacking Dragon-type threats such as Haxorus and Dragon Dance Mega Altaria (malt can be both so clarifying) fear a potential burn from Scald.

**Offensive Pressure**: Stronger Pokemon, (RC) such as Infernape and Choice Band Terrakion and Infernape can easily 2HKO Tentacruel after Stealth Rock, which can prove troublesome. Additionally, super effective coverage such as Mega Aerodactyl's Earthquake or Nihilego's Thunder or Thunderbolt running Electric-type coverage (to match the aero structure) can pick off Tentacruel after mild chip damage.

Lastly, Electric immunities Electric-immune Pokemon in the form of Ground-types such as Gligar and Hippowdon fit well with Tentacruel, taking on threats like Mega Manectric which that would otherwise be troublesome, as well as forming entry hazard stacking cores with Tentacruel due to their ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock.

Other Options
=============

A slower, bulkier spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe with a Bold nature is a good option to take hits like Choice Band Terrakion's Close Combat better, but this spread only works if Tentacruel doesn't the Speed for Nidoking and Mamoswine. Toxic can reliably deter switch-ins from threats such as Latias and Mega Manectric from switching in, but it isn’t as useful as the options listed. An offensive set is possible, but other Water-types such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise outclass it due to their better coverage and overall damage output. Acid Spray can be used to punish setup sweepers and slower Pokemon such as Alomomola for coming in on Tentacruel, but it is generally not as good nor or consistent as the options listed on the set.

===================
**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type threats such as Starmie, Reuniclus, and Celebi can come in on Tentacruel relatively freely due to its low damage output,(space)force it out, and can even allow a set (space) up opportunity in the case of the latter two. Celebi, Latias, (AC) and offensive Starmie, however, dislike having their sets revealed via Knock Off (RC) and or being chipped down and even poisoned from Sludge Bomb.

**Electric-types**: Rotom-C and Mega Manectric can freely pivot into Scald (RC) and use Tentacruel for free momentum with Volt Switch as Tentacruel it switches out, although the former fears Sludge Bomb. Raikou in particular (RC) can use Tentacruel as setup fodder as it switches out.
