Terrakion

Can't Gliscor kill Terakion with Earthquake/wear it down with Fling?

Anyway I don't really see this thing much, which is quite a pity. I suppose it's due to the overwhelming Latios spam, but since Latios has been nominated for Ubers yet again, I think this Pokemon can finally see some use.

That said, Randorosu is (in my opinion) a superior SS Sweeper due to Sand Power, but the troll (seriously it looks like a troll) is probably going to be banned too. So I can predict that this bulldog will be used to great effect in the near future!

Of course, while this Pokemon is awesome, it does have an unfortunate Fighting weak, but hey, Lucario has one too, and its usage hasn't dropped THAT badly. Just keep it away from Conkelderps and Brelooms. So couldn't Gliscor be a pretty decent teammate for this thing? Sure, double Water weak but Gliscor resists their attacks and can Acrofling for massive damage.

Gliscor can be at least 3HKOed by Stone Edge

But if Gliscor (Poison Heal variant) chucks a Toxic Orb at Terrakion with Fling, Terrakion won't like the poison eating away at its HP each turn.

It won't like the ohko (even max/max Gliscor is ohkoed) from +3 Life Orb Stone Edge (or even >80% hit from BALLOON Terakion and Gliscor HAS to be bulky now since 352 hp/296 Def is ohkoed by +3 from Balloon with Stone Edge). Posion won't kill it fast enough before Terakion would rip through you.

I just saw that this thing learns Calm Mind over Bulk Up? What was GF on when they decided that?
The same thing happened to Cobalon, Virizion and Keldeo. A Fighting type without Bulk Up is strange indeed, but at least they get a better alternative in Swords Dance.

Gliscor's EQ: 69.3% - 82.4%

w/Baloon: 0% - 0%

w/an imaginary Bulk Up: 47.1% - 55.7%

+2 Stone Edge to max Impish: 56.5% - 66.7%
w/LO: 73.4% - 86.4%

Yeah, Gliscor is a pretty good Terakion check, but a pretty shitty counter if that's your only plan to beat him.

It probably has to do with them running on all fours, most of the bulk up users have their hands free because they run on their hind legs. The only exceptions would be Rayquaza and Dialga, but they're special in that they are ubers, and ubers are known to be able to do things they normally shouldn't be able to.

Yeah, but these are also the only Fighting type quadrupeds in the whole game, which if you think about is a little weird. When you think of "fighting", and subsequently most likely "martial arts", I picture a variety of punch and hand based moves. So the whole premise is a little weird if you ask me.

Cobalon and Terakion are primarily physical pokemon and Virizion and Keldio are primarily special pokemon. So the latter two learning Calm Mind isn't as far fetched.

And I agree with SJCrew. Bulk Up Terakion would be the most threatening by far. Especially with a natural SpD boost in Sandstorm.

Also, Terakion is based off Porthos, who's supposed to be the physically strongest of the Musketeers. Bulk Up would fit it perfectly for flavour. What's stopping a buff quadruped from flexing its leg muscles a bit?

However, I think it's actually good that Terakion doesn't get Bulk Up. It'd be hell to take down without something like a ScarfToed/Scarf Weather Pokemon who beats 108 base speed. This thing is still good, though.

Hmm... I suppose Breloom can check Terakion with Technipunch too?

While I admit the pokemon is strong, it is hard for smart players to get swept by it. It is very likely to take something of yours down, but it also isn't terribly hard to revenge. Having a plethora of common weaknesses it isn't hard to hurt it tremendously while it stats up one turn and then revenge it with a scarf mon or Mach Punch/Bullet Punch/Aqua Jet. I've honestly never even considered this thing approaching Ubers.

Everyone spams Scizor/Technician Breloom/Roobushin/Random Aqua Jet users for killing Dory, revenging this guy is just a piece of cake. All the stuff at 110+ Speed also Manhandle it including Jaroda, Starmie, Alakazam, Espeon and Doryuzu all of which are very common. I think this guy would just be better off without trying to set up Swords Dance, plainly attacking with CC / Stone Edge.

Or you could just Rock Polish to out speed that whole list ._.
Slap on a LO and watch them all get OHKO'd.

It's been proven that it doesn't need LO. It can already OHKO and 2HKO so many things that these OHKO's and 2HKO's actually don't change with a LO attached. Therefore, Balloon/lefties are the best item, by far

Just explain how this thing can use Close Combat when it clearly lacks the ability to punch, as he has hooves

Close Combat isn't about punching (despite what the animation shows), it's more about just attacking with brute force and not doing anything to defend yourself if the other person attacks.

Because being in a "Close Combat" does not imply that you must use you're hands and feet, it's just demonstrated in that animation because they already had graphics for punching and kicking moves and this was the easiest and simplest way to demonstrate what was said above me.

It also learns X-Scissor somehow
