It would be horrible for me and for Ajax if Luis Suárez would leave, but he deserves a beautiful transfer to a big club if he wants to, after all his hard work for Ajax.
Ajax would be screwed and no longer be a topclub (#1 and #2), but a weak subtopper (#4-#7). Suárez is one of the best players in Eredivisie history. And he's irreplacable. Even if Ajax gets 30 million Euro, the big European stars won't go to the Eredivisie.
Suárez is a versatile attacker, great goalscorer and a real king of the assist. He has a horrible left leg, an awesome right leg and is great at taking free kicks, penalties and corners. He can head in some goals if he stands free without any defender, he's too small and physically weak to be a good head-goalscorer.
Suárez is actually NOT a striker. He can play as a second striker, that does not make him a true central striker. He's a winger.
Positions he can play in different systems.
4-4-2/4-4-1-1: Both wings and shadow/second striker.
4-3-3/4-2-3-1: Both wings and attacking midfielder.
4-4-2-window: Shadow/second striker and attacking midfielder.
He can play on both the left and the right wing, as an attacking midfielder and as a second/shadow striker. Stupid supporters want him to come to "their" club as a central striker for 4-2-3-1, then he will fail horrible, he is a winger by nature, won't stay in the centre, leads a lot of ball loss and he's physically weak.
On the right wing, he stays on the wing and gives assists, scoring less often. He did that before Martin Jol resigned.
As a playmaker or second/shadow striker with freedom to be anywhere on the pitch where he wants, he'll be great, he can score, make actions, go to the flanks and won't have to defend a lot then, then he's a real goal machine, like last season (Ajax played 4-4-1-1/4-4-2, Suárez behind/around a deep striker to hold the ball playing to support Suárez).
On the left flank, he'll be the opposite Arjen Robben: he'll go from left to the centre and shoot with his right leg, he also gives a lot of assists from the left flank.
He doesn't have Messi-like wonder actions, but often gets the ball on the clutch. Seems like luck, but it is on purpose and not lucky. And it's very effective.
Beware, Suárez has awful behaviour. He always does his best on the pitch and has a perfect mentality, but he goes too far trying to win and misbehaves. He's the one and only worldwide king of the schwalbe, and he runs to the referee to complain after every fool made on an Ajax player, complaining how badly the Ajax player has been hurt and the culprit needing a red card. He also makes handball saves, think about the World Cup, Uruguay - Ghana, handball. He also bit PSV midfielder Otman Bakkal (Ajax - PSV, 0-0), after Rasmus Lindgren (Ajax midfielder) got undeserved red, ref wanted to give yellow, Bakkal complained to ref, Lindgren got red, Suárez raged out and bit Bakkal.
Do NEVER believe "De Telegraaf", it's a rumor newspaper and it sucks, no quality news, only gossip, lies and rumors.
In my opinion, he has always played the best on the left flank, so he'd be great for Liverpools 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1-systems.
I don't think Suárez should go to the Premier League, which is a physical competition. As a second striker he might make it, but I don't expect miracles.
