Ajax - ADO Den Haag 0-1

A disgrace. ADO won deserved and could've won bigger, but Maarten Stekelenburg saved Ajax. Luis Suárez gave some good passes and gave Siem de Jong and Mounir El Hamdaoui hundred percent chances, but they missed. ADO got more chances. Some players (Anita, V/D Wiel, Sulejmani, Emanuelson, De Jong, De Zeeuw) didn't do their best. In the 45th minute, Wesley Verhoek became matchwinner with a wondergoal, terrible defended by Demy de Zeeuw, who allowed his direct opponent to give the assist. Ajax should've gotten two penalties, but didn't get them. The referee was against Ajax, but the players screwed it. Unnecessay ball loss and not the will to win.

4-2-3-1

Player ratings. Substitutes in bold.

Maarten Stekelenburg 8
MOTM, saved Ajax.

Gergory Van Der Wiel 4
"VDW" got injured after 17 minutes, in those 17 minutes, he was awful.

Oleguer 6
Substituted V/D Wiel. The former Barcelona defender showed he deserved to be in the starting lineup, and not VDW. But Martin Jol likes the f*cking arrogant VDW for some reason.

André Ooijer 5
One of the less bad players. Made a lot of mistakes and was saved by the goalie.

Jan Vertonghen 7
Was on the half of ADO a lot, and did his defensive duties.

Vurnon Anita 3
Showed why he got substituted in halftime.

Miralem Sulejmani 4
He played left winger, left winger Emanuelson was left back in the second half. Not a single good action.

Rasmus Lindgren 6
Did his best and made no mistake.

Demy de Zeeuw 2
Got substituted in the 66th minute. Nobody understood why that didn't happer earlier.

Christian Eriksen 6
Worked hard and was much better than De Zeeuw. Not really good, but not below average.

Luis Suárez 7
Worked hard and could've gotten a lot of assists. But if others don't finish them, they're not assists. Always puts in 100% effort and does that 90 minutes+injury time.

Siem de Jong 2
F*cking arrogant egoistic asshole. I can't say anything else.

Urby Emanuelson 1
Why didn't he get substituted? Why is he so often in the starting lineup?

Mounir El Hamdaoui 4
He really tried, but nothing went well today.

You all probably know Martin Jol (former Tottenham coach). It seems like he's going to resign or get fired soon.

In the TV show Studio Voetbal, presenter Jack van Gelder (often, when he says a rumor about Ajax, the next day the news is oficially confirmed, his rumors are often facts) said Martin Jol thinks he can't improve Ajax. Also, the chairman isn't pleased with the results. "Things are going to happen, and Frank Rijkaard (former coach of the Dutch national team, Barcelona and Galatasaray, former Ajax player, loved by the supporters) has been seen getting out of his car near the Amsterdam ArenA (Ajax stadium). Tomorrow Ajax will have some big news to unveil."

Rijkaard has been linked to Ajax before, just before the BMJ signed his Ajax contract.

Also, Ronald Koeman (former Ajax, Vitesse, PSV, Benfica and Valencia coach) is linked to Ajax. Stupid, he failed for every club where he worked and has been fired/resigned for all clubs.

After losing two times in a row (Auxerre, CL, 2-1 and ADO, Eredivisie, 0-1), the Ajax supporters want Jol to be sacked. Also, a lot of players don't do their best.

Now, on a lot of sites, forums and television programmes, people are speculating about it. I'm afraid if he loses/draws to Veendam (Thursday, cup match at home to a terrible team from a division below with semipros, but in the current shape Ajax can lose to everybody) and/or AZ (Sunday, hard away game against a subtopper in good shape which will be very hard), and he hasn't resigned yet, the chairman will probably fire Jol.

It isn't Martin Jols fault: some players never do their best. Urby Emanuelson is a good example. He's no better than six years (and five different coaches) ago. Jol is a good motivator, but some players are costing him his job and his good reputation.

Jol deserves to stay. He's not guilty. The unmotivated players should go to the chairman and admit they didn't do their best. And they should say "don't give us our wage this month" and they have to apologize to the supporters and coach. And then start working for their money.

Birmingham City and Getafe are said to be interested in Martin Jol.

Reaching the CL and winning the Dutch cup with Ajax, his Tottenham and HSV achievements and getting two Dutch relegation candidates (RKC Waalwijk and Roda JC) to the subtop in the nineties.

I hope Martin Jol can stay and If he wouldn't stay, I hope Tony Soprano be loved by his new club and he deserves to be as sucessfull as with Tottenham and his last year for Ajax.

I hope the guilty players stop thinking "we get our money, how we play and winning or losing doesn't matter" and they work hard and save Martin Jol, together with hard working players and they defeat AZ with at least 0-3. But there is no reason to expect that at this moment.

Maybe Fabio Capello quit now, Redknapp England coach and Jol back to White Hart Lane, it would be perfect (but that's fantasizing).

Nothing is sure yet, but there are a lot of signs Martin Jol will be fired on Sunday.

MARTIN JOL HAS TO STAY!

Martin Jol, Martin Jol, Martin Martin Jol he's got no hair but we don't care Martin Martin Jol.

I love Martin Jol, Martin Jol loves me, I love Martin Jooooll Martin Jol loves me.

Singing i love Martin Jol,
Going to lead the boys into europe baby.
I love Martin Jol,
Going to lead the boys to Wembely

I don't know, I didn't make up the rumor. But I think the Birmingham City chairman is unhappy with the 15th place (9th last season), and the Getafe chairman is unhappy with the 11th place (6th last season).

i cant see why the birmingham chairman is unhappy with 15th, the table is so tight
6th to 18th is split by a mere 5 points, the team that were 5th last week are now 10th and birmingham have a strong squad they should finish around 9th again.
although this season looks like a tight one, even 2 of the new teams have been in the top 4 at some point all have been 5th at some point (newcastle being there currently, west brom last week, blackpool a few weeks ago)
so one or two wins and they will be up there
they are also in the last 8 for the league cup, i dont see any issues with birmingham.
and there has been zero news here about it.
speaking of blackpool
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11728_6488431,00.html
i know this guy is a joker, but a top 4 finish? o.O

WTF? Blackpool will fight against relegation for sure.

The "big news" didn't have to do with Martin Jol, what a relief.

It was, that Ajax was trying to get a European youth/reserves competition. Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Celtic and Sporting Lissabon are trying to get that too.

Not that big news.

I also don't see what's wrong with Birmingham. In the current season in the Premier League, you can be a subtopper now and a week later you might be in relegation trouble, such a small difference.

But I didn't bring up the rumor, the Studio Voetbal presenter did. Normally he's right. When he said three months ago André Ooijer (free agent back then) would sign a deal for Ajax, there were no signs, rumors or clues of that. And a day later, Ooijer was presented to the public and signed a deal. Also, he predicted the firing of a lot of coaches in the Eredivisie.

Come on Ajax, defeat those semipros Thursday and destroy AZ. And then, Martin Jol can stay.

While I certainly cant see blackpool near the top 4, I doubt theyll be fighting relegation, they have a pretty good attack, and even if their defense is shitty theyre still a cut above the 3 W's of relegation (Wigan, West Ham, Wolves) and theyre also significantly better than birmingham, stoke, and blackburn. I see Blackpool finishing anywhere from 7th to 12th.

PS: Asamoah Gyan scoring again today.

fukkkk arsenal :(

anyway I'm thinking a mid table finish for Blackpool, sure they're the new boys, but damn they're pretty solid. Better than a fair few clubs already. Of course, Europe might be a stretch for them, but eh at least no relegation.

What the hell is Sporting Lissabon??? It's Sporting Club of Portugal, where is Lissabon here??? That's the name they gave on PES before it was licensed

Does that really matte to you? Sporting Portugal/Lissabon/Whatever, the club has so many names.

It's the club I support so yes, it matters. And as far as I know, Lissabon was only invented because they couldn't write Lisbon, the city this club is in (it's the capital of Portugal so every European should know its name - yes, some Americans may not know what I'm talking about...).

I am Dutch/European, not American.

But I've read Lisbon/Lissabon in so many ways and Sporting Portugal/Sporting Lissabon/Sporting Club of Portugal in so many ways I don't know what's right anymore. Sorry.

Manchester United Linked With Move for £22m Rated Dutch International Pair

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be considering a move for young Ajax pair Gregory van der Wiel and Siem de Jong. The Dutch international duo are considered two of the hottest prospects in Dutch football and have both been linked with a move away from the cash strapped Amsterdam side.

Many believe that the Old Trafford supremo is looking to rejuvenate the club by building up a new generation of talent that can take the baton from the older more established members of Ferguson’s side who are moving towards the end of their glittering careers.

Gregory van der Wiel impressed many with his performances at the World Cup and has a good grounding of top level experience for a player of his age, he could be seen as an ideal successor for Gary Neville with Brazilian youngster Rafael still to prove himself as a consistent performer. The 22 year old has also been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Arsenal. Siem de Jong is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and won his first senior cap against Ukraine in August and is an exciting prospect.

Given the financial problems Martin Jol finds himself having to deal with, Ajax may feel it more acceptable to allow the likes of van der Wiel and de Jong to leave rather than lose more established stars like Maarten Stekelenburg and Luis Suarez.
The pair are valued at a combined fee of around £22m.

Some information from me about them.

Gregory van der Wiel is a right back. He gets involved with the attack often, but defensive, he isn't stable enough yet. Also, he is very arrogant. When Ajax lost away to Auxerre, the supporters were angry and he checked them off, then wrote on Twitter "if u give me respect i respect u". He is not bigger than the club and he is an asshole. He thinks music, twitter and tattoos are more important than football. However, he is first right back of the Dutch national team. He is 22 years old. In the season 2009/2010 and in South Africa, he was awesome. However, since the start of season 2010/2011 he doesn't put effort in football anymore and hasn't played a good match since the World Cup final. Last season, he scored 6 goals in 50 matches. This season, 1 goal in 23 matches.

Siem de Jong is a "modern attacking midfielder". He is 20 years old. He is not a playmaker like Messi or Xavi, he has no technique, but is a goalgetter. His downside: he never gives an assist, a weak point for a number ten. Comes forward from the midfield and scores for example passes from wingers. His most important weaponis his aerial power, he's a good header. Last season he was great, scoring 17 goals in 34 matches. However, this season he has a shape crisis and scored 4 goals in 21 matches. Almost always his goals are headers out of corners/free kicks from Luis Suárez.

To be honest, altough I am a die-hard Ajax fan, I wouldn't recommend Sir Alex Ferguson to buy them. "VDW" doesn't want to work for his money, he's a spoiled millionaire. De Jong has a shape crisis, and will be associated with Nigel de Jong (no family).

In my eye, both of them aren't ready for it and will never be good enough for ManUtd. They perform awful in the Eredivisie, so why would they stand a chance in the Premier League?

that's why I thought you should know Portugal's capital...

and no problem.

Also, I know nothing about de Jong but Van der Wiel surprised lots of people on the World Cup and I remember thinking he was a good player. Not that Netherlands has good right backs but he seemed to be a good player.

Yellow: Enoh.

Martin Jol, surprisingly still Ajax coach, gave regular starters Mounir El Hamdaoui, Gregory van der Wiel (small injuries), Rasmus Lindgren and André Ooijer rest.

Ajax was the big favourite: Ajax is a Dutch topclub, Veendam is a subtopper in the Jupiler League (division below Eredivisie, terrible niveau, lots of semipros and amateurs playing for professional football clubs).

In the first half, both clubs were terrible. Only two good moments: Luis Suárez hit the crossbar twice, both times with a free kick. Ajax' legendary number 16 wasn't very lucky.

In the second half, Mido (Ahmed Hossam), the fat supersub came on for midfielder Demy de Zeeuw.

Ajax had a tactical change: 4-3-3-system: Mido as a centre forward, Luis Suárez from the right wing and Miralem Sulejmani from left wing. Two attacking midfielders: Christian Eriksen and Siem de Jong (no family of Nigel de Jong). Enoh was the holding midfielder.

Mido, the former Tottenham, Middlesbrough and West Ham United striker headed in a pass from Urby Emanuelson very early in the second half. Veendam lost the belief in a good result. Luis Suárez scored a nice goal and he deserved that. At the end of the match, Christian Eriksen scored the third goal. Jan Vertonghen got some rest by bringing on ex-Blackburn Rovers defender André Ooijer. Former Sunderland, Tottenham, Birmingham and Auxerre midfielder Teemu Tainio replaced the awfully terrible playing ManUtd target Siem de Jong.

Ajax won deserved when looking at the second half.

Funn detail: All players in the starting lineup have at least one cap and are internationals. And the three substitutes too.

What do you guys think about drogba and his malaria? I was shocked to find out, but I dont know much about the disease, except that you have to take the meds a couple days before youre in a country that has malaria mosquitoes, while youre there you continue taking it, and then a couple days after you still take them. So it probably stays in your blood stream a while. So do you think he recently got it or did he have it forever and it just showed up now? Will it affect how many minutes he plays (yes imo)? Will it affect his form right away?

114577_news.jpg

Dutch international Ibrahim Afellay revealed earlier this week that he'd be delighted to play alongside Xavi and Andres Iniesta at Barcelona and reports emanating from The Netherlands suggest that the PSV star could get his desired move to Spain in the January transfer window.

According to a report in Dutch football weekly Voetbal International, who are usually well informed when it comes to PSV, Barcelona have officially approached the Eindhoven side to express their interest in signing Afellay during the winter break.

The Catalan giants are reportedly eager to add some more depth to their midfield in January and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta supposedly sees the 24-year-old Afellay as the perfect addition to Barcelona's squad.

Afellay has an expiring deal with PSV and is reluctant to sign a contract extension with the Dutch giants. Therefore, PSV are ready to cash in on their star player during the January transfer window. They have supposedly set a €4 million asking price for Afellay.

The versatile midfielder has previously been linked with clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Inter and Juventus, but now appears to be on his way to the reigning Spanish champions instead.

Afellay is overrated. In the Dutch competition, he sucks, but in the Dutch national team, he is a great player. He can play as a defensive midfielder, an attacking midfielder, a right winger and a left winger. He is versatile.

AZ - AJAX 2-0

1-0 Wernbloom/74-assist Klavan.
2-0 Sigthórsson/77-assist Schaars.

MATCH DESCRIPTION

The referee was against Ajax, he should've given AZ-midfielder Stijn Schaars a red card three times, horror tackles on VD Wiel, Suárez and Eriksen, but got yellow once. Luis Suárez got yellow for a schwalbe after a Schaars-tackle. Five AZ-yellow cards, all deserved, two could've/should've been red. Ooijers red card was deserved.

In the first half, AZ was better, got some big chances, but Stekelenburg saved Ajax. Luis Suárez hit the crossbar twice, but he and Stekelenburg were the only good ones.

Second half: headers of Wernbloom and Sigthórsson were 1-0 and 2-0 and Stekelenburg was not guilty. Suárez and Stekelenburg are unlucky to play with those assholes.

Martin Jol looked like he was ready to resign in an interview with the Dutch TV channel "Nederland 1" (a news and sport TV channel). It wouldn't be a surprise if Ajax announces Martin Jol resigned/was sacked in a few hours.

Three losses in the last four matches, all four opponents had much less quality compared to Ajax.

The only Ajax players who did their best were El Hamdaoui, Suárez, Eriksen, Lindgren, Vertonghen and Stekelenburg.

PLAYER RATINGS

Maarten Stekelenburg 8
Prevented a 10-0, which would be deserved.

Gregory van der Wiel 1
**** ***, ***** **** **** ******* ******** *** **** *****! ** *** *** *** *** *** ****** ** *** ***!

André Ooijer 1
A red card in the 89th minute and deserved, deserves a 5-match-ban!

Jan Vertonghen 6
One of the best Ajax players, no mistakes.

Vurnon Anita 4
Terrible, guilty of the second goal, could've prevented it easily.

Rasmus Lindgren 6
Prevented two 100% chances to be a goal.

Siem de Jong 3
A lot of ball loss and mistakes.

Luis Suárez 6
Hit the crossbar twice (now 12 times this season) with a great lob and a good free kick, was one of the few who works and gives hundred percent 90 minutes+injury time. He is unlucky to play in a team consisting of f*cking ********.

Christian Eriksen 5
Did his best, but didn't do well. The 18 year old Denmark international was unlucky that AZ and Argentinia goalie Sergio Romero got his good header.

Urby Emanuelson 2

Ball loss and unwilling to werk for his wage.

Mounir El Hamdaoui 4
Did his best, but his good shape is getting less good the last weeks.

Ahmed Mido Hossam 5
Came on as a substitute, was better than Emanuelson, but not good.

Demy de Zeeuw 1
F*ck you!

Miralem Sulejmani 1
Should I say anything about this lazy asshole.

Martin Jol 6
The Ajax coach made a good lineup besides using Siem de Jong and not Teemu Tainio. But it is not his fault players don't do their best. He'll be fired/resign soon because his players are unwilling to work for his money.

Van den Boog promises: "I will not sack Jol"

Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 23:06

Ajax chairman Rik van den Boog fully behind coach Martin Jol. Ajax lost Sunday to visit AZ, 2-0, which marked the second consecutive loss in competitive. "I will not sack Martin Jol, you can hold me to my promise, I hope he'll stay until his contract ends, and maybe longer."

Van den Boog wants to break with the tradition that trainers getting fired to make room in Amsterdam after a series of disappointing results. "We are very happy with Jol, he makes our players better," said the chairman at NUsport. "Of course you can not lose at home to ADO, but I see that as an incident."

"Trainers dismiss after a few defeats, whatever the causes, I do not believe in it." Ajax competition continues Saturday with a home match against PSV captain list. Fred Rutten's team has built up a lead of six points. Runner-up Twente has four points more than Ajax.

Often, when chairmans say things like this, the coach will get sacked.
