Gen 6 The "Are my Pokémon IVs and Nature good?" Thread

A 31 in Atk on a Timid mon is actually rather unfortunate (though less so here since Xerneas resists Foul Play). Your Def is also rather poor, and your SpD is passable but mediocre - I'd pass, honestly.

I just caught a Naive Xerneas for a LO mixed set
IVs: 28/31/12-13/31/31/31
Is this good enough or will the def be a problem?

Tough call. I'm not an expert, so you might want to wait for someone else's opinion.

IMO, I would figure with that low def along with the fact that you're already running a -SpD nature, that would leave Xernias weak on both sides. Tough call though.

I'm actually in a similar boat. I caught this Yveltal:
Rash
30-31 / 30-31 / 16-17 / 30-31 / 30-31 / 28-29

Along with my Def problem, is Spe non-negotiable (and has to be 31)?

I say keep because a spread with mixed offenses, perfect speed, and not godawful everything else is hard to come across. As bad as the defense is, mixed offenses are more important and keep if you don't want to go insane. Ho-oh shits on you anyways.

Toss because Rash is a terrible nature for Yveltal.

Thanks to both of you! Going to be keeping her.

Isn't it a nature I can use for the Taunt set and/or with Assault Vest?

Sucker Punch looks appealing, though Foul Play with Modest is tempting. Also, I want to take advantage of Oblivion Wing since I think it's a neat move.

So with all of that in mind:
1) Which physical move would generally do better in Uber?
2) What nature should I be aiming for if not Rash?
3) What about my IVs; is 31 Speed mandatory?

Nevermind, I wasn't aware neutral Yveltal OHKOs Mewtwo with Sucker Punch. However, yes it should aim for 31 Speed if you are running an offensive set.

I just randomly found this Yveltal from the GTS:
Yveltal - #717 (Bold) : 31 / 8, 10 / 28 / 30 / 31 / 31 Possible Hidden Power Types: Water

I think it's pretty usable. What kind of moveset would be good on it?

Hot damn, that's nice.

Uh, perhaps:

252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Spe @ leftovers
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Rest / Roar
- Sleep Talk / Aromatherapy

Is Mewtwo X even viable at all? Asking for in game purposes (obviously), since things like Psystrike exist, and it won't be usable until Z comes out with move tutors. Timid also allows you to use Y and regular Mewtwo.

do you mean x

Yveltal - #717 (Naive)
HP: 24 - 25
Att: 30 - 31
Def: 30 - 31
SpA: 30 - 31
SpD: 18 - 19
Speed: 24 - 25

Anyone? I think I might keep it because I'm very sick of battling Lysandre and watching the cutscene over and over. Convince me otherwise please.

Reset. That speed with a Naive nature is reason enough.

I hear ya about the speed, and thanks for the reply, but I'm keeping it. I can always do it again after bank comes out here and I just want to finish the game so I can start doing all the fun stuff like breeding competitive teams/playing online. I don't play Ubers anyway so I don't know why I cared :/

First time on here!
I'd just like confirmation on a Xerneas I've recently captured. The IVs are obviously awesome but I'm rattled about its nature.

Xerneas - #716 (Modest) : 31 / 28 - 31 / 30 - 31 / 30 - 31 / 30 - 31 / 30 - 31

What would be a good moveset for this?

Damn that's a nice catch! I would keep it even if Modest isn't your desired nature for the IV's alone. If speed is an issue, you can run Power Herb Geomancy (not really sure if that's viable since I don't play Ubers).

Nothing wrong about Modest at all. Though I would look at its exact IV spread. You might have the rare HP Fire Xerneas, for example.

Though a Xerneas like that just makes me wish that there was a changing nature item or something. lol

You should just catch a Timid Mewtwo in both X and Y, since MMX wants access to his HG/SS and/or BW2 tutor moves (Low Kick or Drain Punch is basically required).
