The Cricket Thread Part Deux

I really don't see the point in dropping Kamran either. Kamran is a pretty decent batsman, and just because he drops catches it's a valid reason to weaken their batting lineup even further? wtf

Kamran Akmal is the 3rd best batsman in the side. Drop him as keeper sure, but surely he deserves his place ahead of Misbah..

[edit] - well that was unanimous..

Have a nice day.

Really Hip? Really?

Man Kohli gets a hundred not out, good stuff. Mahmdullah got another pretty good score not out. I think Tamim Iqbal would be much better if he didn't slog it a bit too much.

This tour was just there to give Bangladesh some practice against better teams. So obviously they are gonna be boring. I mean its a win the toss win the game scenario. T20 is just a lottery btw. You can never predict who will win.

I find it very good to watch Bangladesh play since you never know what they're going to do. They nearly got 300 in this series, which was good to see.

T20 is shit. It's just whoever slog best wins, which is not cricket.

Also lol India 65/7. Even though I'd rather have India win that SL. >:

Um..........I think Test Cricket is the best type of cricket. Very challenging and there is enough time in One day for the match to turn on its head. T20-T20 not my favourite form of cricket.
For me I think it should be 40 overs and all the pitches should be made completely bowler friendly as honestly the quality of bowling is on a wane.

I actually liked Tendulkar's idea of splitting the 50 overs into two 25 over innings. I think they should at least try it, it'd be a very interesting format.

Good batting from Ponting and Clarke. A while ago Aussie had trouble getting a hundred, now they get a 350 partnership and a double hundred. If Pakistan's batting fails (as usual) it'll be gg quite soon methinks.

Also another Smith hundred is always good to see. Too bad he only made 105. >:

/shameless bump.

I like the fight South Africa are showing its refreshing to see.........and the captain leading from the front! If rain doesn't play spoil sport our scoreline of 3-0 will be right on the money.

3-0? Isn't England leading 1-0 (soon to be 1-1) atm?

Anywayz more importantly did anyone read the comments of Sehwag about Bangladesh? Oh man I love Sehwag for these kind of things. Things just spiced up in an otherwise dull series.

There was not even an attempt at civility. There were no standard responses like "they are an upcoming side", "you can't take anyone lightly", or "they have some talented players." Nothing. He just saw the ball and hit it.
I think that was my favourite lol.

Sucks for Boucher to miss out on a hundred. They should have this game in the bag unless Pietersen or someone actually gets a score. :|

A comment some dude made in response to a blog I enjoyed..

Dr Z - Billy Birmingham predicted as such with his satire of the obsession with reverse shots, "the reverse off drive, otherwise know as the on drive". It's just natural for that obsession to have faded and to have been replaced with the current reverse swing terminology. It seems to me that often Pakistan seem to master these 'reverse' trends first. Currently they're obviously working on mastering the reverse catch, pretty much mastered that actually...

Have a nice day.

LOL! Nice! I think Pakistan is the worst fielding outfit in modern day cricket. Their coach doesn't even try to give them fielding practice just keeps saying something about ' grassroot-level problems'. I think he has to realize that no change at the grass root level is going to be made for the foreseeable future, so he has to just try and make sure the country's best batsman and bowlers know to atleast catch a ball.

My best result in fantasy cricket

YEAH!!!

Well, there is still the ODI series to go. I finished 332nd in ENG vs RSA series.

That's the best I've ever done myself. I was hoping and hoping they wouldn't keep opening with Prince so he could get some runs. ;_; Also it's so fucking hard to keep within the constraints of $1m and have a reasonably good team I didn't want to change anything and fuck it all up.

Also Morne Morkel = best $70,000 purchase ever?

Was very impressed with the Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah 108-run Partnership. If I were Sehwag I would want to get to 250 in the 1st session then all out attack until 1 hour after tea and let Zaheer and Ishant have a go at the Bangladeshi line up. Ofcourse this is without factoring in light which is really unpredictable.
