So any favourites for the champion trophy?..

I see Australia, India, SA and Sri Lanka in the semi's. NZ and Pak are the dark horses. NZ in particular with Bond back look pretty decent.

Obviously backing England.

I think Pakistan have more of a chance than people give them credit for. India are favourites IMO, followed by SA, then Sri Lanka and Australia.

me said:
I'm not that fussed about the ODIs, Aussies will probably steamroll us

I called it

In my biased opinion I think Australia will win. Other than that I think SA stands a good chance. Pakistan and New Zealand are pretty good at limited overs and have the capacity to suprise a few teams.

Inda and sri lanka have pretty awesome odi teams as well, it could be a very good tournament..

I hope so because watching ODIs has been pretty unbearable lately.

Have a nice day.

Anyone else got a Cricinfo fantasy team for the Champions Trophy? Mine looks like

Joe Denly
Misbah Ul-Haq
Ricky Ponting *TP
Jessie Ryder
Cameron White
Graeme Swann
Kumar Sangakkara
Mohammad Asif
Graeme Onions
Nathan Hauritz
Wayne Parnell

It's OK, my bowling is a little weak, and I'm over-relying on English players =( but it's really the most informed decision I can make and a lot of these players came pretty cheap. Denly, White, Onions, Parnell...

That's actually a plausible team.. It kinda makes me think this might be good for fantasy since we wont be forced to buy minnow players..

Well aside from the english of course..

Have a nice day.

Go India!!!! When is the semi-finals, like what date? I think I'll buy the Cricket Package and probably watch.
The semi's are on October 2nd and 3rd. I would get it on payperview too but since school started Im not gonna waste my money. Since the matches will be shown at a time when I will be in school.

It seemws the English aren't the only ones known for their dry wit.

As for the league, whoever makes it needs to send invitations out, so just posting a link isn't going to cut it :/

I made a team in the fantasy it may change before it starts. I'm pretty happy with it :)

Andrew Strauss
Ricky Ponting (c)
Michael Hussey
Martin Guptill
Shane Watson
Shoab Malik
Jacob Oram
Tim Paine
Brett Lee
Praveen Kumar
Graeme Onions

You're obviously Australian, heh. What are the odds of Ponting, Hussey, Watson and Paine all getting lots of points in one innings?

Jima, mail yourself an invite. There will be something called a LPIN in it, post that here.

We can all directly join then.
