I'm feeling bad for Benn, banned for 2 ODI's. Is it just me that always when Aussie players are in the dock, they get away lightly. Eg. Hayden and Symonds earlier last year and Haddin and Johnson now...

Agreed! I saw a bit of the video and Johnson pushed Benn first. Last year Gambhir got banned and watson was cut only 10% match fee? That was such BS...
 
There is always unfair advantage to the Aussies when it comes to banning them. I think Pointing will play so there is no issues there. India's bowling line up should look like

Ishant Sharma | Opening Bowlers
Zaheer Khan |
Sreesanth
Amit Mishra
Harbajan Singh

I also think Gambhir should open with Sehwag and Sachin should come 1 down.
 
No, Sachin should open. Sreesanth has swine flu, he can't bowl.
Ishant Sharma called as backup for Sreesanth. Karthik called in to replace Dhoni.
Dhoni banned for the Cuttack and Kolkata ODI's for slow over rate. Unlucky India, India were on a good over rate till the 42nd over, Zaheer and Nehra screwed it up. Praveen Kumar completed his overs quickly, but India bowled only 8 overs in the last hour...
 
No Sachin should still open. The only change I see is Ishant instead of Praveen Kumar. Well losing Dhoni is pretty bad but at least Yuvraj might come back (hopefully).
 
So we're 2-1 ahead now, pretty easy win though I'm sad that Sachin was 96*. Jadeja did well to see Sri Lanka slump from 165-1 to 239-10.
 
I woke up at 5:30 in the morning and SL were around 170/2 in like 24 overs....

and I was like ok this is gonna be hard. But all of a sudden they collapsed. Also I hate Karthik for hitting that six <_<
 
Are Pakistan expected to put up any amount of fight against the Aussies starting on Boxing Day?

West Indies showed glimpses of fight... but Pakistan? I predict a 3-0 whitewash.
 
Pakistan have a better bowling line-up and Aussies a better batting line-up. Should be interesting. Pakistan aren't doing themselves any favours by keeping keeping Younis Khan out. And someone plz convince Afridi he should play test matches ._.

Best quick of his generation. Though I guess to be fair it was his action that generated the pace and his action that ripped himself to shreds. He really is a cool dude as well, I have no end of respect for the guy.

Nice twin 100's from Gambhir and Kholi. I saw him play a few innings before but he threw away his wickets when he was battling in 20's and 30's. Not today though =)

India win the series! I am expecting some fireworks in the last ODI from Sehwag and co to end of a very good year for Indian Cricket.
 
I agree Flame Blade. Was good to see Kohli score some runs, really happy for him. Both of them showed great maturity when 2 of their highest run getters in the side and in the series got out, they stepped up and led the team without Yuvi and Dhoni. Nice!
 
Last night's match was great, after seeing 3 wickets go down that quickly I definitely did not expect India to get back into it without dhoni and yuvraj, great stuff by gambhir and kohli.
I don't think it'll be a whitewash at all, although I'm not really interested in watching Pak playing now after that ODI series with NZ in the UAE.good god.. choke is an understatement I think.The team on paper has the capability to beat Australia, I just hope the batting can perform... I'm sure the bowlers like always will do their part, the batsmen need to stop underperforming.

It would've been so much better if he played even 15-20 more tests though. He could be 2nd on the list of all-time NZ wicket takers with that many extra games under his belt.

Pointing has become more aggressive. I like it :-) The way Pakistan are going they may lose within the 1st 4 days. Pity about the Delhi pitch, Dhoni is keeping really well though
 
He doesn't need to be more aggressive in tests though, his average is impressive enough playing the way he always has.

In other parts of the world, AB and Boucher are holding up well so far at 233/5 as I speak. New ball coming soon though, so either one of them will go or Boucher will be at 50 soon after. And of course as soon as I type this AB gets out. >_>

Also, is anyone doing fantasy cricket on Cricinfo?

And whoever sneered at the prospect of a 3-0 whitewash... again, funny jokes. From what Ive seen, its quite likely. Pakistan need to play a whole load better than what they have so far. Particularly with the bat... and ball... and yea. lol Fielding is pretty average also.
Don't misunderstand me. Pakistan play a great brand of cricket and play with alot of spirit and put up a nice challenge. Heck, on their day, they'll even beat this Aussie team. But based on what I've seen so far, they're outclassed on Aussie wickets.

And yes, I lol'd HARD when Watto got out run-out. I dun like an all-rounder opening for Australia. Hughes all the way. Heck.. even Marsh could do it.

And the hundreds will come next test. omg.. please let them come next test haha! (Just not to Watto)

I LOL'd too but look Watto is producing the results 7 out of 12 times he's opened hes got a fifty + score. I think you guys are more looking that he is an all rounder and less at his results. I think with the ball he's been good and with the bat great. I like his aggressive style. He was driving really well today. Hope he gets his hundred :-) really deserves it!

On Pakistan, I haven't seen such a poor batting display in a long time. Although I was pretty impressed with Umar Akmal, does he remind you of Mark Waugh, came into the side and outshone his brother. For those who don't know Steve Waugh was dropped only to be replaced by his twin Mark Waugh who went on to a score a hundred on debut.

But I think Pakistan are losing it in their heads even before they walk on the field. Look at Dowlin and Umar Akmal and even Gayle for that matter; anyone who has stood upto the Aussies have scored runs. Was really impressed with Aamer and Asif.
 
The Pakistani Batsman are in an ultra defensive mindset. Well most of them. You can't play like that in international Cricket. They all need to learn from Umar Akmal who has batted brilliantly over the last few months. And Pakistan do have a better bowling line-up. Unfortunately for them one of them is injured and the other is like down on confidence (wtf!)?
 
I really don't see why people don't like Watson. Here's his scores in each innings this year:

62, 53, 51, 34, 40, 0, 96, 48, 89, 30, 93, 75* (current), average: 61.00 (including the runs + not out from the current game).

That's a very consistent performance, getting 30+ every game except for the one duck. He's just got to crack that hundred really. People need to stop giving him shit, he's been fantastic this year. His bowling isn't fantastic, and I think he could probably do without it and focus primarily on batting. He's got 18 wickets in 89 overs this year, which is not very good at all, and I don't think Aussie would miss his bowling if he's getting 75+ each innings while he focuses on batting.
