In a day? What do you mean? Anyway, out of this 5000 runs, 60% would include Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Bermuda, West Indies and Hong Kong.

Please don't pounce on me. I know that England are going to lose the second match also. There are 5 more matches but for England to win, we need to make a few changes. First, WHO THE HELL IS SAMIT PATEL??? Replace him with Graeme Swann. Harmison with Sidebottom. Ian Bell with Alastair Cook. These are the main changes we need to make and it seems like Indian pitches favour batting and it is sad that England lost the toss both the times. Anyway, I shall tell my usual quote, "Come on, ENGLAND!"

Goldfan, I know this is not the right place to ask this but who was that black guy in your former avatar?

Yuvraj 2-0 England. The scoreline is no surprise, but our performances have been embarrassing.

Positives

1. Stuart Broad is such an exciting prospect for the future. Although he misfired in the first match, he compensated with 4 big top order wickets today. A pair of useful contributions with the bat are difficult to value, because the games were lost and the pressure was off.
2. Pietersen has two starts to his name and even bowled Gambhir. His captaincy will understandably be questioned, but a captain is only as good as his bowlers.
3. Owais Shah has finally made a sizeable contribution in the number 3 slot, and will hopefully build on that.
4. Ravi Bopara scored a half century in a lost cause... at number 8.

Negatives

1. Flintoff has 1-116 from 19 overs, Harmison has 3-125 from 17 and Anderson has not even taken a wicket.
2. Our openers are simply not good enough. Neither Prior nor Bell scores particularly quickly and they do not hit enough boundaries while the fielding restrictions are in play.
3. Collingwood has been generally disappointing, although he was economical with the ball today.

What can be done

There is no real substitute option in the bowling reserves. Panesar is arguably our best spinner, but he offers nothing with the bat nor in the field. However, our batting line up can be tinkered with. Bopara is wasted at 8 and should really be opening. I would usually argue that the best batsman needs to bat 3, but we are so liable to lose an early wicket that it is preferable for Pietersen to stay at 4 and avoid the new ball. Flintoff should drop to 6 because Collingwood is much more versatile. My order would be:

1. Bell
2. Bopara
3. Shah
4. Pietersen
5. Collingwood
6. Flintoff
7. Patel
8. Prior
9. Broad

Bell just needs to hang around and rotate the strike.

29 / 3 and 292 /9 :The wickets Tripled, but the runs became Ten times lol
The way Yuvraj's going, England need to get him out ASAP if they want series-winning hopes!

Shame Pietersen doesn't think on those lines right? xD
Also, You could add Flintoff getting back to form (batting) in those positives right?

Anyway, what do you guys think about Ajantha Mendis?
Nothing much can be said about him considering he has played only One ODI series and One/ Two Test Series even though he took quite a good number of wickets in those as there are a lot of guys who have created such impressions and then faded out quickly... Atleast, he doesn't chuck like Murali to take wickets :)

xD Trevor Macdonald. He's a "journalist" in england. He does ITV news and such like, a lot of people think he's boring. I don't so I had him there for a bit.

On a side not. Holy fuck something save us.

that is not true, England won the toss in the first match, i really don't see England winning this series, in the next two games or so India will be with Ishant sharma and Sachin, although the way Yuvi is going i doubt they will be needed, lol.

Regarding Mendis he is a great bowler so far, but in about a year or so when all the teams have faced him he will be less affective.

EDIT: regarding Alastair cook, i wouldn't even bother with him, Zaheer loves Left handers first up, the guy has got the likes of Gream smith, Sangakara, Hayden alot of times

Oh, indeed Zaheer loves left handers, Gilchrist scoring Zaheer for 15 runs in World Cup03(If you remember). Regarding Medis, I feel Mendis bowls straight balls like Kumble and gets his wickets. I've got nothing much to say about him.

Taxie either you are a horrible troll or you are horribly dumb. That happened ONE time and even Gilchrist struggled playing against Zaheer for the most part of his career.

About Mendis, that guy looks class. He can only improve and looks very eager to learn. Also, Taxie, Mendis doesnt ball "straight balls" lol. He bowls something called a top spinner really well with his carrom ball release. he can spin the ball a lot too (left to right, i mean). On some occassions he does that; he seems to have a lot in his bag.

I bowl topspins as well! They're bowled by doing a leg spin movement and releasing the ball in the air so that air spins around uiit.

Zaheer is a bowler who gets owned to batsmen like Gilchrist, Hussey, Hayden, Lara and Smith. From my experience, Zaheer is NOT comfortable with left handers and it is a fact. About Mendis, I agree he at least spins the ball unlike Kumble but his wicket taking balls are STRAIGHT BALLS and nothing else. You can check out the videos in youtube.

This post just shows how much (little) you know about cricket, here is the ODI series back in 2006 between SA and India
http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/rsavind/engine/series/249040.html, now check the scorecards and tell me how zaheer khan struggled against smith? Zaheer got him 3/4 times in the series

Hussey although hasn't gotten out to Zaheer khan but hasn't scored any major amount of runs against him either

Lara i don't think has played Zaheer that much so i can't comment on that

Hayden has struggled, i guess you weren't watching the series between India and Australia, hayden got out 3 times.

Gilchrist- Ok he did good in the 2003 WC final, that was 1 time and you don't know how GOOD that pitch was for battling, other than that i don't think they have faced much.

Sangakara also struggled against Zaheer in the recent India v Sri Lanka series, i think he got out about 3 or 4 times.

So if you really want to play Alastiar Cook i wish him Luck and hope this doesn't happen to him

Zaheer is not a specialist against left handers and it is a "fact". Indians excelled in this test series and Zaheer bowled well against Hayden but that doesen't menat that Zaheer is a specialist against left handers. I'm wrong about Smith. I just picked up a few good left handers but actually Zaheer couldn't take the wicket of Alastair Cook in his debut and he went on scoring centuries in both his innings in the match. Correct? Excelling once doesen't make him great against left handers. I still feel Zaheer is a mediocre bowler who has been rated high by the fanatics and performs well at times.

When did i say he was a specialist against left handers? All i said was that he likes to bowl against left handers and there is a better chance of him picking up a wicket of a left hander than a right hander. Your post is also confusing, Zaheer couldn't take the wicket of Cook in his debut? Cook wasn't even there when Zaheer made his debut, and that match wasn't even Cook's ODI debut, if by debut you mean both of them in a match for the first time then it kinda makes sense, and he only got 1 century against India in the first match, and the rest of the series Zaheer got him out 2 times in ODI's as well as the Tests. Your opinion about Zaheer is not what we are agruing about.

Wow..

Aus all out for 214, and NZ 7/0.

And most of the wickets after the first sessions were just really bad batting by the Australians.. Really, the New Zealand team should be able to put up 300 on this pitch easily, if they dont bat badly..

Unfortunately that is a big if.. But we will have to see, I guess.. Tim Southee was brilliant this morning though. I was surprised he was selected over Kyle Mills, but I guess they knew what they were doing. It makes me wonder why they didnt play him in Bangladesh..

Have a nice day.

England lost to India. As far as the results are concerned. Originally, England won India by D/L method. Just before Yuvraj Singh got out, Dhoni was caught behind and the umpire gave his decision as not out which is wrong. 16 runs is a very low margin and had England got that wicker, England would have been declared the winner. Initially, I didn't want to argue about this series anymore since India were in a very comfortable position with Dhoni and Yuvraj but once Dhoni was not given out, I decided to argue. India 3 England - 0. How unfair. Anyway, cheaters never prosper(India didn't cheat) and England will be back! It is almost impossible now since England have got to win every forthcoming match.

Flame Blade, debut need not always be ODI and I never mentioned ODI.

NZ are already all out. I thought they should've done a lot better then that. Aus are surprisingly on top in this match.

Its an interesting game, the pitch doesnt really seem to be playing all that badly, its just all of the batsmen appear to have forgotten how to bat?

I dont remember the last time NZ batted as well as I thought they should have.. Probably when Sri Lanka were here that one time..

Anyway, on day 3 and 4 NZ should be able to chase 300 comfortably, and they probably wont have to.. The only question is will they?

Have a nice day.
