22 over match lol
this match had quite a few amusing moments
That is so true, I loved the last ball six from pathan and did anyone see the part where sehwag refuses to give his bat to the umpire when they were evening up the dirt at the bowlers crease? I think he refuesed after flintoff stepped on the crease, lol

Did you guys the India-England match a fair contest? To start off, Sehwag's Run-Out was given not-out, and he went on to score some 60 odd runs. The match duration was continuously shortened, etc, but India got 17 Overs of Powerplay to England's 8. Finally, India's score was increased by some 32 runs for some unknown reason. In all, I felt D/L played completely against England, and made the win quite easy for India...

There is some truth to what you said, sehwag should have been out, but the thing is India didn't get 17 overs of powerplay, I think they only got 13 and it seems like India were at a advantage but the thing is India didn't know that the rain would come so they weren't able to fully take advantage of the powerplays, unlike England who had a choice of when to take it. The reason I think ( not fully sure) the target was increased was because of the D/L method and because India didn't lose that many wickets at the end of there innings.

India-Eng Series Called off, no 7-0 :(
Lets hope atleast the Test Series / Champions League T20 doesn't get canceled... But seeing yesterday / today events, would anyone dare come to India to play Cricket risking their lives?

Yes, it is sad that the tournament is canceled since Amish Saheba misses his first chance of lifting a trophy for a series victory. He really deserves it since in the third match, if the caught behind had been given out, England would have won by D/L. The fourth match I feel was totally unfair. The fifth match was won by India and so the series must be 3-2.

TAxie, accept it we were really poor in that series and really we deserved to lose 7-0. DL is a reasonably well accepted and well established method and we had every chance of winning with it if we played well, unfortunately we didn't so what do we really deserve, at the end of the day we were incredibly poor, we showed it throughout the series and are "lucky" not to lose 7-0 which we surely would have if the series had continued. I'm not being pessimistic as I know you think I am ;) but that is the honest truth. England played poorly and would have got a poor result.

So once again NZ have prove their shortcoming with the bat.
To win the toss, elect to bat, and then get bowled out for 270 at Adelaide Oval is pretty much handing Australia a free win. Australia to amass a 250-300 run lead by the end of Day 3, if they do as expected and bat out the entire day.

But in more serious news, why can't we win a Fucking Toss?

Oh NZ,

so dissapointing. Again. ¯\(o_°)/¯
Currently 5/76, Lee has taken 4 this morning, and Johnson has taken 1.
I don't think they can make 150, meaning Australia will win by an innings and 100 runs or so. Any comments on the farce that is the NZ team, Hip?

Nothing new this series.. They have done exactly what they have done all year.

Redmond and Flynn have both improved a lot though. And on the whole the main problems with the batting on the whole seems like they should be fixable. The batsmen in general seem to have no idea how to play left handed bowling, but that is relatively minor.

I think Fulton will lose his place to Oram when he is fit. If Oram isnt going to be back soon, I'd kinda like to see Franklin come in his place, which means we could play Patel and still have 3 seamers. Which also sures up the tail a bit.

What did you think about Australia? I actually have been very surprised how poor they have been.. They havent really done much with the new ball. Stuart Clark was the only one that really looked dangerous.. I think you are really going to struggle against South Africa.

Have a nice day.

I disagree, I thought that Lee performed well with the ball.
Not necessarily with the new ball, but it was much better than what he did in India.I would expect Australia's spin bowling to be less dangerous but the fast bowling was pretty abysmal in India. It seems though that the bowling back home is a lot better.SA vs Aus should be a close contest, provided the fast bowlers can keep in shape.

Its unlikely the India vs England tests will go on, but if they do... I predict India is going to win it easily. The England batsmen are just not up to the mark it seems. To me, their main batsmen, Kevin Pieterson is just the same as Mohammad Yousaf... it does not seem like he is playing for the team, hes just trying to better his statistics. This was clearly evident in the last match where his run rate was still under a run a ball towards the end.
The bowling is a lot better though, I am a big fan of Flintoff as well as Sidebottom, but are they going to be enough to penetrate the massive Indian batting lign up?

I predict India is going to lose with ease. England is an excellent test team and if India are going to run this team, it'll be ok. Laxman may come in but Dravid is silly. I hope Sidebottom returns atleast for the test series.

Rofl you don't learn do you! India are favourites to win the test series 2-0 and it seems even more likely now that some english players might not come back like flintoff and broad. It seems the 5-0 thrashing wasn't enough for you cause you said something like this a few weeks ago about the ODI series.

Ever the optimis Taxie :D I love to see it, England are a better Test Team than a One Day team, but I fear they will be too shaken to seriously do anything decent now. Their minds wont be in the right place and they will end up losing, 2-0 I predict. Before I thought we had a chance, but that has gone out the window. I have to admit that ive lost to flame, you win buddy :(

hehe it wasn't really about winning gold I was just correcting him about who are the favourites to win the series. So the test series is going to start today any bets on who will be the man of the series award? I think virender sehwag is going to take it this time. Chennai and mohali are amazing batting tracks and if he stays for about 2 or 3 hours at the crease then its mostly like a win for India. Should be an interesting series after the terrorist attacks :(

What do you guys think about the first day?
England had a good start with 118-0 though slow, but they neither made use of the remaining wickets to increase the run rate, nor did play a slow but stable game (lost 5 wickets in the next 111 runs). Pietersen has really got to play a responsible innings (is there any batsmen left to support him?) if England want a shot at winning the first match...

good innings from Prior after the customary batting collapse. A couple of wickets for Swann in his first over and at 155-6 if we knock them out for 200 we are in a decent position with plenty of time left.

See now this is really strange, to be honest i thought that if we were going to shine it would be with the bat, but amazingly enough we have come out off a modest total (IMO we needed 400 minimm) but we have come out and played extremely well with the ball. We still need to perform well with the bat in the second innings, if we can keep them down to 250-275 odd, i think any less is a big ask, Harbajhan and Dhoni can bat :/ then we are in with a chance of winning. We will need to put the game out of their reach with 350 or so in the second innings as our first innings performance was not Stellar. We need to grab the upper hand tomorrow morning and run with it, but for now I am contented :P

To be fair though, India saves its best innings for last.

Yea I'm hopelessly throwing myself behind India. To be fair though, the English bowling was quite good, and I want to say that India just wasn't expecting that, and they let their guard down. The pitch is probably gonna be a lot harder for India by day 4 or 5, but I think that if India's bowling was anything like it was day 1, and if India can get another 50 runs or so during this innings, they might have a chance. Maybe.

I was pleasantly surprised to wake up and find England ahead in the first test. It is win-win for me though; either my prediction is right or England are successful, so my previous post was like a hedge =]

Dravid needs to either save or win the match in the second innings. Unless he makes a huge century, he will need another score in the next test. Otherwise, we could be witnessing a disappointing end to a distinguished career.

Andy Strauss is just awesome. He is likely to score a century again. We shall win this match as a vengeance for being defeated in the ODI series via 2 unfair D/L matches.

EDIT : Strauss does it again! Collingwood also does the same! England are in for a win.

Oh god, I fear we are going to be in for a tough ride on Day 5. Gambhir and Sehwag are batting well, descisions seem to be going their way too and with India at 96-0, it's looking like a rather tough finale. Panesar has been bowling well and has been frustrating the two openers with good balls pitched into the rough patches. Graeme Swann has also bowled really well. Our quick bowlers really didn't do an awful lot though..

I still wonder why we declared, we could've kept the last pair out for a bit longer, hit a few more runs and waited for them to get out. The tip of the tail was hardly going to stay in long against India's bowlers.

THAT overconfident? well, i'm quite sure you won't be after the end of today's play :)

oh also, how were those unfair D/L results? I mean fuck, the shortened one was a gay game altogether but the other one would've probably been ours.

sure, we'd have preferred to win the regular way but its how it is right?
