The Everything NHL Thread

Although the Bruins are enjoying a succesful season, I wouldn't go as far as calling them the best team... They certainly have some dirty players on their team though. Brad Marchand had yet another dirty play against Emelin. Those Bruins just can't take it when they get beat at their own physical style so they have to resort to those kinds of plays...

That hit wasn't dirty at all. It shouldn't have even been called a penalty, let alone a clip like the shit announcer Olcyzk wanted. Last time I checked, a hip-to-hip check isn't low or dirty. What a garbage game that was to watch from the refs and the announcers. Olcyzk should be ashamed at the crap he was spewing last night, even funnier when they would play the video that was proving him wrong as he was talking about it. You guys who bash me for liking Jack Edwards, where do you put Eddie Olcyzk on your hockey announcer tier lists? Just curious. I've heard Edwards say some homerish shit but I've never seen him be flat out embarrassingly wrong like that.

And lol@ the scumbag Habs fans cheering when Chara got hit in the neck by a puck, I guess they'll take anything to be happy about nowadays.

The Boston Bruins, the best team in the NHL, hardly got a win against the lowly Canadiens because the Canadiens had the refs in their back pocket.

Sounds pretty accurate

They only called 3 goaltender interference penalties against the Canadiens? Any time a player gets within 8 feet of Thomas it should be called ASAP. This is ridiculous.

Did you watch the game or are you taking that out of the box score? All 3 of those penalties were completely deserved. If a Bruins player had done the same things to Price you'd be here saying how dirty the Bruins players are.

The Bruins just have a bad rap because the refs hate them. Marchand is not a dirty player either. He is just short and it is hard for him to hit people properly because of the size disadvantage. Several other players get away with the same hits that Marchand makes all the time. I'm not sure why you hate the Bruins so much.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Bruins and I agree that the officials make lousy calls against them often. I'm just stating my opinion about the Marchand situation. It seemed to me like a dangerous play with intent of going specifically for Emelin. No need for that kind of stuff.

As for the Habs, there seems to be a lot of hate towards them... Although the refs missed some stuff, theres no denying they played a good game and held their own against the Bruins.

Perron was forced from Saturday's game against the Wild late in the third period after taking a vicious cross check from Warren Peters, according to the Associated Press. He did not return.

Recommendation: He had earlier picked up an assist to stretch his current point streak to seven games and 10 points (seven goals, three assists). Peters received a misconduct for the hit, a violent two-hander across the earhole of Perron's helmet which snapped Perron's head and neck to the side and immediately dropped the winger to the ice. Perron's departure is obviously concerning for the Blues and fantasy owners everywhere. He had piled up 27 points in 33 games this season after missing almost a hundred games due to a concussion.

What the fuck is this shit and who is this asshole.

Goddamn, Perron just returned from a concussion that held him off the ice for more than a year.

*Crossing fingers

Edit : It was Backes that was nearly decapitated. Rotowire is just retarded.

LA Kings need to fire Sutter seriously. His defensive style of play doesn't fit this era, and he's not getting anything out of players like Kopitar or Richards. You're shut out by the Flames: there's something wrong. Only Quick is living up (and exceeding) expectations.

Edit: Laughed pretty hard at this

Ovechkin is having an extraordinary meltdown. It's at this point in his career that he needs to decide if he wants to be remembered as the elite NHL player or the player who never reached expectations.

Motherfuck I come to share the news, Kish already snipes it. Also Detroit got scarier with Quincy.

Ott is on the trading block. Imagine if the Canucks got him, the league would implode.

It's kinda funny too since Detroit drafted and ultimately waived Quincey at some point. I thought that TB would actually keep Quincey, but I guess that 1st round pick will help them bring in the elusive #1 goaltender or help on the blueline.

East is getting nuts, top 7 spots are pretty much solidified and it's a giant toss-up for 8th.

guess who is leading the western conference in goals (updated for tonights games)

now check who it actually is and witness how wrong you were.

ALSO lol leafs are great and holding onto some hope and then blowing it (evidenced by tonight) so this should be a great final stretch only to tragically miss it and get 9th again xD

Ah...yeah. That's definitely surprising. Just taking a quick glance at his stats, I see that his shooting % is nearly double his career average, so this is most likely not going to be a repeating thing.
