What how disappointing...I was hoping for a "champion's league" or something >:|
Would be cool if they boiled it down year after year winners constantly moving on but at the same time, like others and I discussed above, Yahoo makes no real money from fantasy hockey so why do it...you know?

I figured the mass activity fantasy has makes them money from the ads on the fantasy pages, if nothing else.

I have to imagine yahoo makes a pretty penny from all that activity though.

I am sure they make money from ads, but without a premium to play the actual game, why bother making fun and interesting additions; though they do sell that stat tracker and draft aid bullshit.

Some keeper league team I took over at the beginning of the year ended up #6 in a 12 man league. And I'm actually in the race for the cup now. Quite shocking considering my goaltending.

And psycho, good luck in the battle for 3rd. Out of sportsmanship I will finish this properly.

I just want to say:

I hate you Articuno64 you and your damn cannucks

Though in all fairness the flames have been asking for it for almost a month.

Dont worry Mormoopid(god that is long how can I shorten it), I beat him in round one of the playoffs, so canuck that!

No but in all honesty, Arti, our week was close! And congrats on a good fantasy season to both you and jackal.

Mormoopid(god that is long how can I shorten it)

Obligatory "that's what she said" line

It's not over yet though arti, flames and nucks play in a little while and that will almost certainly weigh extremely heavily upon the final placements.

yeah psycho it really came down to the end

morm i'm not too concerned about the division really. i kinda want the canucks to play chicago in the playoffs so we can stomp their shit some more

man the Oliers can go suck a cock.
yeah we're probably out of the playoffs, especially considering who we have to play next.

What do you mean silly man? In any case, good luck to you as well.

I remember a certain person (hi synre) that was didnt care for the battle for #3 last year.

He would have won it probably, but Vincent took the 3rd spot due to synre not setting his rosters ;)

Didnt want to repeat that action

Ah well, so you are confident that you will win? Kidding, but in any case, yeah, that would be silly though our game doesn't really count for anything so I wouldn't hold it against you if you decided to not play anymore.

To be honest, if I were a Flames and/or Hawks fan I'd be rooting for the Canucks to take the NW division. From Calgary's perspective, I would much rather take on Chicago in the first round than have to play likely 6 seed Columbus. The Blackhawks are not playing their best hockey right now and with the way Vancouver is rolling, I would prefer to take my chances against Calgary if I'm a Blackhawk. I think it would benefit both sides if those teams sabotaged themselves into a 4-5 matchup while letting Columbus and Vancouver beat each other up in what I see as a very physically demanding first round.

Then as a Wings fan, I want Anaheim to get 7th and Nashville to get 8th. I'm assuming Detroit won't catch San Jose and the Ducks, with their own questions in net, are a much easier opponent than a division rival with a hot goalie. If the Wings get the Preds or even the Blues (still baffled that they have a shot somehow) it wouldn't surprise me to see a first round upset not unlike a few years back against a hot Oilers team with Roloson playing at top form. Detroit just doesn't look in it to win it like they did last season.. let San Jose deal with the Preds.

As for the east, go habs go! I hope they sneak in to play Boston. And I'm looking forward to a potential caps/pens playoff bout. That would be the series to watch in round one.

My 2 cents..

Chicago has had the flames number all season Carl. Them an Anaheim are the two teams I don't wanna play as a flames fan. Realistically I don't see things ending in a favorable way for the flames.

Meanwhile, Squidward (calamari/cammaleri), Jokie and Iggy are all being called out publicly by newspapers and media. In fact, jokinen had some fans approach him at the airport- not for autographs, but to ask what the hell is going on to such a talent loaded team. Jokinen was pleased by this apparently, because he loves playing in a city that can actually have ice outside of the rink and have hockey be appreciated.

Phaneuf is still public enemy number 1.

it was pretty evident in 2004 that the flames cannot score on khabibulin, and his lifetime record against the flames is something absurd like 26-6 (dont quote me), so if im the flames im looking to avoid chicago.

hopefully my wild can sneak in??? (yeah right??)

I'd love to play the wild first round as a flames fan, in an interview after their last assraping by the flames had one of their players saying that they don't feel as if the flames are a team they can beat.

I can safely say my kings will not be joining the playoffs this year, and I can also say that I want Visnovsky out of edmonton.

My Avalanche is in ultimate tanking mode, and hopefully we can win the lottery and get Tavares, either way, if we finish 2nd, atleast we can get Tavares, Hedman or Duchene, three solid choices if you ask me.

I honestly thought Colorado would do alright this year considering their pretty decent talent pool. I am kind of disappointed by most of the NW division this year though

Really they have arguably the worst goaltending in the league, subpar defense and besides a few talented forwards their offensive depth isn't that great.

Injury's to both Sakic and Stastny made the cause worse but they are right around where I thought they would be this year.
