The Everything NHL Thread

I think even the NHL now considers the Frank J Selke trophy as a joke.

Go José!

Look at how happy he is.

Go go go go go Blackhawks. My uncle has Stanley Cup playoff tickets and I don't think he'll be takign me anytime in the future or now. I could be wrong. I got the balckhawks in 5 over the flyers.

What a wild game... just proves you can't expect anything when it comes to the finals, not even a 75% save percentage from the goaltenders.

Never has Bettman been as opened as he seems now to a return of NHL hockey to Winnipeg and Quebec City. I'm psyched, it appears he's now worried about his legacy :

“Frankly, if we’re going to move a franchise, there are a couple of places in Canada that I’d like to give my attention, because when both Winnipeg and Quebec lost their franchises it was because - I always talk about three things when talking about franchises: market, building and owner - and both of those teams were moved because two of the criteria went away.

“There was no building and there was no owner; to the extent that those markets are in a position to deal with those issues, I’d like to try to fix something that I wish hadn’t happened in the first place,” he said.

“Not unlike what we did in Minnesota.”

Can't beat Philly at home unless you have some serious momentum coming from a 7 goal victory

edit: and Philly barely squeaked out the game 3 win. AND the Hawks have been amazing on the road during the playoffs

so who knows

EDIT2: AND the top line finally looks like it gives a shit about the series

SO WHO KNOWS

But then again you can't argue with perfection and Leighton is perfect at home in the playoffs. I like the chances of the Flyers winning at home... but back in Chicago, I'm not so confident. They really needed a win in game 5. Winning two in a row obviously isn't unprecedented for these guys, but Chicago has proven to be the Flyers' least favorite city.

Should be a good game tonight though. Looking forward to a strong showing by Halladay and then a Flyers win!
