The Everything NHL Thread

That has to be one of the more anticlimactic Stanley Cup finishes I've seen. Still, that game had me on the edge of my seat. I'm happy for Hossa now too.

Sadly, no more Emmerich until October. =(

Yeah I agree. I don't know what the other stations were like, I was watching it on CBC and the announcers were just saying "WHERE'S THE PUCK!?!??!". But yeah the game was awesome, and the few minutes of overtime were great to watch.
 
I do not get why people are calling the ending anticlimactic. It was a complete sucker punch! Flyers rallied to overtime and the game was over without them even knowing because the shot was so slick. I thought it was really exciting.

What a weird game winner. Only 1 guy knew it was in. You'd think a OT stanley cup winner would be more exciting than it really was.

But I've been waiting for a long time.. Thank you for bringing something to Chicago for us. Woooo
 
rewatching the end... and the ending of this series is just so fucking funny. It was all quiet, but you can hear in the background Patrick Kane screaming and dancing alone for a while. Then the whole team just jumped on the Kane wagon. I loved the ending personally because of the unique ending. If I was a blackhawks fan (fuk blackhwaks, go sharks!), I would be remembering not only the stanley cup win, but the ending for a while..
 
the ending was hilarious. I had no idea it went in but then I saw Kane dancing and I was like "no fucking way", and then the announcer goes IT'S OVER and I flipped over my chair and started screaming.

But anyways who cares about the ending THE HAWKS HAVE THE MOTHERFUCKIN STANLEY CUP

You have finals? I graduated in May xD, my ceremony was on the 5th though. Seniors didn't have finals ftw.

Edit: Personally, I wish the Hawks lost and won it here (Chicago). It would have been infinitely more awesome, and with a home crowd to boot. The booing in the end was quite stupid.
 
Yeah, if you're going to U of C next year, you'll have finals now too. The quarter system absolutely blows and you'll hate it.

And yeah I wish the Hawks would've won it at home because Philly fans suck and the reaction would've been way better at home.

I was kinda happy for the Hawks to win since at least it was nice to see Hossa win the cup and I liked the more offensively inclined team winning since it usually puts the type of thoughts into General Managers heads that I want them thinking, but the Hawks' antics the past week have reminded me why I am not a fan of the Hawks. The whole whiteboard Pronger is gay thing, Burish's stupid comments(he sure is an irrelevant player, why is the media even talking to him?), even Kane's shit isn't very cute. However, I have the future to look forward to.

I've talked a few times with the fantasy people about how bad Chicago's cap situation is looking forward to next year - I'd have been shocked if they won one in the next three or four years if they didn't get this year's cup. Not expecting them to do nearly as well next year, but it'll be interesting to see how they play the next three weeks. The players might be celebrating, but the GM and friends better be working now if they want to go deep next year.



I'm posting mostly in NHL 11 news, since I know more than the four(three of us right now...) who play on the EASHL team player.

Lots of new features, there's finally a trailer out(http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/video/video.php?v=404578672389 on Facebook but I'll look for a link for the non-trendy kids later). We knew most of the stuff it tells us - broken sticks, completely new hitting engine and physics engine in the game in general, completely redone faceoffs which is good because its always been terrible, new dekes where you can do ridiculous things like jump over laying players, etc. Pausing the trailer in their stupid feature spam I noticed there are new celebrations now and also disallowed goals... which kinda worries me because I score quite a few that shouldn't count online, lol.
