The Everything NHL Thread

Fuck yesssss. Kane you beautiful man.

I've met him quite a few times. Outside of Blackhawks events. Benefits of knowing people.

The Oilers fired their coach via Skype. Hilarious.

Really looking forward to the finals. Two great, historic franchises instead of Cinderella teams. Just how it should be.

You're right. We should just eliminate the other 24 teams and go back to the original 6. That way every year the cup winner will be a great and historic franchise.

Idiot.

I admit preferring one of these two teams winning the cup than the Anaheim Ducks or the Carolina Hurricanes.

Then again I would rather see the Ducks and Canes win than the Leafs.

vincent pls

also predicks for the final: Chicago in 6, I'd prefer the cup to stay in the west cause west is best

Kane with the winner in OT again, chara giraffe cri evritiem

Im an idiot because I prefer to see elite teams in the finals and not some team that squeaked into the playoffs and got hot. Okay. Im not sure how you took that as I want to start contracting teams.

remember that time the Blackhawks won the Presidents' Trophy and the Bruins missed winning the Northeast by one point and then basically steamrolled their way through the Eastern Conference from the 4th seed

apparently not

Yes Im aware that Boston and Chicago are elite teams. What does that have to do with my post?

You kind of also said the SCF should be played between two historical franchises. Just pinpointing what caused the reaction.

Think I'll throw in my support for the Bruins. Lukewarm support. Fuck Patrick Kane.

Probably not the right choice of words on my part. I just really dislike Cinderella teams. That was really my main point.

It is pretty awesome that we are going to witness the first Original 6 Cup final in 34 years.

And Patrick Kane is awesome. Im not sure why he's hated so much.

Whole thing got out of hand mainly because you mentioned historic franchises and then cinderella stories.. as if there are no other teams out there, or as if historic franchises and a cinderella team can't be one in the same. (IE: If the Chicago Cubs won the World Series this year)

And idk why Kane gets hate.. misunderstood I suppose. Or his mullet choice.

What's weird is I heard this will be the first time ever the Bruins and Blackhawks meet for the Stanley Cup.

Unless it was a divisions thing, man must they have both sucked in the O6 era. It was a 6 teams league but it seems only Montreal, Toronto and Detroit could bring home the Cup.

elite team almost losed to the leafs

I guarantee if the Pens had played Simon Despres and Beau Bennett and taken out slow, shitty players who can't move the puck, they would have won at least two games in that series. Leafs matched up well against the Bruins, especially after inserting Jake Gardiner.

Don't try to out-tough the Bruins, that's a terrible idea.
