He was after Naslund after the day he scored the 4th goal of this week, he proposed an offer to me Jason Williams vs Marcus Naslund, which i decided to counter in the hope he would do it.

Apparantly it worked, i'm not complaining atleast ;)
 
Well yeah props to you for somehow working that one. Lidstrom will be a steady source of +/- and ppp for the rest of the season where I think Naslund's best days are behind him and he'll probably be streaky. I'm just jealous that the person in first place got the better end of a great trade.
 
even though i'm in first, i really could use a nice move like this one, playing almost the whole season with 1 player less already, due to having 2 people (which i don't really want to drop) on IR, one of them being the defenceman i expected most of (hi souray, how's your shoulder :< )

Close enough: 30 saves on 31 shots for a nice 96.8%

And I was wrong, it was a 4 game winning streak... that is now 5 games. Go Sabes.
 
as it appears, I will have a very hard week.

But its early, I just wish carl didnt lead goalie stats by so much already and Pronger didnt get 14 PIM yesterday :chaos:

And to be honest i think he has a big year ahead of him, in the way of points, especially if the twins and he fire regularly
 
lets not forget bullets first round pick was alexander frolov so hes bound to do weird shit ;p

but yeah if 4 people voted against it, the trade wouldnt have happened.
 
glad my goalies had an edge over bull3t atm, decided to not play them last night and seemed the best choice i could have made, both DiPietro and Thomas got more than my AVG GA against them and Vokoun didnt play at all. :)
 
After Bryzgalov got lit up for 5 goals on seven shots as Brodeur was getting his shutout I'd been kind of hoping for a big week at the expensive of my real life best friend this week, but it's looking unlikely thanks to me having the worst week I've had all year with my skaters. Alfredsson, Spezza, and Shanahan absolutely lit me up in the afternoon game today, so it's starting to look like I may lose most or even all of the skater stats this week. I've had a bit of a shortage of players to put in my skater slots this week(and Avery getting Havlat disease didn't much help) which isn't helping me, but it's been a disappointing week for my forwards. Prior to the 7 o'clock games I was down 3 goals, tied in assists, up two power play points, and down two penalty minutes, 6 +/-, and 4 shots. He has Toews, Havlat, Stillman, Spacek, Perry, and Burns playing, and I have Datsyuk, Elias, Kovalchuk twice, Holmstrim, Boyes, Langenbrunner, Enstrom twice, Chara, Rafalski, and Weber left to play, so hopefully I can make a comeback! I'm glad to see his offense rolling though, it's just unfortunate it happened for the first time in a while against me.

In real NHL news I am really glad to see the Devils and the Sabres doing better, I really hope they both manage to make it in the playoffs(as well as the Thrashers), but man that conference is loaded this year. At least Detroit is still rolling!

I'm still pissed I didn't get a shutout from that game. I mean seriously.. Buffalo you're up 8-0 late in the 3rd, you might as well play good defense and not take penalties and give your team the satisfaction of blanking your opponent. I feel like if it was 2-0 late in the third I would have gotten a shutout because it wouldn't have been as comfortable of a lead. Oh well, best defense is a good offense and if the Sabres can score like this more often I'm bound to get some good results from Ryan Miller in the future. And the assists and +/- it brings to Campbell isn't half bad either!

As for this week in general, my team's stats look damn good. I just hope it starts to stay more like this.
 
mmm, finally back in the top half of the field, quietly won four of my last five with my only loss being 4-5-1. Pretty excited about being in a more respectable place in the standings(only 6 points out of third currently) considering that I was in 12th like three weeks ago. The field is starting to look more like how I thought it would coming in(gr33n being so high surprises me but I remember liking his team when he drafted it and hes made good moves so far), although I kinda expect Psycho/xocmin to make a charge in the second half of the season... Alfredsson, Spezza, Hossa, Jokinen, Stillman, Shanahan, Michalek, and Havlat are some pretty scary forwards, although goaltending will be tricky for him.


I'm really enjoying how close the standings are in the real NHL, amazing how close teams are in both conferences, even Detroit really only has like four games on a huge crowd of teams, which as Ottawa and Carolina are proving in the East can be lost very quickly. Standings are pretty exciting currently!


Being at least slightly less pathetic lets me mess around with my roster a little more so I threw a couple trade offers, unlike most of what I tend to offer I think these are actually pretty even for both sides... I probably shouldn't make a habit of this.
 
I'd just like to say I'm glad to see my team, the Flames, doing so well. They are very soon going to be in prime striking position for that coveted first overall draft pick, though Washington is putting up a big fight for it.

Oh wait a sec they were supposed to finish top 4 in the west this year...I remember. SCREW YOU KEENAN.
 
interesting trade offer synre ive been back and forth on it, i would take it but ive always believe that you shouldnt try to fix what isnt broken.

Keep thinking about it, haha. I wish I could get myself to subscribe to the whole 'don't fix what isn't broken' thing, I blame MMOs for causing me to want to constantly minmax and be ideal rather than as good as necessary.

Anyway I was debating on making a Firebot thread for this soundclip but no one but you guys will get it anyway since pretty much everyone who knows hockey reads this thread(and pretty much everyone who doesn't read this is unsure if the lockout ever ended) so check out this soundclip when you guys have a few minutes: http://us.share.geocities.com/nfe100/NHL_Bit.mp3 it's pretty well done imo. The radio dude reminds me strangle of Gary Thorne which made it more appealing to me for some reason.

Also I wouldn't worry too much about the flames majesty. The west suddently getting a lot better this year is potential trouble but they haven't been playing that badly in spite of adjusting to a new coach from what I've seen. Kiprusoff is too good to keep playing the way he has and when he inevitably gets hot they'll start rolling, I would be shocked if they didn't make the playoffs.

Shocked and overjoyed, that is. I have a hard time shaking my perception that they are a cheap team.

Bruins / Islanders game already fucked up my goalie stats,

a) Boston scored 2 goals too much
b) Islanders shouldnt have scored that PPG

I need really good goalie results if i want to beat you, so a Thomas shut out would have been more than welcome, Islanders getting a goal 1,5 minute before it ends is just shit :(

On a different note, got my Crosby jersey today, can't find anything that would make me think it isn't legit, and that for 50 dollars, awesome deal :)
And this time I didn't make the mistake of ordering it XL as i did with my Koivu jersey, I just drown in that thing, but hey it's a Habs jersey, rather have it oversized than have none at all (or be a leafs fan haha ).

Goodluck Jackal, hope we will get a exciting matchup that is undecided till the last day :)

In other news I finally have my goaltending where I want it when the trade goes through, skaters definitely took a bit of a hit recently but I have a plan !! although that plan was undermined to some extent by 5k taking boyes off waivers(which was weird since he was only on waivers due to a spot start to begin with)
