TLR IS FINISHED. ANOYNE MAY FEEL FREE TO COMMENT IF THEY WISH.

It seems pretty easy to defeat the boss/stall long enough to catch the boss, providing you bring enough balls (especially Heal Balls)... With so many Pokemon at hand, you can send them in as fodder and just throw balls repeatedly xD

smash, you derp, you could've saved up TC throughout, gotten your mons healed, and charged through to grab another legend. 9.9

Anyhoo, gj on catching Registeel, and IAR so boss for reffing.

Excellent work team!

Okay, so now I'm going to briefly summarize my TLR.

Going in, I had a two strategies in mind that hadn't been used by any TLR players before, and I have to say they both worked perfectly;

1) Catch as many Pokemon as I can, especially with Heal Balls. Although the astonishing amazingness of Heal Balls had already been discovered, I tried the unorthodox tactic of quite literally catching everything I came across instead of waiting until I hit the stronger Pokemon. This paid off in a huge way; Spinner was probably just as useful as Buzz.

2) Prioritize survival over EVERYTHING. Most TLR players had been choosing to get items or other things in return for taking some damage or getting caught up with a trap. I went the other way, missing some pretty valuable items in return for keeping all my Pokemon alive.

I'm going to summarize each area of the TLR briefly now.

Still Pall
Pretty simple fight. I tried to keep Brave Bird healthy and have Grass Skirt take the brunt of the attack, as he was the bulkiest and had the best recovery (well, until sand kicked in). Unfortunately Chuck Norris ended up heavily damaged, but eh. I also decided to capture a Klink, which turned out to be a great decision.

Gear Golem
I played conservatively here, choosing the least valuable item on purpose to (hopefully) preserve my Pokemon, which worked. The Magneton trap was unfortunate and resulted in the loss of Brave Bird, but actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Zap-Happy proved extremely useful, providing priceless paralysis support once Spinner fainted and substantial chip damage.

Scrapyard
More conservative play. Although Rotom appliances are extremely useful, I really didn't want to get caught up in another trap battle.

Iron Maiden
Definitely my toughest battle so far. Both Pokemon were pretty tricky, especially as the one I wanted to capture (Mawile) had Taunt to severely limit my options. Once captured however, Omnom's Taunt support and Intimidate proved invaluable during the final battle.

Steel Forest
A mixed bag of an area. I wasn't sure which trap to spring, but it turned out to be the right choice (I hate Ferrothorn and Scizor is the best). Although it took out my beloved Spinner, Buzz was a huge help during the final battle because of its raw damage output.

Iron Cage
The final battle, and certainly not one to be taken lightly. It started off well enough, but quickly spiraled into chaos as Bastiodon started ripping apart my team (Leethoof would be proud). Once Bastiodon was KO'd at the cost of Buzz, Registeel was easy enough to take down. The capture went very badly until IAR made the mistake of using Rest, which actually increased my chances of capture thanks to the huge capture modifier from sleep.

AND NOW, SHOUTOUTS

People

Terrador, my number one cheerleader.

Engineer, for pointing out a few flaws in my orders.

Its_A_Random, for being a super-fast-awesome ref and an absolutely evil battler.

Pokemon

Newly Captured

Registeel for being freakin' Registeel.

Buzz, for providing a huge dose of pure muscle in the final battle.

Omnom, for Taunt and Intimidate support, as well as some Dig trickery in the final battle.

Zap-Happy, for the essential paralysis support and substantial chip damage.[/B]

Spinner, for starting my quest to capture the entire dungeon and providing awesome paralysis support with Lock-On+Zap Cannon.

The Original Team

Brave Bird, for drawing some fire in the Klink fight. Sorry, it was kind of dumb for you to bring me in here.

Chuck Norris, the ultimate glass cannon; brought down enemies like nothing, but got knocked out pretty early on.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Grass Skirt. A veritable offensive threat that took attacks like nothing and hit like a tank. Way to put the team on your back man.
