Golden State is going to have to play better if they want that 8th spot. They have a pretty tough schedule remaining - Sacramento, Phoenix and Denver in their last 5-6 games.

I can't believe the Suns lost like that...I'm no longer a devoted Suns fan...not. I Hope Golden State makes the playoffs instead of Denver/Dallas.

Hornets are just, sick.

Golden State, get your act together, seriously.

They went like, 3-29 from beyond the 3pt line.

Monta Ellis was a killer though, straight killer. AND at a 700K salary this year...that man is going to get like a 1500% increase in salary.

Also Olajuwon made Hall of Fame!! Well obviously, but Ewing shouldn't have. =[ Well, at least not this year, and in his first year of eligibility, as the case with Olajuwon. Perhaps in another 5 years would had been more suitable. Where's Wilkins =[

"Less auspicious was his characterization of Thomas as “a great basketball mind” who’s “got the skills to help this franchise.” The man who steered the Pacers to six conference finals has a soft spot for Isiah, whom he hired as a novice coach in 2000. (After losing three straight first-round playoff series in Indiana, Thomas was fired by bitter enemy Larry Bird.) “I had Isiah as my coach and I liked him a lot,” Walsh told me in February. “The [Knicks] franchise was in a difficult position when he took over. He’s made some amazing changes that haven’t added up, but it hasn’t been for lack of trying.”"
Walsh's words...sounds great %____%

Man, cheering for Atlanta is hard. They lost to Indiana today (or so it seems. the game is almost over). They're so close to the 8th spot. Just 3 more wins, and they got a lock. Man.

Here's my views of the current playoff match ups in the east:

Boston-Atlanta: Boston 4-1 (Atlanta comes for the surprise win in game 2. I swear. Overconfident Boston stunned; ensue mass SportsCenter analysis. God, I hate Charles Barkley's "jokes". He's gonna mention the fact that Atlanta got lucky at least 50 times. They're not that bad. J-Smith= AK47, but with a lot more potential. Bibby and Joe J. Marvin Williams is a solid starter, and Al Horford is ROY for sure.)
Detroit-Toronto: Detroit 4-2 (with Caledron and Bosh, anything could happen. But experience, and just the fact that Detroit is Detroit has me putting them up. Their first 5 is one of the best outside Boston.)
Orlando-Washington: WASHINGTON 4-3 (Wizs angry due to the fact they get BSed out of the playoffs by LeBron. Now that they don't have him to deal with: instant success. The 3 man combo in Jamison-Butler-Agent 0 rivals that of Boston. Will not really. 7 game series, with at least 3 going in OT)
Cavaliers-Philly: Philly in 4 games (I hate the Cavs. Take away the human "W" and it's the Knicks' cousin. Seriously, Big Ben is old and won't do crap, Pavlovic is a bench player at best, Joe Smith is ok, and Larry Hughes is by far the best...Oh wait, never mind. LeBron tries to save them from certain doom, but with a talented Philly team, have you seen them lately?, they don't stand a chance.

Sonics-Mavericks game is boringggg. Anything else good on tonight (i.e. network television?)

Preferably something that is important for the West, I've pretty much given up on the East, we all know Boston is going to win that conference.

If Warriors and Nuggets are still tied for 8th at the end of the season, who gets into the playoffs? Who has the tie-breaker advantage, I mean?

Tiebreaker advantage is best conference record, iirc, so... it'd depend on who had the higher of that.

Then there's tiebreakers from there, most points scored, etc.

The tie-breaker will be decided Thursday when Denver and Golden State play each other, in Golden State. It will be a huge game for both teams, and I bet the team that wins that game will get the 8th spot. The game will be aired on TNT btw.

hey dallas still hasn't clinched here's to them getting bumped and denver and gs both getting in yeah very unlikely but it could happen.

also I'm surprised to find out miami isn't the worst nba team ever.

4. 1992-93 Dallas Mavericks (11-71)
The Mavs were actually lucky to win 11 games -- statheads will tell you they should only have won seven. Dallas suffered through a 19-game mid-season losing streak (one shy of the 1972-73 Sixers NBA single-season record 20-game streak), and ended the year being outscored by an average of 15 points per game.

or how about the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers, who finished 9-73, setting the standard for team wretchedness in the NBA

9 wins hahah

and I hope atlanta gets in just because they have the longest playoff drought in the nba.

I bet the NBA would faint if the Spurs won the championships this year. The Spurs will kill the ratings if they end up in the finals again lol.

Something tells me a finals match-up of Lakers-Celtics will rake in the most money for the league. Watch the Lakers and Celts get so much free throws in the playoffs as a result.

huge game tonight for the final spot in the west with golden state vs denver. I believe denver is up 2-1 in the season series right now, and if GS wins they have the tiebreaker since it goes t divison or conference play records or something. (I could be wrong on all that)

Anyways huge game for both teams with denver only over GS because of the tiebreaker for now. GO GOLDEN STATE!!!

edit: haha so like 5 hours later just saw that this my 100th post =)

Denver has Utah, Houston and Memphis left.

Golden State has Clippers, Phoenix and Seattle left.

I can see Denver losing to Utah and Houston and the Warriors losing to Phoenix. If it works out that way, the Warriors will get that 8th spot.

Crap, Golden State lost to Denver...at home. And did anyone see the unbelievable shot by Dirk Nowitski? I hope the Clippers pull an upset on the Lakers...
