That's actually a very good analogy. ATL = Trailblazers. Are the ATL players "character guys" as well? I know that a big focus of hiring with the blazers the last couple years has been to hire guys that are young, work hard, and would make positive rolemodels and good teammates. I have to admit I don't know much about ATL's squad. That boy Horford is fearless though. Him and Zaza. :naughty:

So I heard that the report for D'Antoni was a fake. I wonder if they'll toss him though? I'm not so sure they should anymore...at first I thought he was the problem, but now I can't see that that's the case.

The Suns definitely need a change though, unless they want to end up like Dallas this year.

The suns suck. They deserve to lose when they missed 20 or so free throws. They really have no one to blame but themselves. Although I won't take away from the Spurs, they are a good team.

I am really puzzled by the Mavericks fallout with Avery Johnson, a coach who took us to the finals (and won it ;P) and instilled defense in a team that was a top three team every year, but lost in the playoffs because of offense. He 'only' went 23-24 (26-21 if you adjust it for the games we were robbed of in those finals). Who are we going to have replace him? This seems really dumb to me, and I do not even really believe we will make the playoffs next year with Diop and Harris and now our coach gone.

I hope Avery does not get stuck on the Knicks lol

The Kidd Trade was what killed us, we lost a young fast PG who was willing to defend in harris and a good Backup/Starter Center. In the West all the top PG are young, fast, and can score excluding Nash cause he is old! Trading fast Harris for 'slow' Kidd really was what killed the Mavericks and we hurt our chances in the future in Harris for trying to win now with Kidd which he won't win anything! Overall, I hated the trade but had to live with it, we gave up too much for Kidd ;\

Yeah, Kidd was definitely a panic trade. It all seems to go back to the Gasol trade. Just about everyone panicked from that, and understandably. The lakers got a legit all-star power forward for like a tuna sandwich and some cash. They went from sorta good to top-tier practically overnight.

wow, our success as a team seems to be inversely related to how many minutes Arenas plays...

the team that gives him a big paycheck will regret it for the next half-decade

Avery Johnson didn't deserve to get fired. I would of given him one more year to see if the Jason Kidd trade can work-out for a full season. Then if a first round exit occurred, then pull the plug. He'll be working somewhere very soon, I promise you that!

Hornets vs. Spurs: Give me the Hornets in 6 games.

Celtics are up 56-41 at half-time. It's looking like the celtics are back on track.

The firing of Avery Johnson was a horrible decision and a very rash one!! He gave Dallas great success. You had a great future with him, he installs the basic of defense first which is key. His success here in Dallas will easily find him another job in the NBA. I believe if they never made a trade for Kidd, they would be better off. Honestly it was a horrible trade...should had gotten shaq instead !!! (lols)

i think JVG is funny as hell as a commentator. i dont know about you guys but i chuckle at least 3 times whenever hes a commentator in a game. with that said i wouldnt want him to leave his spot in ABC hahaha

yeah van gundy is hilarious

Agreed. Van Gundy, Marc Jackson, and Mike Breen are by far my favorite trio of color commentators. Hilarious and informative, ya gotta love it.

Plus, have oyu guys seen the ESPN commercial when the trailor is drifting to the side of the road and it zooms in on Van Gundys facial expression? LOL

Seen it om mute, but never with volume...

D'Antoni doesn't really deserve that much blame imo, the Spurs and their refs were clearly in bed with each other. And somewhat admittedly, the Suns didn't perform to expectations as well.

Yeah, it's true the spurs had plenty of descisions going their way, but to be frank, it was obvious they were going to win the series in the long run.

D'Antoni definitely shouldn't go. I agree with everyone else. He's done too much for the team to just throw him out. I thought that the moves made my PHX management this year were bad moves, especially the Shaq one. Unless D'Antoni was to blame for the trade, I can't see much reason to fire him.

They should consider hiring a defensive coaching staff to help him out, though. I think that would really help.

If you really think the Spurs get special treatment and that people in the league want them to advance, you should take a look at how the finals they participate in tend to kill the ratings, then reconsider.

If anyone was getting special treatment, it's the Celtics. Perkins stepped onto the floor in Game 4 yet he didn't get suspended for it while last year Amare and Diaw were both suspended.

What was up with that anyways? I heard KG practically shoved a ref...and didn't apologize or anything. He just said, "the ref grabbed me" as a justification?

Very strange.
