This is an Uber combo that works pretty well. Dialga+ Cresselia. They cover each other's weaknesses perfectly and the Wish/Twave support Cress provides gives Bulk Up Dialga an easy time setting up.

tyranitar+salamence+scizor/lucario

tyranitar pursuits things and weakens counters, salamence comes in to sweep with dragon dance and outrage then lucario or scizor clean up with priority

Probably one of my older combos, but I guess it's safe to share. I used Wish Mence paired with Reflect Starmie.

Salamence @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
212 HP / 152 Def / 146 Spe
Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
- Wish
- Toxic
- Dragon Claw
- Flamethrower

A freaky set, but it makes good use of attracting Vaporeons and throw Toxic at them. 212 HP is the maximum HP any defensive Salamence should have imo, getting it to 384 HP getting maximum Leftovers recovery. 146 Spe puts Salamence at 244 Speed outspeeding Tyranitar by a point and Speed tieing the standard Bold Celebi. I figured with Reflect from Starmie up, I won't need to outspeed Heracross and Lucario knowing quite well I can live anything they throw at me. The reason I have Relaxed lowering its Speed is so I won't have to waste any power from either Dragon Claw or Flamethrower. To me, having a defensive set like this should have the safest moves possible. Draco Meteor only hinders Salamence into other pokemon setting up on him, such as CM Jirachi and especially CM Mismagius who harms the combo. As for Flamethrower, well that's simply for accuracy purposes.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold (+Def, -Atk)
- Reflect / Rapid Spin
- Recover
- Thunderbolt
- Surf

Now Mixape and Gyarados threaten the Salamence set. Starmie compliments Salamence in countering Mixape and Gyarados (even LO versions failing to OHKO) for the dragon. Now I used to have Rapid Spin over Reflect in the DP era, but with the rise in the Rotom forms I found Rapid Spin's attempts to be futile. Reflect gains an even greater bonus in taking hits from Gyarados and Ape, and in addition it helps me escape Pursuit easier from the likes of Scizor, Snorlax, and especially Tyranitar.

Since people are posting 3-pokemon combinations, I guess it's alright for me to reveal the true finishing touches on the combo in quote ^

Machamp @ Leftovers
Trait: No Guard
252 HP / 122 Atk/ 136 Spe
Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
- Payback
- Ice Punch
- Light Screen

Machamp completes the combination. Starmie and Salamence both have problems with Zapdos, Tyranitar, and Snorlax. Machamp compliments Starmie and Salamence in countering the said threats. Dynamicpunch is Machamp's signature move really, spreading confusion is huge in limiting the opponent into only 50% chance of attacking (aside from Slowbro/Slowking with its ability Own Tempo). Light Screen is huge in taking on Mismagius, Gengar, and the Rotom forms, although the Rotom forms I'm more likely to switch to Mence to spread Toxic on it and stall with Wish. I really should add some SpDef EVs, but I think I'd rather get the 180 Speed to outspeed Skarmory, although the Atk EVs are simply filler. Ice Punch over Stone Edge so I can counter Zapdos better since it can stall Stone Edge easier than it can with Ice Punch. Pretty much the only reason as Stone Edge hits everything Ice Punch already hits, plus I have Starmie to counter Gyarados.

what gives you the right to post arbitrary guidelines like that, especially when people are posting cool stuff? "three is a team" is a pretty dumb thing to say. also many "good core combos" have a decent amount of offense, part of walling is making it harder for stuff to switch in/set up

why not Hyper Cutter, to suppress Intimidates?

Because with a +1 LO (swords dance-intimidate), it will still OHKO what it needs to, and provided you have sandstorm support, the 80% evasion is very nice. Plus the fact that both Gliscor and Empoleon resist sandstorm makes it a welcome addition to the combo.

I'd prefer ResTalk Machamp there to take on status, though I guess Starmie can kind of do that. It really does make Machamp a much better switch into Blissey though.

I like that trio. Nice Job.

P.S. - Where are these sprites coming from?

How can zapdos stall an attack with a base power of 100 better than a base power of 75? I like the idea of the set, but I really think your better off having stone edge>ice punch, since like you said they both pretty much cover the same stuff, except stone edge hits higher. The only reason I could see Ice Punch staying on for is maybe flygon, because starmie does not enjoy taking uturns on the switch, especially banded uturns. Although I'd assume dynamic punch can already do a decent amount of damage to flygon.

Overall I like the combo.

I'm starting to think that Dragon Claw is pretty useless since with experience it hasn't been KOing Salamence, Dragonite, or Flygon at full HP or even at 3/4 HP. I guess I can throw Earthquake over Dragon Claw and see where that goes. Rest Talk Champ was my first option, but I figured with the Reflect and Wish, Machamp will possibily be gaining HP anyway (through smart playing of course).

For a defensive set it's better if I have Ice Punch for conserving PP, and cmon I have Starmie to take out Gyarados anyway so there's no worry, Dynamic Punch with 50% confusion hax and Light Screen will beat Zapdos with Ice Punch anyway. I know Stone Edge hits everything (except Flygon) that Ice Punch already does, but... I think it's alright to bring up the term "There's no I in team." It's better to have the moves best suited for the team rather than individual performances imo, and I think Ice Punch is better in this case.
