The Official "Complain about being beat by Seattle Defense" Thread

Halp. Should I start RGIII over Newton this week?

I hate starting guys who have had one or two big weeks over guys that are reliable producers. Giants-Panthers should be a shootout, and 80% of the offense will probably come from Cam; I wouldn't make an unnecessary risk in starting a guy that *might* get more points than him, but is likely to hit a lull in production sometime soon.

Dante Roasario or Jacob Tamme? I dropped Michael Floyd for Rosario because Aaron Hernandez is injured :/

Also of these 5, choose 3 to start.

Colston
Brandon Marshall
Reggie Wayne
Kenny Britt
Cedric Benson

2 wr slots, 1 flex.

Rosario is boom or bust if Gates doesn't play, he might get a TD and he might be useless. If you're feeling bold go ahead and play him, but otherwise stick with Tamme.

Is the league PPR or standard? Marshall is a must, and Wayne is a must if it's PPR and I'd start him over anyone else anyway. I like Benson because I love having monday night players on my team, and in a hostile stadium the Pack will probably try to run the ball a lot. If it's PPR you could go with Colston, but I'd stick with Benson because the Saints have had trouble getting the ball to their WRs so far this season.

So I'm facing a guy in the non-Smogon league that I'm in that I thought would be an easy win. However, Martellus Bennett and Andre Brown got him 43 points already.

-_-

making a couple gambles this week.

starting Eric Decker over Dwanye Bowe, because i trust Manning reading and checking down to Decker more than i trust Cassel to do...anything. even though the Saints secondary is much weaker than the Texans, it's still early in the season and the Texans have yet to face an elite QB.

on the other side of things, i'm also starting the Broncos D over the Ravens D. tough choice here, but i think the Ravens might get trounced by an angry Brady this week, and while the Texans are again a high-powered team, the Broncos D is the best they'll have faced all year.

thoughts? am i being dumb here?

imo Decker over Bowe is pretty crazy. The Saints' secondary sucks, and with KC's defense the Chiefs are gonna have to score a lot of points quickly in order to keep up. Bowe is their #1 receiver and they'll probably be throwing a lot. He's also a lot better than Decker in terms of plain skill. Decker has yet to establish a connection with Manning, who has relied heavily on Thomas and Stokley and his running game.

Broncos D over Ravens D is pretty close, there are reasons to use both. Brady's O-line has been terrible, and he has a pretty bad track record against the Ravens compared to most other teams. However, the Broncos defense has performed excellently this season, and if it wasn't for a couple choice turnovers they would have dominated the Falcons last week just as they dominated the Steelers the week before. Either one works, really.

i'm starting Cecil Shorts over Laurent Robinson from now on.

EDIT:

well Decker has passed Bowe in points, but i don't think it will affect my win.

Last week I was absolutely rape, and this week I'm absolutely pathetic with the exact same lineup and similarly wonderful matchups.

Fuck inconsistency.

Gah, looking like I'm going to lose in all three of my leagues this week, including twice to pookar. Unless some players really bomb it / get hurt on my opponents' side...

And you didn't take it? steeleravatar.jpg
i was expecting spiller to blow it up today (he was going to) and AP to do mediocre (he did okay)

and then i'd accept, because f-jax is coming back, buffalo's schedule gets tougher from an RB standpoint, and AP is AP

Fuck Cam Newton, I'm starting RG3 from here on out. Also fuck you Spiller, that's my 3 best players injured....

When Hakeem Nicks and Matt Forte come back I'll be dominant, LeShoure playing as well as he did was a nice surprise :)

yeah not sure which "fantasy" person on twitter that i follow said to grab LeShoure, but he was my highest scoring player today.

Not sure what the fuck the Lions were thinking that they decided to literally give Kevin Smith zero touches.

last week i lost by a point.

this week i won by a point.

@_@

Decker: 13 / Bowe: 7
Broncos: 3 / Ravens 0

sooooooooo yeah. thanks for the advice bros. ;)

but it all worked out in the end so i ain't mad.

Barring any 50+ point performances from either Marshawn Lynch or Steven Hauschka (lol), I move my record to 6-0 in both of my Smogon leagues. Yay Andre Brown

Fantasy's always a toss-up, if I'm ever in doubt I go with my gut. Luckily it didn't cost you the matchup, but if it did it's easier to be mad at yourself than being mad at what the crowd says.

I almost benched Jamaal Charles for Donald Brown this week in my money league, but I stuck with my gut and gave Charles one more shot. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well, as the week before I played Cobb over Bowe and almost lost because of it.

I'm 9-0 in three leagues but about to move to 1-2 in league C. I thought I had a pretty good team going in that league too! I still have an excess of RBs and need another WR, if anyone wants to offer me someone who isn't Kevin Smith. Somehow I'm doing worse in this league than in the one where I'm starting DeAngelo Williams and Jacquizz Rodgers as my two RBs...

lol I went 0-5 again this week for a combined total of 2-13 in the first 3 weeks in all my leagues. It's comforting to know other people are suffering from the same frustrating inconsistencies in performance though, as I don't think I've ever seen as many normally-reliable studs be so inconsistent as I have this season so far (read: Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo, Andre Johnson, LeSean McCoy). Hell, my most reliable starters so far have all been later round picks like Reggie Wayne, Antonio Brown, Danny Amendola, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, and lol Jason Hanson.

Is anyone else noticing the higher uncertainty this year than in previous years? Or am I just snakebit?

It seems like it's just your teams. I've had one inconsistent league (in which I'm starting Peyton, DeMarco, and DMC; the inconsistent results don't surprise me at all), but the rest of them, I've scored consistently for the first 3 weeks.

Ive had the unfortunate right to having some of the most injury prone teams. of course i was expecting this as i drafted dmc in almost every league (and players like vick) but i did not expect players like forte hernandez fjax and spiller to get injured

seriously i think ahead in a league and draft both fjax and spiller and they both get injured. guess i should have thought ahead one more time and picked up choice

5-3 right now in my 3 leagues. Gonna go to 6-3 if the Packers defense gets 6 points or more, which they should. 0-3 in Smogon cuz autodraft fucked me and gave me an awful team. I lost last week by 40 points and thought it could only get better. Week 3 score: 66-131. Oh well, at least I'm doing well in the leagues i drafted in lol.
