Challenge The Scramble Challenge - Mark 2

I am back from way long ago to do another scramble challenge. I'm doing this for Pokemon Y, no trading. Make it medium difficulty. Not a cakewalk, but not brutal either.

Pokemon so far:
PSDuckie:
Take Firefox the Fennekin.

Firefox wants to be the very best, and that means being better than Internet Explorer or Chrome. Solo all Bug-types and all Steel-types.

Solo Viola to evolve into Braixen. After all, she uses Internet Explorer!

Solo all three Lysandre fights. Lysandre has been messing with the source!

Finally, solo Yveltal to evolve into Delphox. Do I even need to give a reason to get rid of Yveltal?
Regiultima115

Ferrothorn:

To evolve into Ferrothorn, solo Korrina without the use of status moves that affect the opposing Pokemon (ex. Protect is ok but Leech Seed is not)

In order to use held items, Ferroseed/Ferrothorn must solo your rival's Greninja (or evo) without grass type attacks (both damaging and status)

If these seem too hard, let me know and I'll change them
Jimera0

Amaura

Verxilo Take an Amaura and name it Freezer. Freezer is enamored with it's ability, Refrigerate. It's so enamored with it that it refuses to use any actual Ice-Type attacks; the only Ice-type attacks it's using are Normal-type moves that are made into Ice-type moves by its ability! It is also jealous of its more successful counterpart, Tyrunt. Freezer seeks to prove that it is better than Tyrunt and it's lame "Strong Jaw" ability, so it must solo Grant's Tyrunt. This jealousy does not end when it evolves; instead it simply shifts to Tyrantrum. As you have probably guessed, this means it must also solo Diantha's Tyrantrum.
Chingling:

Verxilo I got something for you.
"The Burned Tower used to have a bell on it, too..."
Bella the Chingling. This is her backstory:
Bella left home because she found life in Sinnoh boring. She floated around until she found Johto and Ecruteak City.
Due to the aging of some craftsmen, the number of blacksmiths near Ecruteak began to dwindle. Thus, when the bell on the Whirl Tower fell to the ground one day and shattered, there was no one to fix it.
The people, distraught over the loss of such a powerful icon, immediately looked for a substitute to replace it. They looked around far and wide until they found a Bronzong that was willing to fulfill the role.
Both the people and the Bronzong knew, however, that Pokémon, like bells, are not truly ageless. What would they do after the Bronzong's time was up?
Meanwhile, the people and the Bronzong joined in with the worship of the heavenly Lugia. They taught the Bronzong their complex rites. And that was when Bella came.
The people, mystified by the ringing sound that emanated from her, decided that she would be the apprentice bell Pokémon. The Bronzong began teaching her about the rituals, and the mythical beasts- Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.
One day, a group of people dressed in red suits came to Ecruteak City. They came with one mission: to burn everything.
As they advanced towards the Whirl Tower, they began sending out Pokémon- hordes upon hordes of Fire-type Pokémon. A blazing inferno began to engulf the tower. Bella and the Bronzong were trapped.
Suddenly, three creatures of incredible beauty and power charged towards the tower. Entei guarded the other buildings with a protective wall of fire that not even the Fire-type Pokémon could get through. Raikou cut through the ranks of people and Pokémon with its Electric moves, rendering them dazed. And Suicune shot massive jets of water at the Whirl Tower in an effort to save it.
Bella, having the ability Levitate, was able to escape the tower. Bronzong was not.
The invaders had no choice but to retreat. The legendary beasts, having done their job, went their separate ways. The Whirl Tower became known as the Burned Tower. But Bella wanted vengeance. She followed the attackers, knowing she was too weak to defeat them alone. She would become stronger.
Having a Trainer to support her gives Bella the strength to overcome this enemy.
-Must solo all Team Flare commanders.
-Her teachings told her to worship the two Great Ones (Ho-Oh and Lugia), three Mythical Beasts (Raikou, Entei, and Suicune), and two Elemental Beings (Vaporeon and Jolteon). Solo one Team Flare Grunt for each of these (7 in total) to be able to evolve. After this, however, Bella cannot participate in any more battles with Team Flare Grunts at the risk of worshipping the False Prophet.
-Must solo all Trainers' Pokémon (except for Team Flare's, and the aforementioned Tyrantrum) that are Grass, Rock or Ground type. These are the weaknesses of the mythical beasts, and they must be eradicated.
-Can't deal direct damage to Electric, Fire, or Water types, the types of the mythical beasts. (Toxic, etc. is OK though)
-You can catch Chinglings on the route in front of the Reflection Cave iirc.
-If you find being forced to fight Pokémon like, say, Barbaracle without direct attacks too difficult, you can remove the direct attacks restriction against Pokémon that are also Grass/Rock/Ground type.

Trubbish

PSDuckie (Again...)

Take Energy? the Trubbish.

  • This Trubbish is confused about his typing; he thinks he is Electric-type, not Poison-type. All calculations involving Energy?'s type must treat him as a pure Electric-type.
  • In order to release his Electric-typing, he has to face Fire-types. Solo all Fire-types not already soloed by other mons.
  • Speaking of Fire-types, you may never heal burns on Energy?. Any other status condition is OK to heal, but if Energy? is burned, you may not heal it. To evolve to Garbodor, Energy? must faint while afflicted by a burn.
  • Finally, solo Malva.

Snaquaza

Catch Lock-Down the Dunsparce.

The challenge will be fairly simple. As soon as Dunsparce uses any move, it may only use that move until it encounters and beats a Pokemon of the same type as the move. During this time, no other Pokemon may battle and no items may be used, neither may Pokemon be caught or may you run or switch at all. Basically, all you're allowed to do during the battle is using that move. You may use items before choosing a new move when you've unlocked yourself.

If Dunsparce faints and fails to complete this, you must solo the next (available for solo) gym with Dunsparce. This stacks, so each time you faint, you must solo a gym.

If Dunsparce is ever the lowest level, it must be used until it is the highest level Pokemon on your team. If it faints while doing this, return to the Pokemon center immediately to continue (you must still solo a gym for fainting as well.)

That's fine, PSDuckie. I'll add it to my list. Thanks!

I eagerly await it.
I didn't realize you wanted challenges with the Pokemon so here are two for Ferrothorn:

To evolve into Ferrothorn, solo Korrina without the use of status moves that affect the opposing Pokemon (ex. Protect is ok but Leech Seed is not)

In order to use held items, Ferroseed/Ferrothorn must solo all fire type Pokemon. The moment Ferroseed/Ferrothorn fails to solo a fire type Pokemon, it loses access to held items at the next possible moment.

If these seem too hard, let me know and I'll change them

Um, that conflicts with my challenge. Lysandre has a Pyroar, which, last I checked, is Fire-type.

You're right. I did not think about that. In that case, to unlock held item use, have Ferroseed/Ferrothorn solo your rival's Greninja (or evo) without grass type attacks (both damaging and status)

This'll be great. I'll add it to my list. Thanks!

EDIT: The one thing I want to ask for from this challenge is a name. That's half the fun, after all. XD

So there are still some people trying to make this work I see! I miss the heydays of this thread. Oh well, I'll might as well help those who're still here along a bit.

This jealousy does not end when it evolves; instead it simply shifts to Tyrantrum. As you have probably guessed, this means it must also solo Diantha's Tyrantrum.

Good luck! Those solos should prove suitably challenging I think, though the rest of it shouldn't be too hard.

I, too, miss the days where this thread was really active. (And by really active, I mean it took like, a month to get a challenge going XD) The single Scramble I did back then was one of my favorite playthroughs of a Pokemon game ever. It was great.

There was a time when this thread was so active that if you wanted to give someone a Pokemon before their team filled up and wanted to give out a decently thought out Pokemon, you actually had to RESERVE your spot. Challanges would fill up in under an hour.

It's been a long time since then now.

I don't miss it being that active, but it would be nice to see a few more of these being done.

Hi! This thread looks really interesting and I want to try it out!
I think I'll go with a White 2 file.
Make it reasonably hard, but not too hard.
I do have access to trading.
Thanks!
1. Confused the Psyduck.
-It must have the move Disable at all times (so I have to breed one with Disable).
-It can't learn any special Water moves or Psychic moves.
2. Wiper the Clamperl.
-It must solo the entire battle once it is sent out, whether it is wild or trained.
-Solo 50 trained Pokémon to evolve into Huntail...
-...but if Wiper faints during the battle, none of the Pokémon it previously defeated during that battle count.
-Must solo all Steel types and Trainers that send out a Steel type after evolvong.
3. Honor the Oshawott
-Can't learn special or status moves, but must know Focus Energy and Razor Shell
-Can't fight Fire/Rock/Ground Pokémon unless it is the last remaining Pokémon
-Solo Roxie to: Evolve into Dewott, forget Focus Energy, and learn other status moves (but none that affect the opponent).
-Try to solo Elesa's Gym, but if Honor faints before defeating 2 members, it must restore its pride by soloing Clay's Gym, and can't use any status moves until then. Honor can evolve after Elesa is defeated.
-If Clay's Gym is successfully soloed, Honor can fight Fire/Rock/Ground Pokémon and learn special moves. It can also change its name.
4. X the Y
-Must be obtained through Wonder Trading the first Pokémon on a previously selected route; since this is White 2 and I can't Wonder Trade, I'll just Wonder Trade a random Pokémon from my Y file and obtain another of the received Pokémon in my White 2 file, assuming it's not Kalos exclusive (or Water type).
-Can only learn moves that the traded Pokémon's evolutionary line could learn.
5. Dumb AI the Porygon
-Every time Dumb AI battles, roll a die: On a roll of 1-4, use the move of choice. On 5, use an item. On 6, switch Dumb AI out.
-Evolve into Porygon2 whenever.
-Solo Marlon (ignore rolls of 6) to evolve one last time.
6. Heavyweight (Hevyweight due to 10 characters) the Solosis
-Must eat twice as much food as it would otherwise (discard extra healing item)
-May evolve after eating 50 items
-After evolution, may not be used until after Chargestone Cave
-Solo all Trainers in Celestial Tower and then Skyla to evolve once more
-As a Reuniclus, must know Rock Smash and Rollout, and use one of these moves at the beginning of each fight
PSDuckie I have access to BW, Black 2, and Poke Transfer.
Verxilo I got something for you.

This seems like a cool thread, I'd love a really hard scramble of Omega Ruby! I can trade with a Y version, but I'd prefer not to.
Obese must eat every time it is sent out! Otherwise you may not use it. All one-time use items count as food / drinks. However, Obese also gets mad at you if you feed any other Pokemon, since it thinks it is the only one who should get the food. You may not use any one-time item on any other of your Pokemon.

Additionally, Obese always wants to taste everything it encounters... This means that it may only use contact moves, as it must get close enough to lick the opponent and taste it.

Obese must solo Wattson to evolve. Wattson is taking all his food! Obese must be evolved.

Once Obese evolves, its addiction grows even worse. It can never get enough food! Obese resorts to eating other Pokemon. It has always licked other Pokemon, but now it actually wants to eat them after Obese knows how they taste. This means that after you've attacked a Pokemon, Obese may not switch out anymore until it has eaten the opponent. After the opposing trainer has switched (you may not switch on their switch, you must use a turn), Obese must switch out to rest after it has eaten.

It is the worst if Obese actually gets KOd... If it gets KOd, it'll eat one of its team members. This team member is permanently dead, as it has been eaten by Obese. If you want, you can restart their challenge by catching a new Pokemon, but any limited actions (like evolving by solo-ing someone), may not be done anymore, if the eaten Pokemon has fullfilled the requirement already (and hence the new one can't anymore).
  • You must catch Umbrite using a Premier Ball. And not just any Premier Ball, either. You must get the Premier Ball in question by buying 10 Great Balls, not 10 Poke Balls.
  • No held items. In fact, I'll go farther and say no items can be used on Umbrite at all, with the one exception of the Premier Ball used to catch him.
  • Solo Tate and Liza to evolve into Graveler. All your other Pokemon must be boxed for this solo.
  • Solo Groudon, Heatran, and all four Regis to evolve into Golem.
  • Finally, if Umbrite is released due to Obese's restrictions, its slot on the team must remain forever empty. You may not recatch Umbrite.

Silver_Lucario42 Use a Psyduck. Name it Confused. It cannot learn Psychic-Type attacks or special Water-Type attacks, and must have the move Disable at all times.

Hey Bobadilla! Take Obese the Makuhita.

Obese must eat every time it is sent out! Otherwise you may not use it. All one-time use items count as food / drinks. However, Obese also gets mad at you if you feed any other Pokemon, since it thinks it is the only one who should get the food. You may not use any one-time item on any other of your Pokemon.

It has always licked other Pokemon, but now it actually wants to eat them after Obese knows how they taste. This seems pretty mindblowingly hard! (My favorite ones!) Hope you like it (and you wanted hard). If needed, I can make it a little easier.

Bobadilla take Umbrite the Geodude.

You wanted hard? I'll give you hard!

Too hard? Not hard enough? Let me know and I'll change it!

Sorry for the double post.

Silver_Lucario42 take Wiper the Clamperl.

As the name suggests, this Clamperl likes to wipe opposing teams.

  • Wiper may not enter any battle unless he solos that battle. For wild Pokemon, this means soloing that Pokemon; for trainers, this means soloing the entire trainer.
  • Solo 50 trained Pokemon to evolve into Huntail. That said, if Wiper faints during a trainer battle, none of that trainer's Pokemon count towards this restriction.
  • No evolving into Gorebyss. Ever.
  • Once evolved, solo all wild Steel-types and all trainers that have any Steel-types. Because reasons.
Too easy? Too hard? Let me know and I'll change it!

I will take that challenge, it seems like fun! I'm adding it to my list now.

To other people who are just starting a challenge (Bobadilla and Silver_Lucario42) I will reserve a pokemon to give to you guys. I just need time to think about what to give you. XD

Silver_Lucario42 take Honor the Oshawott

Honor is, as his name implies, honorable, and as such will not participate in foul play. He also prefers to engage in close combat, charging in as opposed to staying at a distance. As such, Honor cannot learn or use special moves or status moves. The exception to this restriction is Focus Energy, which Honor must know in order to hone himself. Honor uses his razor sharp shells as his preferred weapon, and must learn the move Razor Shell ASAP. He cannot forget this move. Honor's nature also prevents him from taking advantage of his opponent's weaknesses, and will not exploit any type weaknesses. He refuses to fight fire, rock, or ground-type pokemon unless he is the last pokemon left in your team.

Honor thinks Roxie is to young and immature to be a Gym Leader, and intends to teach her a lesson about the real world. He must solo Roxie in order to evolve into Dewott. (Just the Gym Leader, not the gym) Afterwards, he realizes that she is determined to become stronger, and it inspires him to move on, and maybe enjoy life a bit more. After this point, Honor can learn status moves, but not anything that affects the opponent, such as Tail Whip or Toxic. He no longer has to keep Focus Energy.

At this point, Honor is having much more fun on his journey, but still has his honor. At this point, however, he hits a roadblock. After meeting Elesa and learning that her gym is electric-type, he takes it as a challenge. Honor must solo as many members there as possible. If he faints before defeating at least 2 members, his pride is shattered, and he must redeem himself. He cannot use any of the status moves he learned until he proves himself to be worthy once again. In order to redeem himself, he must completely solo Clay's gym, despite the advantage he has. If he does manage to defeat at least 2 members, his honor will be secure, and he begins to have even more fun than before. Because of this, he realizes that fighting at a disadvantage could be fun, and hopes to show other pokemon this joy. Remove the restriction on fighting Fire, Rock, or Ground-type pokemon. If he manages to defeat the entire gym on his own, he has just had the time of his life. This kind of event makes him realize that life is more than fighting and honor. Remove the restrictions on special moves, as well as the restrictions on fighting Fire, Rock, and Ground-type pokemon. If you want, you can now change his name from Honor to whatever else you think fits.

No matter what happens after Elesa, Honor can now evolve into Samurott.

Here's a list in case you don't wanna read the long-ass flavor I wrote:
Honor
  • Cannot learn special or status moves.
  • Must know Focus Energy
  • Must know Razor Shell
  • Cannot fight Fire-, Rock-, or Ground-Type Pokemon unless he is the last pokemon left
  • Must solo Roxie in order to evolve
  • Can learn status moves that affect himself after soloing Roxie
  • Can forget Focus Energy after soloing Roxie
  • Must solo as much of Elesa's Gym as possible in order to evolve
  • If less than 2 members are soloed:
    • Must solo all of Clay's Gym
    • Cannot use status moves until the above is done
  • If at least 2 members are soloed:
    • Remove restriction on fighting Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-type Pokemon
  • If the entire gym is soloed:
    • Remove restriction on Special moves
    • Remove restriction on fighting Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-type Pokemon
    • OPTIONAL: Can change Honor's name to something else

This was a really long challenge, holy crap. I didn't expect that.
I designed it to get easier as you go further, I hope it works for you!

Bobadilla, your challenge will come later, once I've rested my brain a bit. XD
