I'm suprised that Senderos has got a fitness at Ac Milan. As a gunner I believe Senderos is awful. I can't guess now but I think it's going to depend on the next few weeks. It should be like this:

1) Manchester United
2) Chelsea
3)Arsenal/Liverpool

Liverpool have signed some good players this season so they should do better, but if they start to drop to far behind the top 3 I don't think they'll have the moral to catch up again. If manchester united don't get over having plays missing they might have to settle for 2nd or 3rd. Personally I hope they sell Ronaldo to Madrid on the last day for a rediculous amount of money, and then because of the rush with signing the contracts they skip the medical. Only to get back to Madrid and discover it's career ending. I would like to see the Arsenal bus driving around again though. I haven't seen it in a few years.

I'm bored of MU. I used to love them [which is permissible considering I come from manchester!] but it's just boring, sanitised football.
I like the swans at present, it's good to watch a team come up through the ranks and improve, rather than just mill about in the premier league. matches are important, promotion and relegation are possibilities, and you just don't get that with Man U.

Manchester United overachieved last year, but they are still good enough for runner up in the Premiership. If they win anything this year, it will be the FA Cup. Chelsea for the title. Liverpool will upset Arsenal and take 3rd.

It would be so perfect if Mourinho's Inter Milan defeat Chelsea in the Champion's League Final.

Chelsea have the best team this season. Liverpool have been pretty lucky until now, and I dearly hope our luck doesn't run out against Standard Liege. :(

Edit - McGay is gay but I have to agree that it will be awesome if Inter beat Chelsea at some point.

Football lightbulb jokes :)

How many Manchester United fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

3. 1 to change the bulb, 1 to buy the Official Manchester United Lightbulb Changing Commemorative Gift Pack and 1 to drive the 3 of them back to Penzance.

Liverpool were expected to exceed over Arsenal last year but never did. With or without that in the back my mind, I still believe that the top 4 will mirror their exact places from last year's results.

It is going to be tough for us in the upcoming weeks, with us playing both Liverpool and Chelsea back-to-back away from home.

Hopefully United will have the majority of the squad fit (or eligible) for the Liverpool and Chelsea games. From what I've seen of Liverpool so far, if they play that poorly against United next month, they'll get destroyed. They can perform poorly against teams like Sunderland and still win, but if they don't perform against the top sides, they'll still keep that dismal record they have against the rest of the top four. Though I have to give Liverpool credit for still beating Sunderland and Middlesbrough, in past seasons Liverpool would've drawn those games, but so far they're doing it the "Champions" way, winning games when playing badly is a sign of a good team. But if their performances don't improve, they won't acheive what most people are expecting from them this season.

I still think this season will kind of mirror last season, with Manchester United or Chelsea taking the title by a couple of points, but Liverpool being only slightly behind those two sides instead of Arsenal who will most likely finish 4th. (Tipping Aston Villa to take 5th this time now).

However, even though I'm a United fan and should always expect us to be able to win every trophy, if we don't sign a new proven striker this season, I think Chelsea will just outdo us in the end.

Which match a Turkish team has won in the last 10 minutes?

I can hear the cars' horns but can't hear any team's name

No one is really expecting Liverpool to win this season. Everyone wants them to at least challenge for the title, which I hope we will do.

AND YEAH KUYT SAVES THE DAY!! Either Standard Ligue played superb football or we were just plain horrendous once more. Hey, we are doing it the "champion's way" and winning, so that's what matters. :toast:

PS. Havak, I am not a towel. You are!

God, I was preparing myself for penalties with a can of beer and a sandwhich, only to be dissapointed after a last-ditch effort that proved successful. Well... at least we have another strong team in the Champions League this year.

It's a real shame that AC Milan couldn't make it into the top 4 of their own domestic league, and not only that, but it must have been really embarrassing for them as well. Failure to qualify for a cup that is half-naked without them competing in it is a big dissapointment for a club like AC Milan. No Kaka this year. :(

Manchester City put in a £30m bid for Berbatov today, if he goes to the blue side of Manchester instead I will die.

I am similarly shitting myself, although apparently on Sky Sports News he's at United's Carrington.

Also, apparently Real fucking Madrid have bid £36m (sounds and smells like crap)

Yeh, I hope we sign him (or someone) as we've left Saha and Campbell go now, stupid...

Well... either way, something has to happen today. I really want a front-man up there with Rooney and/or Tevez playing of him to create chances. We are starting off slowly - like we do nearly every year - and with a few key players missing, it can only get worse!

We let Campbell go already? For how much? tbh I don't rate Campbell all too highly and we've got Welbeck and Manucho for 4th choice so it's not too bad. If we got £7m I'd be happy.

I think we'll get Berbatov, he's not going to pass up the chance to play Champons Leaguesh (as Steve McClaren would say) for uefa cup at City.

If he scores in front of the kop, he's paid back half of his transfer fee already.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Anyway, I can't take this transfer talk anymore. So I'll warm us up with some info for Liverpool vs Manchester United:

Missing Key Players: (So far)

Liverpool: Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard.

Manchester United: Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Owen Hargreaves & Michael Carrick.
___________________________________________________________

Love playing Liverpool, they haven't beat us for a while now and are probably due a win. They're without Torres and possibly Gerrard, we'll be missing Ronaldo for sure. (Carrick, Hargreaves & Giggs are all possible choices, and it's still possible we could sign Dimitar Berbatov at this time).

Fergie's line-up:

------------------- Van Der Sar ----------------
- Brown ----- Ferdinand ---- Vidić ------ Evra -
------------- Anderson ------- Scholes ---------
- Fletcher ------------------------------ Nani -
---------------- Tévez ---- Rooney -------------

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Park Ji-Sung, Possebon, Gibson & Rafael De Silva.

This is a "worst-case" scenario line-up IMO. This is in case we don't have Carrick, Hargreaves or Giggs fit and don't manage to sign Berbatov. Fergie will be reluctant to drop Fletcher after such good performances in the Premier League so far, not to mention he's the only one to chip in with goals so far. It'd be harsh to drop him even if we have Hargreaves back. Anyway, that's almost an unchanged team from the match with Zenit St. Petersburg, which we lost, but on paper that's our strongest team. (I'd personally have Park on the right for more penetration, but I feel that Fergie will utilize the pace of Park towards the end of the game, especially seeing how he won't be at full match fitness). The rest of the team picks itself, we only have the two strikers, Neville isn't up to full fitness and Brown is probably better than him now sadly. Nani needs to perform, Scholes needs to keep his hands off the ball etc. But all in all it's a strong side.

If we get any of our injured players back, he'll probably stick them on the bench instead of some of our less experienced players. (Gibson, Possebon, Rafael). I'm unsure if he'll start Berbatov if we manage to make the signing, but seeing him on the bench would also make me happy.

I'm going to be boring and predict a 0-0 draw as both teams are lacking penetration, playing badly and missing players. In theory it's got 0-0 written all over it, but since it's Liverpool vs Manchester United, we've got to expect some crazy things to happen.

(Just in case you were wondering, which I doubt people are, I'd play Fletcher in the middle next to Scholes with Park on the wing. Anderson on the bench for a bit of a rest, though that's providing we only have the squad I posted up there already).

How long is Giggs out for?

I could easily see that line-up going 4-3-3 with Anderson, Fletcher, Scholes in the middle and Tevez to the left of Rooney and Nani to the right.

No idea how long Giggs or Hargreaves are out for, they're possibilities for the Liverpool game. I'm pretty sure Carrick will definately not play and Ronaldo is obviously out until late Sept / early Oct.

Adding Anderson to the injured list as he's just been ruled out.

Midfield will need a reshuffle now:

Park -- Fletcher -- Scholes -- Nani

Fletcher -- O'Shea -- Scholes -- Nani

One of those will be what Fergie picks now I'd imagine.

BBC have confirmed that Robinho has signed for Manchester City. Good god, I did not see that one coming...

EDIT: The Spurs website has announced that they reached an agreement with United for the permanent transfer of Dimitar Berbatov. Finally!

Stupid City jacking up the price...at least we got a decent team to give experience to Campbell.

As for Robinho joining City lol, he doesn't know there are two teams in Manchester does he?

Liverpool are fucked against Man United lol, but I believe in the hearts of the cards. Let's play horrible football and yet win yeah!!

I think the lineup will be:

---------------Reina--------------------
--Arbeloa--Carragher--Agger--Dossena--
--------Lucas------Masceranho-------
--Kuyt--------Alonso------------Riera--
--------------Keane--------------------

Subs: Cavalieri, Aurelio, Babel, Benayoun, Ngog, Plessis, Skrtel.

I dearly hope Rafa gets the obsession of playing good players out of position out of his thick head. Keane is not a left winger lol and Kuyt sucks. I wish Babel would start instead of Kuyt for once, then we might actually have some pace in the wide areas that we are surely going to need against ManU.
