That tells me precisely why you won't win the league, Gerrard and Torres gone and the rest is shite, especially that bench.

What a fucking joke. It all stinks of a season ticket selling plot.

Mike Ashley needs to spend more money on constructing something that resembles a team and a little less money on beer and pies.

EDIT: On hindsight, that was pretty immature but he has gone from hero to zero pretty fucking quickly over the last few days.

Wsa a bit of a surprise with Kegan as well, I never thought they'd even think of sacking him so soon. I always expected him to still be there though. (And for a while at that).

Keegan has not yet resigned nor has he been sacked, as of yet. According to what I heard on Radio 1 this afternoon, Keegan had a meeting with the board today and nothing has actually happened.

Al-Fahim also confirmed that Torres and Fábregas were among his targets as City look to bring in a "minimum 18" players.

lol he wants to buy a whole new squad.

He has been playing too much Pro Evo goddamn this is ridiculous. And they will offer Ronaldo a £320,000 a weak salary apparently lol.

Money cannot over-power football - it simply can not!

I have been reading many discussions on this matter and more often that not, even Manchester City fans (as well as other supports from various clubs) believe that this is too good to be true. Al-Fahim is too ambitious and seems to think that money will win these all-stars over. But when we look at the targets closer, all but one is too passionate and loyal to their respective clubs to be lured in by the green.

Yes, I am skeptical on behalf of Ronaldo's actions this summer, which has led me to believe that he is not as loyal to United as I originally thought. Unfortunately for Al-Fahim, even Ronaldo is not so greedy to ship accross to the over side of Manchester - he will leave for only one club, and we know which club that is. So the chances of money tempting Ronaldo to miss an opportunity for a sunny life in Spain to move over to City is very, very unlikely.

The rest, however, I believe are very loyal to the club they play for. For instance, Torres, who claimed that Liverpool was the club he had dreamt playing for since he was a kid. Fabregas has been related to Henry, who is more than likely going to leave the EPL entirely before joining another club here. And Messi, uh.. he just seems like the kind of guy who has stuck with Barcelona, through thick and thin, with little to not complaints at all. He seems passionate with an incredible future ahead of him - and I don't that think money will stand in the way of that.

No matter how much money they have, they won't sign the "best" players from each top four club lol.

And you have been assured of that because Mark Hughes still remains the man who decides 'who comes and who goes where', regarding City. We know that Mark is far more knowledgable than Al-Fahim on this subject.

The reason Messi is so loyal to Barca is because they paid for his growth hormone treatment, which he couldnt afford in Argentina, and would be literally a dwarf or near damn close enough.

Barca basically took him to Spain and paid for his treatment and he's about 5'5 which isn't tall but isn't ridiculous.

Messi has done so much to barcelona that he can leave anytime he wants
The treatment was very expensive, yes, but messi payed it a very long time ago, playing in barcelona to pay it,without having pay
Now he can leave, but the real reason is that he's very comfortable there,he's friends, and a life in spain, why would he ever leave from barcelona?

and lampard's just had one ruled out.

Why was this ruled out anyway? Watching the game in Chinese really didn't help me there.

Great for Walcott to get a hat-trick though, hopefully he can carry it into his Arsenal performances.

Best i've seen England play for ages.

Ack ffs.

Looks like the papers will be filled tomorrow of how great england is, that walcott is the one and only, and they were wrong all along about Capello, and that Mclaren really was a wally with a brolly, and that's how it's done properly blah blah.

tis why I hate living in England.

Great result for England. I know it'll all be overshadowed by comments in the paper of Walcott being the hottest talent on the market and the fact Croatia had 10 men for around 40 minutes. But the fact is we bossed it when it was 11 a side, Capello got his game right and we played extremely well. It could've easily been 5 or 6 and we fully deserved that win, I'm actually confident of England topping the group for the first time in a long while.

Now, back to Saturday's game.

Man United have some unexpected boosts, as both Ryan Giggs and Miachael Carrick have been deemed fit enough at this moment in time and will be up for selection for the match against Liverpool. This means that the only players missing will be Cristiano Ronaldo and possibly Owen Hargreaves, so we'll have a very strong squad to choose from, including new signing Dimitar Berbatov.

Liverpool are still set to have no Steven Gerrard or Fernando Torres.

Heskey fouled a Croat defender from what I saw.

Walcott won't sustain that form for a couple of years yet.
