Adem Ljajic, nicknamed 'Little Kaka', has reportedly been handed a chance to impress Manchester United on a trial basis. The attacking midielder, just 17-years-old, is regarded as one of Serbia's brightest young talent. United themselves will hope to find potential within this young wonderkid, in hopes to see whether or not this 'Little Kaka' will develop into someone as good as the 'Big Kaka'.

In a change of subject, Wayne Rooney, who has now scored 7 goals in 5 games, will be looking to ensure that his in-form performences improve even further as the the season continues. It is an absolute certainty that Rooney will appear on United's starting line-up this weekend.

Torres is injured X.X
Actually, half of my fantasy team got injured during the week. What do I do now???

Also I didn't know Heskey was so useful...

Manchester United vs. West Bromwich Albion

Rooney is in shit hot form at the moment, hopefully he'll have another blinder against West Brom tomorrow. Sadly, I might have to miss the end of tomorrow's game as it's my cousin's 21st Birthday.

---------------- Van der Sar ------------
Neville ---- Ferdinand ---- Vidic ---- Evra
Ronaldo --- Fletcher ------ Giggs --- Nani
----------------------- Rooney ---------
-------------- Berbatov ----------------

Subs: Foster, Brown, Rafael, O'Shea, Anderson, Park & Tévez

Expecting something like this for tomorrow. Brown could well be rested after playing the England game (and Neville's had a little time off and could come back). Park might be preferred for the game with Celtic in the Champions League, so him and Nani will probably play a bit of the West Brom game each (to rest Park a bit, but still give him some game time beforehand).

I'm really gutted for Tévez as he didn't play for Argentina through suspension, so he'll be raring to go, but Rooney is in too good form at the moment to be dropped. I'd expect Tévez to get a run out if the game is won before the hour mark though. That'll give Rooney a slight rest before we play Celtic as well.

Carrick and Hargreaves were expected to be back for West Brom, but it's looking unlikely now.

I'm arrogantly predicting a comfortable 4-0 victory. I see no reason why we shouldn't dominate West Brom tommorow, with Rooney in top-form and Ronaldo due an emaculate performence like he put on display so many times last season.

We are resilient etc. etc.

Even though I shouldnt say this because Havak constantly wants Liverpool to lose, good luck to Manchester United. I hope you guys have a good game and yet lose miserably to West Brom. Preferrably 6-0.

It's half-time now and I'm considerably bored. Something is missing from United... I just can't find out what it is.

eh you picked your game up in the second half. At the end of the day, it was a no-contest.

I wonder what has Alonso done to the Premier League players recently. that dude is having to face some rough tackles and not to mention, four matches in a row, he gets someone a red card due to a ferocious tackle on himself. :x

and did i ever tell you that i absolutely love (not a homosexual k) Dirk Kuyt?

It looks like I correctly predicted this time around; that almost never happens!

Nani, Berbatov, Ronaldo, hell, and even Rooney needed a goal. Perfectly spread around to lift a certain ammount of weight of their shoulders'.

I almost got my predictions perfect too. (I did pick Park over Nani on the United forum, but that was a toss-up). Rafael was the only player I didn't get right in the line-up, and Neville did play some of the game over him too (I thought the substitution would be the other way around, with Brown playing against Celtic).

I said we'd win 3-0, with Rooney, Ronaldo, and Berbatov scoring, but then Nani went and go a late fourth goal... Not like I'm complaining though. :) It was similar to the game Chelsea had against Middlesbrough, once we had our goal it was a miss-match, no offence to West Brom as they've done well so far, but they're not going to be challenging for the top half of the table so we should expect a win like that.

Hopefully we can take our run of recent good form into the Champions League and beat Celtic to maybe open up some space at the top.

If we successfully defeat Celtic mid-week, then Celtic are surely out of the competition, with both Villareal and us advancing into the top 16.

Celtic would obviously beat Manchester United with McGeady scoring 4 goals.
Predicting 4-1.

edit- I have a bad feeling about Atletico Madrid. Agger looks rusty and I don't think he will be able to mark Aguero well enough, so I predict a 1-1 draw. :(

Aguero and Maradona's seman have crossed paths, you know. According to a report I read some time ago, Aguero is engaged to Maradona's daughter; then there's the similarities between Maradonna and Aguero. You're in for a real game with Athletico and their little Maradona. ^_~

UEFA Champions League

Venue: Old Trafford (Capacity: 76,212)
Date: Tuesday 21st October, 2008
Kick Off: 19:45 GMT

Line-Up Prediction:

GK: Edwin van der Sar #1

RB: Wes Brown #6
CB: Rio Ferdinand #5
CB: Nemanja Vidić #15
LB: John O'Shea #22

RW: Park Ji-Sung #13
CM: Darren Fletcher #24
CM: Ryan Giggs #11 (c)
LW: Cristiano Ronaldo #7

FW: Dimitar Berbatov #9
FW: Wayne Rooney #10

----------------- Van der Sar ----------------
Brown ----- Ferdinand ----- Vidić ----- O'Shea
-------- Fletcher ----------- Giggs -----------
Park -------------- Rooney ----------- Ronaldo
------------------ Berbatov ------------------

Subs: Ben Foster #12, Gary Neville #2, Jonny Evans #23, Rafael Da Silva #21, Anderson #8, Carlos Tévez #32 & Nani #17.

The team that played against West Brom played well, and I don't see why Sir Alex should bother chopping and changing it before the game. The only likely switches are to see Anderson coming into the midfield as Giggs played a long time at the weekend, and Neville in instead of Brown/Rafael. Tévez and Nani could also be likely starters, but I prefer Park to start games at the moment, and the Berbatov + Rooney combo.

I'd like to see Ronaldo on the left first of all, to give us more going forward down the left. As Brown is better at going forward than O'Shea, so having Park on the right at first is fine.

There's also talk of Ronaldo being rested:

Sir Alex Ferguson will not rush Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to full match sharpness, so much so that he is considering whether to leave the Portuguese winger on the bench against Celtic on Tuesday.

The Reds boss paid tribute to Ronaldo’s personal characteristics and his athletic attributes, saying that he is capable of raising his game on demand. But his ability to recover from a Saturday game for a Tuesday Champions League tie are perhaps not yet at their usual superhuman levels – the after effects of a summer without training due to an ankle surgery.

“He’s coming along terrifically well,” said the United manager. “It’s almost there. With 20 minutes to go on Saturday when Gary Neville went on, I said to Gary, ‘ask Ronaldo how he is’. I thought he was showing signs of tiring.

“Gary asked him and Ronaldo said, ‘I think it’s time to come off’. Five minutes later he told Gary, ‘I’m feeling good now’. Maybe the fact that Gary told him he might be coming off lifted him a bit. You find that with the type of human being, the type of athlete he is. He will find something. When he needs it he finds it.

“One touch and he could score. He has got such a talent in the box. I think he’ll win the Ballon d’Or. If he doesn’t win it, I want to sign the guy who does.”

Ronaldo played in both Portugal matches during the recent round of World Cup qualifiers. It prompted a conversation between Sir Alex and his former assistant, now Portugal manager, Carlos Queiroz.

“I spoke to Carlos [Queiroz] and asked him what he thought [about Ronaldo’s match fitness]. He said he thought Cristiano was still finding it hard to recover from a Saturday game to play on a Wednesday. Carlos thought he was magnificent against Sweden on the Saturday, showing maturity, decision-making, everything… but on the Wednesday he was a little flat. That’s simply because he is still working on his recovery from games.

“Against Celtic, with it being Saturday to Tuesday, it would be perfect if we had an extra day. We’re just looking at the situation and whether we should bring in Nani for this one.

“We’ve got the option to bring Nani in because he only played 30 minutes for Portugal on Wednesday. When you get so many games in a row after spending time out injured, there is a response to playing all the time. The adrenalin makes you OK one game, but then your performance dips a little bit.”

Patrice Evra and Paul Scholes definately miss this, with it still being unlikely to see Carrick or Hargreaves back.

A fantastic victory against Celtic.

But it was a dissapointment for us against Everton, considering we were unable to take all three points home from Goodison Park. I pray to god that Liverpool are able to frustrate Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and force a draw; given the conventional 0-0 draws between the two in the past, this result is favourable. If Chelsea were to defeat Liverpool, then we would then sit far behind Chelsea on the table.

The First Round Proper will be drawn soon, so I wonder what Giant Killing's we'll see this year.

Kettering beat Burton today securing our place in the first round with an enthralling 3-0 victory. Hopefully we can last till the third round this year :P

Still we have got the most goals in the FA Cup ;)

Oh yes. Liverpool 1 - 0 Chelsea.

Hows that to end the blues unbeaten streak at Stamford Bridge? This just proves we are a force to be reckoned with in the title chase.

Also, omfg at Hull. Third with 20 points lol. 4 Points clear of fourth place. (I think)

err chelsea had the possession in places where they couldnt possibly trouble liverpool. Liverpool played better football and looked way more penetrating than Chelsea. Chelsea had ONE shot on target all game and Liverpool had 4. Liverpool had a shot hit on the post and were close to scoring several others. Can you say that about chelsea?

and err i still dont think we will be chasing the title but the longer we can stay top the better for us. Its been so long :)

lol 4 shots is nothing to be proud of -- especially when two of them were from free kicks -- shows the crap neutrals have had to endure over the last 4 years in your matches.

I'm willing to bet that by Feb 1st, you will not be top.

no shit sherlock

I never said we would stay at the top. Any real football watcher would know that Chelsea didn't play well at all and were bested by Liverpool in every department other than possession in useless places.

You talk as if Everton and Manchester United's game was a pleasure to the eyes. I almost fell asleep while watching it. How was the United match against Chelsea again? Oh right. 2 shots on target each. So much fun to watch!

I dont care about artistic football as long as we get the results.

edit- 4 shots on target. 10 shots in total. Liverpool looked penetrating and had enough chances to make it 2-0 or even 3-0. (Dirk Kuyt/Ryan Babel/Gerrard/Alonso chances). You can't tell me one minute where Chelsea looked to score a goal, now can you?

I hate Liverpool, but I'd rather have had them win than Chelsea (for once) as I'm more confident in Liverpool ballsing it up later on in the season than Chelsea.

I must say though, Chelsea have been impressive in pretty much every game this season, bar the games against Manchester United and Liverpool. Could it be that Chelsea aren't as strong as we think? As soon as they've been faced with the big sides, who provide real tests, they've struggled. A late goal against Manchester United to force a 1-1 draw, a relatively late winner against Roma in the Champions League when they weren't looking like scoring, and a loss to Liverpool in a game where they again didn't perform as well as we'd expect.

Also, I'm pretty disappointed that Man Utd didn't manage to finish the game in the first half against Everton, and it really cost us in the end. We'd been on good form, not conceeding for a while and averaging three goals a game. But fair pay to Everton, they showed everyone the form that makes them a top 8 worthy side.

Aren't both Hull and Chelsea scheduled to clash tonight? Taking into account an outstanding, yet totally unexpected beginning for Hull City and their 3-0 win at the weekend, matched-up with Chelsea's home-defeat to Liverpool, is Hull city capable of stealing all 3 points away from them?

If Hull somehow manage to pull this off and should United win their game in hand, Chelsea will have failed their opportunity to create a huge gap between us and them.

As for Liverpool, we will see how contestant they're for the title come January.

Arsenal and Spurs game was awesome.

PS- Taylor, I was online at 4:15 and you were not. Sorry I was a little late (and a bit lazy to get up) :[
