Are you joking? The Irish allocation last night was only 8000 in an 80000 seater stadium. More than 20000 Irish fans travelled to Paris last night, full well knowing that most of them wouldn't get in. But they were there supporting them. That's the sort of team that deserves to go to the World Cup.

If we see it from the point of view of the "soccer business", for the World Cup, full of neutral viewers around the world (a lot of which aren't even football fans), France is the more popular team. Players like Ribery and Henry move more millions than, say, Robbie Keane. End of the day all the "big" teams are usually favored.

Back to business as usual for Man Utd. Evra played brilliantly and Fletcher's goal was stunning.
(ManU 3 - 0 Everton)

On top of that, Manchester United is back on the second spot. To bad Chelsea won with 4-0 so the difference is still 5 points

You really think they're going to be more popular there now?

Thursday morning, the French FA were ready to submit an offer to a rematch to FIFA. They were cockblocked by the team coach, who is one of the most unpopular people in French sport.

Still wondering where Blatter is lol

A win for Spurs today will see us tied with Arsenal for 3rd on points. Hopefully Modric will be back from injury. Wigan are either really good or really bad...it'll be fun to see how this turns out :pimp:

looks like its the latter, Tottenham smashes Wigan, 5-1 atm (writing this @ 70 minutes, Defoe scored 3 goals up to now)

jesus even sam knows something of international football... you know that there was actually a match between a Lyon and Fiorentina, with the latter winning, that lead to that, right?
It's just weird to see someoene appearing so oblivious to eveything that's not english...

Nice solid win for Arsenal, still doesn't make up for weekend, but Liverpool going out has made my day, who would have thought them going out at the beginning.

I'm very disappointed at Inter, not because they lost (Barcelona is just better), but HOW they lost. Total lack of spirit.

They probably felt secure with Rubin Kazan's result, but still it's not how it's supposed to be.

at least there wont be a liverpoo v cheslea match this year lol

Hahaha.

Now that I think about it... Porto-Chelsea, Inter-Barça, Lyon-Fiorentina in the champions, and now, Barça-Real, Benfica-Sporting, Arsenal-Chelsea, Everton-Liverpool, Bremen-Wolfsburg, AEK-PAOK, Olympiakos-Pana, Inter-Fiorentina...
Jesus christ, what a week. I can't remember one likfe this in my intire life.

Real-Barca's going to be huge!

Also, our house is torn between Spurs and Villa...should be interesting.

And on December 1st (Monday), Spurs-United in the Carling Cup...should be great!

What a weekend :D

stanies 1 -1 milwall

and yet another rediculous penanly descision again today, for a "shirt pull" from vidic, even though he was holding the shirt and the portsmouth player was holding him, if thats a penalty then there would be 10-15 a game, obsurd not a foul, another poor descisoin for fergie to get banned for complaining about.
