It was lucky to be that close, Manchester United was clearly the better team in my view; Chelsea had no answer for Ronaldo at all (Cole et al were getting flat-out schooled)and they looked fucking slow and disorganized most of the game.

When Drogba got a red card, I was like "oh fuck that's the match right there" because it was obviously going to penalties

btw that field was a joke; I don't know how you can have the fucking Champions League with worse field conditions than Heinz Field in the rain after two american football games (obviously nobody will get that reference ;_;)

Chelsea needs to get younger imo; their frontline's average age is like 29, their midfield is sort of young with Mikel and Essien but I barely saw Mikel and Essien was getting torched too, Terry's like 27 but the rest are 30ish.

Not bad, but when you compare with Arsenal, whose core is 25 ish, and Manchester United, whose stars are all under 24, I'd say age is going to be a problem in the future.

Haha.

And I thought we were the most dominent in the cup this year, considering we did not lose more than one game. The most goals we conceeded in a single match were 2, from Dynamo Kiev...lol. Keeping a clean sheet at the Camp Nou and at Old Trafford against Barcelona pretty damn amazing itself. It was a great campaign and I expect us to go far next year with all the talent wanting to join Manchester United for next season, and rightfully should.

Ronaldo were all over them because Essien, who isn't a "right-back" nor can he play there well as an alternative, was given the job to play in a position he is not comfortable; with the Fifa "Play Of The Year" and arguably the best in the World at this moment in time, running at you, constantly putting you under pressure and passing you when nescessary for the opposing team. It was delightful to watch as a United fan, but my-oh-my did I feel sorry for Chelsea and their fans watching Essien being "schooled" throughout the night.

I can't begin to imagine how John Terry must've felt this morning waking up, remembering what happened last night. Wow...that has got to be one of the worst feelings ever, and it's hard thinking about it for heaven's sake.

to be fair it was more barcelona's inabilty to finish then anything united's defence did that kept you the clean sheet.

I have a feeling ronaldo will not be there next season, even though i think united will win the league again. Arsenal will bottle again, liverpool are just not good enough and i think chelsea are just about ready to crumble. Drogba will be gone and i would not be shocked if Lampard,Cech or Carvalho leave.

1st Man United
2nd Arsenal
3rd Chelsea
4th Liverpool

Yeah, I'd wish. But you know the truth: There's only one national team more expert at underachievement than England: Spain. Don't worry, we'll find a way to lose before semifinals.
Being 1/2 Spanish I'm gonna support them this year, since England... you know. I'm hoping Spain win, I've never experienced joy with a national team. Backing an Italy - Spain/Portugal final. Should be an interesting competition this year a lot of team who could potentialy win it.

Ronaldo will be there aslong as Fergie's in charge and if Quieroz takes over then I think he'd be more inclined to stay aswell.

I reckon next season it'd be

Man Utd.
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal

There has been a strong rumor around footballforums.net that Terry was cought spitting on Tevez's neck. Afterwards, Tevez retaliated (who wouldn't?) and was looking for answers. It is disgusting, especially from the Chelsea and England skipper, who was given alot of attention last night.

However, my take on this was: Spits like a man, cries like a baby. His punishment for that idiocy (involving the spit) was arguably that horric miss which could have given Chelsea the title. He payed the price.

That really doesn't surprise me with Terry, despite being the England captain I hate the guy. If you ever watch a Chelsea match on Sky Sports and use the function where you follow one player (can't remember what it's called) you'll see just how many sly assaults on players he gets away with. Now I realise that the majority of players do this, but Terry gets away with it A LOT, like his 'accidental' collision with Torres in the CL semi's, I honestly can't belive he's gotten away scot-free with that he plunged his knee, at speed, into Torres' ribs when he wan't in possesion.

Gerrard should have been England captain.

I think the spitting is completly out of order, Although I am glad like a hatchet man like Terry still exists, I think the game now is far to bound by rules to prevent injuries, and I miss the mentality of the players when I watch videos of old.

I like dirty gritty football, it's why I've become a fan of the non-league game now

Yes, Chelsea 23 Shots, but how many of them went it, it just shows that they were wildly firing potshots, and that Van Der Sar had a great game

TORRES SUCKS BALLS. Liverpool long balls tactics just make him run and he looks like a wild Dog running wild on the Pitch chasing after long balls. I Probably knew the reason Terry spit at because of that incidient which DD eventaully got sent off . Anyway its just a rumour unless there is real solid proof that Terry really at Spit Tevez on its NECK. Didnt Fabregas spit at Ballack right in the FACE Before?

F***king Gas Spitting at Ballack

No it doesn't, that's just for statistical purposes. In the end only goals (and in this case pks) matter...

It shows Chelsea doinated, obviously behind the so many shots came alot of possesion. What an ignorant and worthless argument lol.

All I have to say is arsenal really disappointed me this year, and that Ronaldo dude that all the chicks from my sixth period AP british lit class are agog over needs to die.

Go 2009 Arsenal.

"Knowing that we were unquestionably the better team in the second half and throughout extra-time, it is really very difficult to cope with the loss.

"We were unbelievably unlucky in the game."

Chill guy, just because your team lost it doesn't mean you have to go into a campaign of "we played better why we lost?" and bla, bla, bla, you're super biased about Chelsea, if they dominated why they didn't scored the winning goal?, oh sure lots of shots and bad luck right?, what a worthless argument :p.

Better than 'only goals' matter. That's exactly what teams say when they didn't play as good but managed to win ;). If Terry slipping is not bad luck I don't know what is.

In a previous message i have mentioned his bad luck and that i even felt sorry for him. Sure play a good match is an important part, but they lost they won't get a special trophy like "oh well you played better, you deserve this". Is not an appreciation sport either, there's a score.

Also the match was pretty even, is not like the dominance was overwhelming, pff first half was more on United's side, Tevez missed a chance when the game was 1-0 in favor of Man U, then Chelsea got a bit of luck on their goal, i mean the ball bounces in someone, Van Der Sar slides and you know the rest.Oh that isn't luck right?.

So well even if you were right on everything, Chelsea lost, get over it ;).Nothing good can come out of this, is not that i am in favor of Man U. is just i hate these arguments of "we played better, but the ref was against us, we had bad luck" they are rubbish.

I'm done, and i guess you to.

All that matters regardless of better play, is who is won. Yes your team may have been unlucky in some respects, but in other respects they were also lucky. It is Utd's Name on that trophy after all.

Anyways, you seem adamant on using the match statistics of Chelsea's shots

Let's look at the official Uefa statistics

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl/fixturesresults/round=15109/match=301604/report=st.html

Utd................... Chelsea
5....Shots on Goal.... 3
6.... Shots Wide...... 15
58%.. Possesion ......42%

Utd. had more shots on Goal, aswell as the majority of the possesion throughout the game. So arguement over. In the End Utd. won both the game and possesion

It shows Chelsea doinated, obviously behind the so many shots came alot of possesion. What an ignorant and worthless argument lol.

Man United had 65% possesion in the first half. Most of Chelsea's shot were by Ballack into Row Z from 30 yards.

Man United definitely had the better chances. Giggs cleared off the line, Tevez if he made contact would've scored, Tevez should've scored with a header.

The only time Chelsea came close was when Ballack shoved Ferdinand in the back and he almost scored an own goal and when Lampard hit the bar. Drogba hit the post but that was a speculative shot.

Also: Chelsea unlucky? Fuck no. Man Utd had more possession and more shots on target. Terry was lucky not to be sent off for spitting and calling Tevez a fucking cunt under the ref's nose. Chelsea should have gotten about 3/4 bookings for ridiculous dissent. Especially Joe Cole, Ballack and Terry running to the referee, surrounding him and screaming in his face. And there's the small mention of not one but two deflections for the ball to get to Lampard but then Van Der Tsar (heh) slipping too for him to score.

And not to mention the bloody luck they have had this season; fucking over Arsenal, stupid penalty against Man Utd but not one given against Ballack for bear hugging Ronaldo, Kalou scoring an offside goal against Newcastle, the amount of dissent they get away with.

Seriously, this is why everyone hates Chelsea. They break the rules every bloody time and get away with it. They've been charged by the FA for failing to control their players numerous times and only get fines for it. The only reason they are successful is because of their Russian sugardaddy and most of their fans are not even passionate about Chelsea, they even need plastic flags to encourage them to sing in a CL final.

Yesterday, Arsenal got a work permit for Vela, who is a striker. All I know is that he's quick and good on football manager. According to Sky Sports, Utd are receiving £8m for Pique which is good money but he has good potential so it's a good deal for everyone.
