UEFA should just get it over with, put Barcelona's name on the CL trophy and give it to them now, give everyone a rest for the World Cup.

The only question left is whether they have to destroy Lyon or Bayern in the final, Lyon should not be underestimated they are a very decent team.

I'm pretty sure, that Barca will lose to Inter :)

Our first lose in Old Trafford, but it's ok. I'm glad that we reached semis again since 2001 lol .-.

And to use his own words, sorry Alex

They're strong but not invencible lol

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Did anyone else catch Fergie muttering "Typical Germans" in the post-match interview? That was lol. Feel so sorry for him.

Really because I thought the referee was a bit unfair in not giving Bayern a free kick when Schweinsteiger (sp) went down near the 18 yard box. Also I noticed to begin with Utd were going down a bit too easily...
I think he didn't give that free kick because it was not long after he sent Rafael off. Another case of the referee bottling it. I think it was a yellow card for Ferdinand and a free kick. But that's the only instance where Bayern didn't get something when they should have.

I don't know how you can complain about Rafaels sending off. I think he could have recieved a red card when he hit van Bommel, while lying on the ground and also the other yellow card was ok. Maybe also Ribery could have got yellow in this situation.
I also wonder what "happened" to Nani, when he was at the corner lol

I did predict it right: Bayern would go on.

The referee was fair and the two yellow cards of Rafael were deserved.

Over 2 games, Bayern and ManUtd were equal: No better club. There was no club that clearly deserved to go on.

I was a neutal viewer: I am not a Manchester fan and I am not a Bayern-fan.

I disagree, Rafael shouldn't have been Red carded!
and ya they were equal but as Gibson rightly said, 'Rafael's red card killed us,' says Gibson.

and Bayern's players were a bit tooooo rough!

Maybe the red card killed you, but then blame Rafael. It was his fault that he got sent off, not luck or Bayern's fault.

I think it was a yellow card worthy offence and some immaturity on his part, after getting the better of Ribéry at every occasion. However, I think the referee was going to give Rafael the benefit of the doubt and a talking to, before Bayern hounded the ref and basically forced him to make the decision. This is what United fans are more bitter about, not the fact that both offences weren't card-worthy. Bayern also manipulated the decisions of the referee all game, watch it again, they were dropping like flies at every tackle and the vast majority were never fouls, not in a million years. To add insult to injury, van Bommel was given the benefit of the doubt after he was already booked, after shoving a United player to the floor. It was as blatant as Rafael's foul, so why was he not sent off?

It's just such a lack of inconsistency that seems to be happening for too consistently on most referee's behalf. The sooner we get a Video Official, the better. It's ridiculous.

I don't know how our players surrounded the ref, but he would have sent him off anyways. No ref does what a team tells him.
But you're right, that they dropped very much and this also pissed me, because you the ref never gave a freekick in this situation anyways, so it were just lost balls. A lot of the Bundesliga's referees give you a freekick in this situation, that's way the players do this shit.
I couldn't have complained if van Bommel would have ben sent off too and feared that this may happen after his first yellow card and maybe he got lucky.

But I don't think you lost to this things, especially if you consider, that Rafael couldn't have complained about a Red Card in minute 18...

I think the red card was justified. Rafael is one of the most unneccessarily rough players I've ever seen (and so is Fabio, for that matter)
If, you think that he is rough then there is something wrong!!
because, He is 18!! and the roughest player would is either Ribery or any random German player!

was rafael booked when he tripped ribery in the corner, or was that just a warning? i dont remember, but i definitely remember that being hilarious only to kind of fuck up uniteds chances of winning.

Liverpool beats Benfica 4-1 at Anfield, and goes trough to the semis.
The result is misleading though, the game was closer than it appears. Liverpool won with all justice, but Benfica falls on their feet.

Atletico draws Valencia 0-0 at home, going trough on away goals to face Liverpool. I do believe the winner of this game will win the Europa League.

Hmm El Nino returning to Madrid. That's going to be interesting. I'm not sure that the winner of Alethico-Liverpool will eventually be the winner, because the other semi-final(Hamburg-Fulham) is also a great game between 2 good playing teams. As I said before, the Europa League is just wonderful. Great football by players and clubs that are quite evenly matched against eachother. It's just great. Who ever might have the final win, will have deserved the win, because from this point I can't see a big favorite for the title

ugh, i really hope that it is not a fulham vs liverpool final, that would just be a like a bog standard premier league match. unfortunately, it's looking like it could very much turn out to be that way. either way, i think liverpool have the firepower to go on and win this tournament. athletico will be sturdy opposition, but liverpool should be able to beat them and either fulham/hamburg in the finals.

Yea who knows with Athletico sometimes they are amazing others they look like they should be relegated, i think Liverpool should get past them though.

I am gonna go with Hamburg v Liverpool the fact that the final is being played at Hamburg's stadium shouldn't be overlooked.

Fulham have done so well in Europe this term. I think Fabio Capello has to notice Zamora and take him to the World Cup now. He'll be of more use than Heskey or C.Cole IMO.

Hamburg will be just as tough as any opponent Fulham have had, as the final will be in their own back yard and I'm sure they want to be there more than any team. I can see the all English final happening, after the disappointment in the Champions League, but I think it could provide a somewhat stale game if both sides pay their usual League game and Liverpool will run out eventual winners.

I want Fulham to win this, though.

Liverpool, Hamburger SV, Atlético Madrid and Fulham left.

The best of the four is Liverpool, then HSV/Atlético (evenly matched) and the worst of the four is Fulham.

Final Hamburger SV - Liverpool 2-3

Fulham are currently a much, much better side than Liverpool.

But what shade said it's true. After a so thrill-filled Europa League, the last thing we want is a final between the 6th and the 12th of the Premier League. No offense to either team, they've earned their spot on the semis, but that final would be a slap in the face for the rest of europe.
