The Walking Dead Thread - Spoilers ITT

I was hoping to see undead Duane. Hopefully Morgan rides in as the Calvary during the imminent governor showdown.

Well, at least Rick told Morgan where they are, so a potential reunion is possible...

I'm more surprised how...well...passive aggressive they are around Merle though from the last episode, you'd think some of them would have taken some shots at him, but no.

Damn, I felt bad for Morgan :( I thought it was a good episode, cleared the air a bit. Also, I'm wondering why Carl didn't show Rick the portrait(maybe rick wouldve gone batshit again)

Can this group just get stronger already. Shiiiit

That said, the episode was one of the best. I really liked the symmetry that was painted between Rick and Morgan's experiences. They both had loss, and Morgan looks like what Rick's future could be if he doesn't get his shit together. Duane wasn't able to shoot his mom when his life depended on it. He couldn't become cold like Carl did and he paid for it. Just more commentary on how the apocalypse changes you and what happens if you try not to change (I think the hiker was there to emphasize that).

General reminder that you can join macle and I (and others) on #smogon at 9 when the episode starts. :)

too much of a prep episode, we already had one of these already since the return. I wish things would move faster

I'm probably the only one, but I don't mind these lead up episodes. They might not be action packed, but I still enjoy the plot and themes of the show. I mean I wanted Rick to shoot the governor as much as the next guy, but an all out war so suddenly would leave a bad taste in my mouth. Anyways, the talk about history, moving on, and how future generations would view the zombie apocalypse is all very interesting, and not really discussed in your standard zombie movie/show. That's why I watch the Walking Dead.

Can someone clarify it for me please? What did Rick mean by "help me change my mind" at the end of the episode? Does he want to turn 'chonne in? Or does he want to fight for her?

I took it as saying he was going to fight for her, but thought it wasn't the best idea. The questions he was asking (would you sacrifice your daughters) seemed like they were trying to get Hershel to say we should turn Michone over, and if that's what Rick wants to think (ie what he wants Hershel to convince him to think), then he must be leaning towards fighting for her. It is ambiguous either way though.

I read it as Rick wants to turn her in.. and that Hershel should convince him otherwise.

"Would you sacrifice Maggie for her?"

'member that?

------------

episode was dull, the only thing that happened was that Rick confidentially knows that the Governor is the dick we viewers knew all along.

That and the similarities between both parties [besides Rick and Gov] would probably get along really well if it wasn't for this battle of the leaders.

A bit late for my reply.

Not a very action packed episode but at least it was interesting. I found myself telling Rick "what in the world are you thinking"? I really hope the group is smart enough to not sacrifice anyone. The next episodes seem to be a buildup episode also, hopefully the finale will be worth it.

Holy shit, this was one of the best episodes ever. My heart was literally pounding during that scene where the Governor was chasing Andrea in that room.

The ending scene left me speechless

Was a fun episode. But I predicted like every single step throughout. Especially the end.

Still don't know how the governor didn't see her behind the barrel that her head was above.

idk it might be difficult with only one eye

also yeah it was a good episode, if slightly predictable
