Uh, I only know you from IRC and the fact that you mod a whole lot of stuff on smogon. I guess you're a fairly nice person, so here are my questions!
Anyway, what do you consider to be your greatest victory in VGC? What kind of a battle was it?
How do you get your parents to drive/fly you to distant VGCs? You say that you're parents are not that supportive, but I guess they don't bash you too much for playing, right?
Are you writing a Worlds warstory?
Are these ideal questions for a first time poster in a well?

I like new users, I just think that it's important that they don't dive right in assuming they know a lot about whatever it is they're talking about. It takes a lot of lurking to get used to Smogon culture.

I don't play many video games but I actually really liked Kingdom Hearts 385/2 days which doesn't seem to be a franchise favorite. I really liked Roxas though, and playing as the "bad guy" gives an interesting perspective of everything. I don't have a specific memory but I just enjoyed the whole thing a lot!!

I think it's true. When you see every women in advertisements and on TV looking stick skinny and tan it tends to be seen as "perfection". I do think it's some of the same things for guys but there is a bigger variety of portrayals of men on TV - whether it's the body builder guy on Jersey Shore or something or the nerds on The Big Bang Theory - whereas for girls it tends to be the "hot sidekick" or something. I'd be lying if I said I've never felt this pressure. You get it from everywhere really, friends, parents, media, who all think that unless you're a size 2 you're unhealthy. I try to avoid that kind of expectation, since it's impossible for everyone to fit the ~perfect female~ look, and stick skinny doesn't really look good for most people. I think it's better to just be whoever it is that you are, and surround yourself with people that accept that. Changing yourself to fit a mold isn't going to make anyone happy.
I prefer to work for something and earn it. It's much more rewarding in the long run.
I'm most looking forward to getting my driver's license this year :)

My greatest victory was using my Typhlosion team to beat a ton of people. It was a joke team that somehow managed to work, and it beat people like VGC 2011 world champ kamz.
We've only ever gone to Regionals so they've never been too far away, but my dad is much more supportive than my mom. She's never gone along to one, although she likes to hear how I'm doing. They like to make me happy so I guess they figure that if that's what it'll take then they'll do it.
I didn't go to Worlds.
They were good :)

I think my first memory of you was that you were the guy who was recruited to draw Pokemon for that tiering page on site. It was a cute Quagsire.

Also most of the pants from this site are very awesome.
I usually try to avoid politics. I think it's a very personal issue for the most part and trying to argue about it really accomplishes nothing. It's not like you're going to convince someone that they're wrong since it's really just a different opinion. Aside from voting for whatever candidate agrees with my views the most, I don't think I'd be very involved in politics at all. I don't really like to define myself by my political views since I really only have an opinion on a couple of aspects of politics (which I mostly don't think should even be involved in politics), so I'd say I define myself very little by them!
I don't work there! I was playing and learning since I'm a newbie at the sport. It was from 9:30 - 3:15 though, and playing outside in August made it a pretty long day. AS for funny stories, there were a ton of bratty little kids there who liked to cause trouble, and I texted some people some of the funny things they've said, so here are some choice quotes and stories!
One of the campers said to one the counselors "You and her look like sisters except you're the uglier one."
Another time I went to the nurse's office and there was a little boy practically negotiating for bandaids. "I want 4!!" "you can have 2 or none" "4" "2 or none" "ok 3" "how about none" "2!!!!" "are you sure??" "no i want 3" "okay we're done" "okay im sure i want 2!!!!" And then he got them and announced he was coming for 2 bandaids every day.
Also, we had this thing called "Camper of the Day" where if you were the best you got a cool shirt. My friend and I were both new and we showed super improvement one of the days so we both won, and then a little girl went up to us and was like "Congrats!!" and I said "Thanks!" and she said "I wasn't congratulating you!"
Another one of my friends told us the story of a girl from her school who's last name is spelled Shithead but it's pronounced Sheethid, but it always throws off substitute teachers who think it's a joke lol
And apparently 11 year olds know more about sex than I thought they did. Some song called "The Neighbors Know my Name" was playing on a girl's iPod and an 11 year old comes over and was like "This song is about him giving so many orgasms that all the girls shout his name and the neighbors know!!" and if it were me at that age I probably would've thought they had known that since he was a friendly guy or something??? It was weird.
I like the VGC Worlds one.
I guess it's to stop rapscallions from continuing to post even though we've already said it's a bad idea (or that we're going to do it).
Because you seem like a fun person to see for a weekend at a Pokemon tournament!

I'd love to go to a tropical island kind of place and swim with dolphins or something. They seem very cute. I've wanted to go to Hawaii for a while, so that would be an ideal location (too bad I couldn't go to Worlds :( ).
I think that the biggest problem is people bashing different tiers for whatever reason. It's discouraging to the people working on those tiers to see that people don't seem to care about their efforts. I'd probably make some kind of infraction that can carry on from IRC to the forum for that kind of behavior in official channels.
Our analyses are probably the best things on Smogon. We've got great writers for the most part, and they're thorough and helpful to users looking to learn more for team building.
I had to look up what games were on the N64 since I was pretty young but I do remember playing a couple. I'd probably say Pokemon Snap or Super Smash Bros.

Only for Pokemon movies. They're all so terribly bad. EXCEPT Pokemon Heroes I refuse to laugh at that movie it's so wonderful (but I probably will when Orange Islanders point out all the dumb parts of it). I usually don't watch them by myself though so in groups I always tend to laugh more at the movies. Also that Pikachu Hide & Seek thing was absolutely hysterical. That lawn mower was legitimately possessed. (Future Rotom???)

My biggest regret in life is probably not studying as hard as I could have for the spelling bee. Instead of going to the mall with a few people I don't even really like that much I could've been mastering all the words in that list that was given and not gotten out on cappelletti. And after that round it was ~off the book~ aka words that people should know and yet after knowing crazy words like perestroika or schadenfreude on the list, they couldn't spell heron or century. If I had just gotten cappelletti I would've been in the final round thing in Washington (though I probably wouldn't have been one of those kids on ABC that can spell words that are not from this planet) but I would've gotten lunch with all the other kids with the President and been on like ESPN 3 or something. It was just really frustrating to have come that far and then not taken it seriously enough to win the whole thing.
I like it, it's fun!

I really am undecided. I liked the media arts course I took and I've always liked the appeal of doing advertising and brand design, but there are also a lot of other things that could be out there. Most likely though I'd do something involved with business in some way.
I think that many inexperienced players will rip off Ray's and Wolfe's team, which means that experienced players need to have a solid team that can also handle both of those. I think we'll see a lot more interesting strategies employed since players who qualified for Worlds will probably give it their all at these regionals to get their nats invite without having to learn a different set of rules. It'll be a really weird regional since it'll mostly be the World's metagame with more experienced players trying to either counter that or learn from their mistakes at Worlds. I also think we'll see a lot more Rain counters since apparently that rose in usage a lot compared to nats.
