Oh wow. Victory at last. According to some quick calculations of mine, it took approximately 404 hours (16 days and 8 hours) for them to finish. That's not half bad! I guess this will enter history books as the premier example of The Infinite Monkey Theorem applied in practise. It will be mentioned in books on game history. In a few hours, the story will be up on the major news sites.

It was certainly an interesting journey! Well done, everybody!
 
You know, I'm not sure, it's not like things were random. Probably a majority of the monkeys knew their goal and were working towards it.

Man, I logged on to the stream this morning approximately four minutes after they had finished. That was annoying...

Trou hasn't had any new material in months. But this definitely belongs in Greatest Hits.

The new one starts in a little more than a day. Should we make a new thread to discuss it or keep this one?

Edit : I just realized that we're eventually going to have to fight a lvl. 81 Zapdos with Thunder. This is going to be a though ride...

I love the fact that both twitchplayspokemon and Pokemon are both trending on twitter.

I'm just really glad I was apart of this, it was amazing, and I can't for Gold or Silver!
 
I think we might be able to get all to way to gen V. We'll have to wait and see.

In any case, it'll be be an increasingly bigger challenge as the AI gets better and better.
 
What we really need is to fund a kickstarter to make a twitch plays pokemon robot that pushes 3DS buttons. This way, we can have twitch plays Pokemon XY

You can do everything in the game you need to beat the champion just with the ABX buttons and d-pad

Internet history...

That ranks right up there with some of the stuff that Anonymous has done in terms of recognition of the internet as a group. And considering most of the people probably are in the generation just starting/a few years in to their careers, it would be interesting as a project to see the affects that projects such as this have on society as a whole.
