Sound
(Insert Sound pun here)

There are many Pokemon already based off of sound, which is portrayed with Pokemon based off of instruments, or noise itself. This has already been popular for a very long time along with types like Light, but its odd to me how nobody is submitting it. Sound could be a far as a living bell, or just a Pokemon who sings. Now, although every Sound-based move makes sound, that doesn't mean they all need to be Sound type.

Possible Retyped Pokemon:

Whismur/Loudred/Exploud are based on sound waves and basically yelling in general.

Pyroar in gen 6 had it's then-signature move, Noble Roar, which was a Sound-based move.
tympole.gif

Tympole/Palpitoad/Seismitoad are based off of vibrations and also using sound waves that are imperceptible to the human ear to communicate.

Primarina is based off of an opera singer, as well as having the signature ability Liquid Voice.

Now, the thing is, all sound moves may have sound properties, but not all sound-based moves are sound type. moves like Bug Buzz, Grass Whistle, and Parting Shot may be sound-based, but for simplification, they wouldn't change types. Chatter only changes because Chatot is now Sound-Type, and Flying doesn't make much sense for it now.

Music can be used to benefit the brain, like listening to music while studying. the ground is a solid object that doesn't usually allow sound waves to pass through it. Light also beats sound as the fastest thing.

Blood

It's not an often-requested type. It's not especially obvious. It might be a little edgy. But whether it is the countless that drink it, the powerful vessels of a raging ape, or twin mice that grant it flow, many Pokémon have drawn strength from it since the first generation.
For the blood, it is the life.

Possible Retyped Pokémon (not exhaustive):

buzzwole.gif

Blood/Fighting
(or maybe Bug/Blood)
It's a mosquito, and its muscles are actually blood sacs.
plusle.gif
minun.gif

Electric/Blood
As noted by the Pokédex, their powers help blood circulate throughout the body. Also, Blood-type makes Plusle and Minun more interesting, and they in turn make the Blood-type less morally one-note.
mankey.gif
primeape.gif

Blood
(or maybe Blood/Fighting)
Primeape is noted to have strong blood vessels, and they are noticeable on its design.
gliscor.gif

(perhaps Gligar as well)
Ground/Blood
It's based on a vampire.
gorebyss.gif

Water/Blood
It has "gore" in the name, and it drinks blood.
beautifly.gif

Bug/Blood
It drinks blood and there's too many Bug/Flying, and Bug/Light makes no goddamn sense
zubat.gif
golbat.gif
crobat.gif

Blood/Flying
And I can't forget the original bloodsuckers in Pokémon, of course!
Possible Retyped Moves:

literally just Leech Life

Possible Type Effectiveness:
Lucky me, there's already a decent list of Blood weaknesses and resistances.
It's called "stuff about vampires".

Weak to:

Blood
Blood reacts violently with external blood of the wrong type, and countless works of fiction portray vampires as one of the few things able to kill other vampires.

Grass
Making a type about blood with some serious vampire flavors and not making it weak to Solar Beam would just be wrong. If Solar Beam is retyped, I'd make Blood weak to its new type. Also, vampires can be killed with a wooden stake to the heart. Besides, plants don't have any blood, and are perfectly fine drinking it.

Poison
Put poison in your blood. See where it gets you.

Water
Blood dissolves in water, and vampires can't cross running water. Then again, making another type weak to both Water and Grass...

Resists:

Water
Yeah I know I literally just explained why it could be weak to Water, but then again, "blood is thicker than water". I'm sure that's not what they meant by that phrase but whatever. Also, making another type weak to both Water and Grass is a little... dubious.

Time
Since this is basically a vampire type in terms of how it interacts with others anyway I might as well throw in the obvious part about vampires being immortal

Dark
Much like with Fairy, human schemes have their limits. Even with the less vampire-y ones, how do you plan on tricking your way past a Primeape?

Ice
For a matchup entirely unrelated to vampires, I might as well point out that freezing blood is a rare thing that doesn't actually damage it (though it will prooooooobably damage the organism it's in)

Heart
...Are you seriously trying to hurt blood using a heart? Who knows, this could even be an immunity!

Strong Against:

Heart
Hearts have a lot of blood in them (citation needed) and help blood flow (citation needed)

Dark
Since it resists it and all.

Resisted By:

Water
Insert here the reasons why Blood could be weak against Water, but remove the part worrying about redundancy

Grass
Plants don't have blood.

Rock
Rocks don't have blood.

Ice
Frozen blood cannot be drank (citation needed)

Mirror type
Unlike some other typings, Mirror type can't be defined as "cut-off for another typing" because it's more related to something abstract. It's a type about mirroring, copying and of course, the most important, reflecting. A lot of Pokemon would benefit from it, especially because it will probably be a good defensive typing (Real mirrors reflect heat and light, so Fire and Fairy resistances, etc). For example, Carbink would no longer compete with Regirock, Golem, Gigalith, Aggron, etc for the defensive Rock-type niche, with Mirror/Fairy typing it would be solid (no pun intended). Same thing with Avalugg or Cryogonal, who wouldn't be simply defensive Ice-types anymore. Mirror would serve as a typing that doesn't hit many things super-effectively, but isn't resisted by many things either. A neutral STAB, maybe similar to Normal.

Plus, if we add Light type (we probably will at one point), then Mirror type will be the opposite to it, and be immune to it.

Possible/Example Pokemon: Carbink, Diancie, Mega Sableye, Mega Steelix, Vanilluxe line, Alolan Sandslash line, Avalugg, Cryogonal, Grumpig line, Necrozma, Starmie line, Dialga, Palkia (have a reflective part in their bodies like polished ice or a jewel)
Wobbuffet line (closely related to Mirror Coat)
Mr. Mime (closely related to Reflect/Light Screen)
Chatot (closely related to Mirror Move)
Electrode (learns Light Screen+Mirror Coat by level-up, and "mirrors" Pokebals)
Mew, Ditto (closely related to Transform, mirroring/copying the opponent)
NOT Mirror Pokemon: Minior, Steelix, Lunatone, Solrock, Espeon, Xatu, Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Mega Ampharos
Example Moves: Mimic, Mirror Move, Mirror Shot, Mirror Coat, Transform, Copycat, Reflect, Light Screen, Barrier, Reflect Type

Magic

The type of the arcane, the mysterious, the wizard, whether enchanter, abjurer, sorcerer, necromancer, possibly even shamans and druids. Magic is beyond the natural realm and breaks the laws of science. It differs heavily from Psychic because it is not borne from the mind and doesn't include such brain powers and unlike fairy it doesn't consist of moon or cute shit unless an enchanter or transmuter wants it to look as such.

Some retypes:

Drowzee/Hypno - Magic: Cntroversial, perhaps, not that these guys see high level play. Sleep is more enchanter magic than it is psychic powers and hypnosis can be seen as such as well.

Abra Line: Psychic/Magic - Well it's in the name...

Arcanine: Fire/Magic - Arcanine is Arcane.

Milotic: Water/Magic - Helps differentiate itself from Gyarados for sure.

Castform: X/Magic It's called CAST and it's quite the weather magic type. X is based on Forecast

Misdreavus/Mismagius - Ghost/Magic It's a witch and put on its robe and wizard hat!

Johto Cat/dog legends - Quite mystical, give em a new typing to renew their gameplay value.

Delphox - Fire/Magic - Certainly better than Psychic and you'll see why with the chartage.

Mega Absol - Dark/Magic - Nifty with magic wings. Divination seems to be its way.

Ekans Line - Poison/Magic - There's something about slithery snake stun/hypnosis that is almost mystifying.

Blissey - Magic/Heart - Keeps it competitive over its eviolite underling.

Elgyem line- Magic/Space - Something less psychic more unnatural about this thing.

Floette Line - Magic/Light - Its not really a fairy, it has magic powers though.

Xukitree - Magic/Electric - ??? Yall made too many electric/light types, seriously!

Smeargle - Normal/Magic - The magic brush is like a wand.

Oranguru - Either Magic/Normal or Magic/Psychic. Whichever is stronger.

Passimian - Magic/Fight to counterpart the guru. There's also likely no other chance to get a Magic/Fight type so cherish the option!

Vespiqueen - Bug/Magic as the queen decrees the magic of being a mystic bug queen.

Pidove line - Flying/Magic If a fucking DOVE is unsuited to be heart or Light, then surely their association with peace can be seen as magical.

Alternate Shieldon Line form: Magic/Steel or Rock/Magic - It wears a prehistoric shaman mask. YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!!!

All the retypes aren't leaving too many options and I'm not looking to start this slate off in an uphill battle.

So I'll go to this type's strength: its type chart placement!

Defensive:
2x: Normal, Grass, Bug, Psychic

Magic is like Ghost where normies disbelieve. Unfortunately, wizards are squishy so tackles really hurt! So do swarming bugs that interrupt spellcasting. Grass, or nature, destroys the unnatural magic. Psychics can see past magic and mind fuck the nerds who use spellbooks and prevent casting. I'd make it weak to dark as Magic tends to take people down a dark road, but... well, balance is ruining my plans. Dark's OP in this meta. Same for psychic, but the matchup is too sensible that it pains me to inch this type towards being better than it was in Gen 1.

1/2x: Fire, Ice, Electric, Fairy, Water, Ground, Ghost, Light, Time

Mostly elemental resistances. Wizards tend to use the elements so they defend against spell backfire with spellshields.

0x: Rock???

Mostly to curb its offensive nature.

Attacking:
2x: Poison, Dragon, Electric, Ghost
Alternative title: I reamed Naganadel down a peg and it felt good. But seriously, magic includes priest magic, and thus some purge magic. Mages can pierce dragons and reduce their resistances. Electrics can be oversurged and ghosts don't like all that energy pouring through them.

RIP Naganadel and Gengar

.5x: Grass, Ice, Normal, Heart

Grass is nature and rebukes the unnatural wizard. Ice is so cold even magical arcane energies fail to stay strong. Normals like with the SE hit, tend to resist magic because magic is more physical than ghosts are thus can hurt them lightly. Heart is too hearty for bad juju.

0x: none.

This type further helps defensive ice types

Move Retypings:

Mostly non-attack moves: Magic Coat, Hypnosis and Barrier come to mind. Chgiarm is Enchanter magic, and Wish could be seen as Divination school? Possibly Safe Guard, Trick, Substitute and Protect.

The only attack I could see retyped is the tri-elemental delta strike known as Tri Attack. Hopefully it wouldn't cripple Porygon lines too much while maybe helping Magnezone and Hydreigon have slightly better coverage.

New moves:

Quick Cast - Like Quick Attack as a special Magic move, but hits twice for 20 damage. Oh hi Naganadel, why are you sobbing into your Focus Sash?

Battle Wizard - Buffs SpAtk and Defense 1 stage.

Spellfist - Punch move. Does 75 damage and can raise a random stat from the user 20% of the time. Physical magic.

Staff Strike - Strikes with a mage staff, doing strong damage with some accuracy issues.

Smite - User calls forth the wrath of magic and if uninterrupted, calls Focus Punch strengthed Special magic on their enemies.

Arcanopulse - Magic type Overheat.

Magic Missile - Special Icicle Spear, but it never misses. Granted can hit 2 to 5 times, but never misses.

Mana Drain - Deals damage and steals life as a Giga Drain would. If the enemy drained has the same moves as the user, it will also steal PP equal to 20% of its base PP from those moves (so 1 PP for Fireblast or 8 from Tackle) and replenish its own moves. Doesn't effect the enemy's Mana Drain.

Z Move Name - Forbidden Magic

Time to score another typing win.

Monster Typing
(give the sprite a Magenta vibe to it)
If there is a dragon typing, how is there not a Monster one? Now before you freak, there are lots of Pokemon whose typing looks seemingly slapped on just because, and thanks to the Monster egg group, we have a fair description of what's what

In terms of general body shape, most appear to be bipedal, although quadrupedal forms are common as well. Many also possess a large tail which may aid in balance and some possess claws on their limbs. Most of them are also partially reptilian, superficially resembling dinosaurs. Mammalian forms are also present.
Tyranitar - Rock/Monster (It's based on Godzilla for Pete's sake)
Lapras - Water/Monster (Loch Ness Monster)
Grovyle, Sceptile and Mega Sceptile - Grass/Monster (in Monster egg group and keeps pattern with other starters that gain a typing)
Exploud - Normal/Monster (Monstrous proportions, monster egg group)
Huntail - Water/Monster (Based on sea serpents and other sea monsters, as well as deep sea fish)
Guzzlord - Dark/Monster (There is no draconian features present, and it looks like a eating monster)
Nidoking/queen - Poison/Monster (Literally nothing about them says Ground)
Mega Garchomp - Dragon/Monster
Mega Steelix - Steel/Monster
Feraligatr - Water/Monster
Emboar - Fire/Monster
Kangaskhan - Heart/Monster
Munchlax line - Normal/Monster
Lickitung - Monster
Aron line - Steel/Monster
Cranidos line - Rock/Monster (Primal Time/Monster)
Pinsir - Bug/Monster (Looks like a fucking nightmare if you ask me)
Grimer line - Poison/Monster (The Blob reference, also to make sure Muk stands out from the myriad of pure poison types)
Eeliktrik/Eelektross - Electric/Monster (Sea monster)
Druddigon - Dragon/Monster
Bergmite line - Ice/Monster
Offensive
x2 - Psychic, Space, Steel, Fairy
x1/2 Fighting [Please swap out for Noble/Hero if either wins], Normal, Ground, Fire
x0 nil

Defensive
x2 - Fighting (See above), Fire, Light
x1/2 Dark, Psychic, Ghost, Bug, Normal
x0 nil

Psychic weaknesses deal with fear, and Monsters are the embodiment of fear. If you have ever watched Monsters v Aliens and Godzilla vs Space Godzilla, you know why this match up exists (also Space is a behemoth defensively), Kaiju are known far and wide as destroyers of cities, or jungles of steel and concrete. Small magical creatures such as fairies are no match for primordial monstrosities like Godzilla! Defensive wise as I said Fighting is literally a place holder type til Noble/Hero gets in, and if it wins, you gotta change it. Monsters are creatures of darkness, and they fear light and fire, the latter a common weakness of a myriad of classical monsters like Frankenstein's monster. Ground because monsters originate from Earth and can't/won't destroy it (also needs the resists). Its own resistances stem from the human mind not being able to perceive monsters, monsters being an embodiment if human fear means they shouldn't be affected adversely by it. Monsters inhabit the paranormal, something which vis the opposite of Normal

The monster typing is based upon Kaiju, traditional legendary monsters and monstrous things in general. Many Pokemon are based on Kaiju, so Monster as a typing has precedence. Pokémon that have monstrous qualities, based on cryptids and paranormal things that don't conform to typings like Blood (vampires), Ghost (ghosts and Spectres), Dark (Hellhounds, mostly malicious stuff) can fall in this category as well.

Did some adjustments to the original sub, made it more relevant and up to date, and also made some more suggestions that fit the vibe.

I didn't realize Manectric was a wolf, though the mane strikes me as lion. But Milk Drink isn't a signature move anymore, since Skiddo/Gogoat can learn it. And kittens drink milk before they're weaned.

Irl, invasive carps can cause harms to an ecosystem, decreasing the ammount of vegetation and increases ammonium concentrates.

Dragon.png

As seen in it's Ultra Space, it invades cities, eating everything it can.

Possible Type Effectiveness:

Strong Vs.

Heart
Viruses fuck up your health

Normal
I'd see Normal as creatures who are used to the envyroment. They'd be affected by an invasive species

Ground, Water
Invasive species mess up envyroment. This is the closest we have to that.

Space
Space is easy to invade now that I think about it.

NvE Vs.

Dragon
Try to invade a Dragon's lair. You'll get yo ass beaten

Psychic
One cannot invade a well-trained mind

Fire
Don't invade a burning thing.

Weak To

Psychic
The best way to kill off an invasive species is to capture and eliminate that species from that area, or relocate the species. So, strategy kind of makes sense

Ghost
Cause they are spirits who could not possibly suffer from envyromental changes created by the invasive species

Poison
Pesticides and stuff (as suggested)

Resists

Water, Ground
All can be taken as envyroments, which invasive species adapt to easly

Normal, Bug
Regular creatures are usually harmed by the invasive ones

I'll think of retyped moves later. Open to suggestions about anything

Life

A type based around birth, fertility, vitality and the will to live. It exists as an opposite type to the Ghost type, which deals with death, spirits, and things with no physical form. It is not based around healing and empathy.

Possible Retypes:

mew.gif
Untitled.png

Mew is the progenitor of all life apparently, and resembles a fetus, making its lore perfect for the Life type.

mewtwo.gif
Psychic.png
Untitled.png

Mewtwo's lore has nothing to do with Life except that it's a clone of Mew. Mewtwo X can still be Psychic/Fighting.

hooh.gif
Fire.png
Untitled.png
or
Flying.png
Untitled.png

moltres.gif
Fire.png
Untitled.png

Ho-Oh is a pheonix and brings pokemon back to life. Moltres is also a pheonix. What can I say there are two pheonixes and fire is often associated with this kind of symbolism.

charmander.gif
charmeleon.gif
charizard.gif
Fire.png
Untitled.png

Flames are a common metaphor for the powerful yet fragile nature of life, and the Charmander line makes this very explicit by having their life force tied to a flame on their tail.

meganium.gif
Grass.png
Untitled.png

Flowers are common symbols of fertility and are explicitly involved in reproduction, so they make a good fit for Life type. Not much type variety here, though. I know Meganium was already retyped but I think this makes more sense than Heart.

sunkern.gif
sunflora.gif
1538078685838.png
Untitled.png
or
Grass.png
Untitled.png

Sunkern is a seed and Sunflora a flower, so I feel like it works here.

cherrim.gif
1538078688769.png
Untitled.png
or
Grass.png
Untitled.png

Based on Cherry Blossoms, another symbol for mortality, Cherrim is a shoe-in. Cherubi should be a Food type, tbh.

kangaskhan.gif
Untitled.png
vmwF0aV.png

I swear it isn't just Heart 2.0. Life/Heart is a fine type for a pokemon based being maternal, at any rate.

baltoy.gif
claydol.gif
LWXAd5z.png
Untitled.png
or
Ground.png
Untitled.png

Life is a fine replacement for Psychic on pokemon that are manmade objects brought to life, such as the Baltoy line.

golett.gif
golurk.gif
Ground.png
Untitled.png
or
Ghost.png
Untitled.png
or
LWXAd5z.png
Untitled.png

I think Golurk has a Ghost type to represent the spirit trapped inside. If you remove the seal over the crack on its chest, it goes on a destructive rampage. Ground/Life probably makes more sense but Ghost/Life is cooler.

sigilyph.gif
Flying.png
Untitled.png
or
LWXAd5z.png
Untitled.png

Another pokemon brought to life by ancient humans.

azelf.gif
Psychic.png
Untitled.png

Azelf's connection to willpower and valor makes it a decent fit for the "vitality" angle of the Life type.

mankey.gif
primeape.gif
Untitled.png
Fighting.png

Another "vitality" based Life type. Pure Life could work but Life/Fighting is more fun.

buneary.gif
lopunny.gif
Normal.png
Untitled.png

Come on we all know the common associations about rabbits.

flabebe.gif
floette.gif
florges.gif
Fairy.png
Untitled.png

Life for its ability to keep alive the flowers that it rides/adorns itself with. Possibly a stretch.

Possible Matchups:
Super Effective Against:

Life, Ghost, Dragon, Fairy, Heart
Resisted By:
Fighting, Steel, Time
Weak To:

Life, Fighting, Time, Steel
Resists:
Heart, Ground, Water

Reasoning:
Life is Super Effective vs. itself due to the fact that living things eat other living things to survive. Life is weak to Time and Time is immune to life in order to represent the inescapability of mortality. Ghost might have been an option but I chose a different route with Ghost.

Life is Super Effective against supernatural creatures: Ghost, Dragon, Fairy. The reason for this is that supernatural creatures often come from stories where they serve as metaphors for obstacles that we face in life. In those stories the creature is often overcome by a normal human and some life lesson is learned. It doesn't resist them because none of these things are easy to deal with.

Fighting and Steel resist Life, and Life is weak to them. This is because martial arts and technology can protect life (remember Life is weak to itself) or destroy it. Heart is weak to Life and Life resists Heart because life doesn't care about your feelings. Life resists Ground and Water because these represent things that provide sustenance for life.

Anyway this a just an example of what a type chart might look like for it.

CHANGE

Hexcode: #4B0082

Change doesn't just mean evolution - that's a bit too broad, even by my standards. No, Change as a type is meant for Pokémon that are defined by change in a manner beyond the simple process of levelling and evolving. Let's try it! =]

OFFENSIVE MATCHUPS!
2x vs.:-
Psychic (The constant mutability makes it hard for the mind to form an effective defence)
Steel (Metal is a solid and immutable mass; its inability to react to change is its downfall)
Space (The infinite void is merely an infinite opportunity for change)
Change (Change welcomes itself, and superimposes)
0.5x vs.:-
Fire (Fires burn out, but they burn hot, and the changer is weakest when changing)
Ground (The whipping of a sandstorm erodes change before it can be enacted)
Heart (Though it might be monstrous, unknowable, ever-changing, the constancy of the loving heart is eternal)

DEFENSIVE MATCHUPS!
0.5x vs.:-
Normal (Come on.)
Fighting (Your solution to something ever-changing is to punch it?)
Psychic (Perceiving the ever-changing is a difficult task.)
Rock (A stone is a stone is a stone. It can be dealt with)
Steel (So predictable.)
2x vs.:-
Water (Be as water, and embrace change.)
Flying (Be as the wind, and embrace change.)
Time (Be as swiftness, and embrace change.)
Change (Be as all things. Embrace change.)
0x vs.:-
Grass (ffs, your solution is trees?)

RETYPED MONS!
Pokémon listed in order of the line or group's first appearance in the national 'dex.

Poison

Electric

Fire

Psychic

Dark

Grass

Ice

Fairy
--> Fairy/Change

When you think about Pokémon that change, your mind automatically goes to the Eeveelutions. I elected to keep Eevee as Normal-type to retain its "normal-type with limitless potential" design ethos; adding Change to the evolutions themselves felt more in keeping with the spirit of the type.

Porygon Line
porygon.gif
porygon2.gif
porygonz.gif

Normal
--> Normal/Change
Normal
--> Normal/Change
Normal
--> Space/Change

Porygon's digital nature and "Conversion" signature move make it a good candidate for a Change typing. Also, Porygon-Z went weird after being sent into space to look at a meteorite, so a Space/Change typing kinda works there too. =]

Octillery
octillery.gif

Water
--> Water/Change

Fish GOTO octopus. Sense is made. But yeah, it's such a drastic shift that I think a Change typing makes sense here.

Castform and Formes
castform.gif
castform-sunny.gif
castform-rainy.gif
castform-snowy.gif

Normal
--> Normal/Change
Fire
--> Fire/Change
Water
--> Water/Change
Ice
--> Ice/Change

Castform's Forme changes dependent on the weather are some of the most archetypal Change themed Pokémon formes in Gen 3. It's kind of necessary to have them here, even though Castform is hot garbage.

Kecleon
kecleon.gif

Normal
--> Change

Again, come on, lads.

Deerling Line
deerling.gif
sawsbuck.gif

Normal/Grass
--> Change/Grass

This Pokémon line's whole gimmick is changing with the seasons.

Lycanroc-Midnight
lycanroc-midnight.gif

Rock/Dark
--> Rock/Change

Lycanroc's Midnight forme is based heavily on werewolves, and the addition of a "hange" type fits rather more eloquently than the plain "evil" type.

Noble type
Noble-type includes Pokemon who have elements of justice, courage, righteousness, and honor in their actions, intent, and presence. While these concepts are typically associated with the Fighting-type, there are others that exude nobility as well. Noble-type Pokemon fight honorably, even against the unjust or evil, with high self-discipline and with the intent to aid. They may also attempt rescuing other Pokemon or people. This is separate from Fighting-types that just like to fight as well as violence-oriented Pokemon, who Noble-types will bravely fight against when the time comes.

hariyama.gif

Fighting.png

Sumo wrestling is very ritualistic and ceremonial, they're not fighting just to fight but to compare strength. Hariyama's US entry - "Although they enjoy comparing their strength, they're also kind. They value etiquette, praising opponents they battle."

Some of its dex entires - "It senses coming disasters and appears before people only to warn them of impending danger." "Although it's said to bring disaster, in actuality, this Pokémon possesses a calm disposition and warns people of any crises that loom." "The only thing unlucky about Absol is its appearance. It protects fields and warns people of disaster, so one ought to be grateful for it." Its Mega - "Normally, it dislikes fighting, so it really hates changing to this form for battles."

growlithe.gif
arcanine.gif

Fire.png
1e055b6b-c146-11e8-a53c-657cd19a524c.gif

Growlithe is known for its loyalty and willingness to protect its Trainer. Also, "It has a brave and trustworthy nature. It fearlessly stands up to bigger and stronger foes."

pyroar.gif

Fire.png
1e055b6b-c146-11e8-a53c-657cd19a524c.gif

Some of its dex entries - "The males are usually lazy, but when attacked by a strong foe, a male will protect its friends with no regard for its own safety." "With fiery breath of more than 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, they viciously threaten any challenger. The females protect the pride’s cubs."

braviary.gif

1e055b6b-c146-11e8-a53c-657cd19a524c.gif
Flying.png

All of its dex entries talk about its bravery and its willingness to battle to protect its friends even when injured. Sun entry - "With its brave disposition, it fears nothing—not even death. Ancient Alolan people respected it, referring to it as "the hero of the sky."

samurott.gif

Water.png
1e055b6b-c146-11e8-a53c-657cd19a524c.gif

Weaker link, but it's based on samurai and gets Sacred Sword without being a possessed sword, Ultra Beast, or Sword of Justice.

Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff are based around singing, with Jigglypuff notable in the anime using Sing.

Chatot being based on a parrot are known for repetition of human speech, and its signature move is Chatter.

Kricketot and Kricketune are based off of crickets, who make noise on summer nights (really loud too) as well as violins and guitars
pyroar.gif

Pyroar in gen 6 had it's then-signature move, Noble Roar, which was a Sound-based move.
tympole.gif
palpitoad.gif
seismitoad.gif

Water.png
8q4jGXb.png

Tympole/Palpitoad/Seismitoad are based off of vibrations and also using sound waves that are imperceptible to the human ear to communicate.

Primarina is based off of an opera singer, as well as having the signature ability Liquid Voice.
audino.gif

Now, the thing is, all sound moves may have sound properties, but not all sound-based moves are sound type. moves like Bug Buzz, Grass Whistle, and Parting Shot may be sound-based, but for simplification, they wouldn't change types. Chatter only changes because Chatot is now Sound-Type, and Flying doesn't make much sense for it now.

It's called "stuff about vampires".

Possible Type Effectiveness:

Strong Vs.

Heart
Viruses fuck up your health

Normal
I'd see Normal as creatures who are used to the envyroment. They'd be affected by an invasive species

Ground, Water
Invasive species mess up envyroment. This is the closest we have to that.

Space
Space is easy to invade now that I think about it.

NvE Vs.

Dragon
Try to invade a Dragon's lair. You'll get yo ass beaten

Psychic
One cannot invade a well-trained mind

Fire
Don't invade a burning thing.

Weak To

Psychic
The best way to kill off an invasive species is to capture and eliminate that species from that area, or relocate the species. So, strategy kind of makes sense

Ghost
Cause they are spirits who could not possibly suffer from envyromental changes created by the invasive species

Poison
Pesticides and stuff (as suggested)

Resists

Water, Ground
All can be taken as envyroments, which invasive species adapt to easly

Normal, Bug
Regular creatures are usually harmed by the invasive ones

I'll think of retyped moves later. Open to suggestions about anything
Life

A type based around birth, fertility, vitality and the will to live. It exists as an opposite type to the Ghost type, which deals with death, spirits, and things with no physical form. It is not based around healing and empathy.

More ordered than Chaos, less specific than Cat (really, dude?), it's

Poison
--> Poison/Change

Change is not always a positive force, and what better example of this is the way that humanity has changed the world through inordinate volumes of pollution?

I mean, come on, lads.

Electric

Psychic

Dark

Grass

Ice

Fairy

When you think about Pokémon that change, your mind automatically goes to the Eeveelutions. I elected to keep Eevee as Normal-type to retain its "normal-type with limitless potential" design ethos; adding Change to the evolutions themselves felt more in keeping with the spirit of the type.

Porygon Line

Normal

Normal

Normal
--> Space/Change

Porygon's digital nature and "Conversion" signature move make it a good candidate for a Change typing. Also, Porygon-Z went weird after being sent into space to look at a meteorite, so a Space/Change typing kinda works there too. =]

Octillery

Water
--> Water/Change

Fish GOTO octopus. Sense is made. But yeah, it's such a drastic shift that I think a Change typing makes sense here.

Castform and Formes

Normal

Fire

Water

Ice

Castform's Forme changes dependent on the weather are some of the most archetypal Change themed Pokémon formes in Gen 3. It's kind of necessary to have them here, even though Castform is hot garbage.

Again, come on, lads.

Deerling Line

Normal/Grass

This Pokémon line's whole gimmick is changing with the seasons.

Lycanroc-Midnight

Rock/Dark
--> Rock/Change

Fire.png

Explanations/Justifications:
2x against
  • dark.gif
: justice wins out over darkness and evil in the end
  • fire.gif
: fire is commonly portrayed as an element of destruction and suffering (hell), which justice seeks to remove
  • dragon.gif
: think of stories of noble knights who take down dragons that terrorize the people
  • psychic.gif
: psychic can often be associated with manipulative types as well, justice fights against those who manipulate others
1/2 against
  • normal.gif
: nobles don't fight common folk, they protect them
  • grass.gif
: harming plants can be seen as harming the land, something nobles would avoid doing
  • poison.gif
: disease or poison are often what take down nobles and in the end
  • ghost.gif
: in many stories of nobles, spirits of the dead can weaken nobles, whether through nightmares or even possession
  • Ww6Ih7B.png
: it is not noble to harm those who spread kindness
  • noble-png.127538
: it is not noble to harm other nobles either

God do you guys write a lot

This is seriously an extremely hard choice considering the obvious Light-type has been chosen. That being said, my vote will have to go to...
Food
It was a hard choice between Sound and Food, but I believe Food has a lot more potential and creative freedom than Sound.

by potential i mean the move names are gonna be hilarious to make
