Appearance/Flavor: Meganium were introduced to the Ultra Plant, where they constantly got struck by lightning due to their antennae behaving like lightning rods. The plants radiated large amounts of strange energy, which caused the Meganiums’ constantly wet feet to bond with the water and vaporize, turning their feet into small clouds. The water they absorbed into their bodies formed a cloud which replaced the flower around their neck which had wilted due to the environmental conditions. The Meganium gradually developed their ability to create their own storm clouds using the clouds on their bodies. Meganium-UV have blue bodies with dark gray clouds on their feet and around their necks, with bright yellow antennae and eyes.
Competitive: Drizzle allows it to use perfectly accurate Thunders and STAB Hurricanes along with boosted STAB Hydro Pumps, which do huge damage off Meganium-UV’s high special attack. If not running Drizzle, Lightningrod turns its 4x weakness into a way of boosting its special attack stat even higher as well as blocking Thunder Waves and Volt Switches. It also has other supportive options like Roost, Defog, and Tailwind. However, Meganium-UV tends to be somewhat predictable it doesn’t have a great speed stat, so it could be outsped relatively easily. It also has a Rock weakness, so it doesn’t like switching in to Stealth Rock, and many Pokemon that it should beat (like Fighting- and Ground- types) often carry Rock-type coverage.

Appearance/Flavor: Typhlosion were introduced to the Ultra Forest where they were confronted by the Kartana and their masters. Fearful that the Fire-type intruder would burn the forest, they hunted down the Typhlosion and removed them from the forest. The Typhlosion learned to avoid using their fire, which revealed their presence. Instead, they attempted hiding, trying to blend in with the trees and rocks. They also developed high speed to run away when found, bending the plants and tossing stones to escape. Now, Typhlosion-UV hide among the rocks, with their dark green fur that has the texture of soft leaves.
Competitive: Typhlosion-UV has high physical bulk and speed, allowing it to set up Stealth Rock with ease. It has recovery in Strength Sap or Synthesis for longevity, and Calm Mind can allow it to set up. Chlorophyll makes it extremely fast in the sun, while Solid Rock helps it survive super effective hits better. Its special bulk is quite low without Calm Mind boosts or Sand, so it has difficulty switching in to strong special attackers. Its offensive stats also make it rather passive without setting up.

Removed Moves: Aqua Jet, Avalanche, Blizzard, Dive, Hail, Hydro Pump, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Rain Dance, Scald, Surf, Waterfall, Water Gun, Water Pledge, Water Pulse, Water Sport, Whirlpool
Appearance/Flavor: Feraligatr were introduced into the Ultra Desert, where they could find no water. They developed their bodies to swim through the loose sand instead, and the shining gems dispersed throughout their new home exerted an unusual energy on them that changed their brains. The Feraligatr became able to control sand with their newfound mind power, with which they can summon sand storms at will. Feraligatr-UV are sand colored with glowing blue eyes, spikes, and armor pads.
Competitive: Feraligatr-UV is a powerful and fast physical attacker with decent special bulk. It can boost with Dragon Dance and Swords Dance, allowing it to put heavy pressure on the opposing team. Its abilities each have their uses, with Sand Stream setting up Sand and Sand Rush allowing it to outspeed most other Pokemon in the Sand. Ground/Psychic/Ice provides amazing neutral coverage, and Feraligatr-UV’s high attack stat means it can threaten most opponents. It also has other offensive options in Stone Edge, Superpower, Outrage, and Crunch, and supportive options in Stealth Rock, Shore Up, and Spikes. However, Feraligatr-UV’s physical bulk is rather low, and its typing gives it 6 weaknesses, leaving it vulnerable against priority attacks like Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, and Ice Shard. While it can threaten most opposing Pokemon, any strong physical attacker can force it out as well.
