Mamo
swine

Big Mamo is a nightmare to face, having very few safe switch-ins, and terrorizing teams with its excellent Ice/Ground STAB combination and Knock Off. It also provides great speed control for its team with the powerful priority Ice Shard, capable of OHKOing quad weak targets like Zygarde-10% and Salamence and heavily denting even neutral targets. Mamoswine is of course not without its issues, though - it's fairly slow on its own, meaning it is pressured by many offensive Pokemon. It also doesn't have the best defensive typing, which can make it difficult to switch in. Finally, Mamoswine often gets worn down through chip damage from a variety of sources, including its own Life Orb (if it chooses to run it), but also entry hazard damage and assorted stray hits. These all compromise its longevity and make it less effective in longer games. Your challenge this week is to help Mamoswine overcome these issues with the support of a great team!

Teambuilding Restrictions:
  • The team should be built in the Sword and Shield UnderUsed format.
  • The team must include Mamoswine.
Submission Deadline: Sunday, March 6, 2022 @ 11:59 PM EST (GMT-5).

a very offensive team using mamo to break through grasses that thundy-t and zarude struggle against. Gives the team a breaker and abuses volt turn very well. Pert is the rocker here as the team needs an actual ground type who can switch in on pokemon unlike mamo whose health is valuable to fire of powerful moves and to get extra turns out of its life orb. Salazzle helps with many steels that mamo otherwise struggles in such as steela, skarm, and can overwhelm many bulky water such as seismitoad, rotom-w, swampert, slowking, and jirachi by being able to poison them, knock off their item of and weaken them into range of mamo. Steela rounds of this team as a mixed wall that can take attacks for the team and deal with many pokemon that the team would otherwise struggle to like steels which mamo struggles to switch into. Zarude helps by dealing with waters that mamo struggles while thundy-t helps it by hepling against skarm, steela, and slowking whose powerful tbolt sure disposes of them

ive shown this team a bit before but whatever. tbh, this was, on paper, supposed to be about a team that let intelion shine, with spikes and sr support, but in practice mamoswine is definitely the threat on this team, as this pokemon is insane rn. i really hate rocks on it, but it made sense over knock off, as i couldnt fit rocks on anything else without making some drastic changes. this crazy hydreigon set is something that was discussed in the uu cord as well, that basically trades with chansey, allowing intelion to fuck shit up freely. in matchups without chansey its basically a dark pulse bot though, but its taunt can be useful.

anyways the team is fast enough with stuff like a mon that has base 120 speed, priority twave on klefki (a mon that walls zarude nicely, which would otherwise feast on this team), and priority ice shard on mamo. a cool offensive team that tries to keep up pressure with strong threats, while also controlling the hazard game with dhelmise doubling up as a spinner and spin blocker

To
gekiss

Togekiss has been a bit of a forgotten Pokemon lately, with all of the Steel-types and special walls in UU to check it. This may be a mistake, however! Recently udongirl has shown that Choice Specs Togekiss is a force to be reckoned with, and Serene Grace flinches remain as frustrating as ever. Togekiss also has a wide movepool that allows it to support its team in a variety of ways, including paralysis support via Thunder Wave, Defog to remove hazards, and Heal Bell to clear status. Finally, many teams are often unable to switch into Flying STAB easily, allowing Nasty Plot Togekiss to pose a sizeable offensive threat under the right circumstances. This week, let's support the Jubilee Pokemon with some great teammates so that it can keep on flying high!

Teambuilding Restrictions:
  • The team should be built in the Sword and Shield UnderUsed format.
  • The team must include Togekiss.

Team Options:
Hydreigon: Sub-->Roost-->Flash Cannon
Description: Krookodile is an excellent lead for the team with its ability to taunt opposing hazards setters and its Knock Off Utility. The team is Primarily built around Aegislash and Hydreigon. Togekiss can easily come in and set up on the likes of chansey and bulu; Thus allowing you to double into darmanitan or keldeo to predict a potential switch into celesteela, rachi, or nihilegio. Additionally It is also a perfect partner for aegislash as it can easily come in on its popular checks like zarude. However, In most situations, Aegislash will function as a lategame cleaner for the team, while hydreigon can break and eliminate threats and force a switch to primarina or bulu which provides you a free switch into togekiss and gain momentum with darmanitan acting as your pivot and early game breaker due to its capability of eliminating the primary threats of the team.

Specs Togekiss BO

・Main concept is specs togekiss wallbreaking. Others are for specs togekiss support and cleaning weakened team.
・Specs Togekiss breaks all slower walls even Chansey if its HP is lower than 60%. And its great coverage breaks general check such as Nihilego, steel types and Thundy.
・Typical set Slowking. Without saying it brings Togekiss.
・Salamence and Exca are the dual hazard controller. This EV enables mence to outspeed exca. I didn't think outspeeding krook and speed tie are very important. Most pokemons which this salamence switches in are physical attacker so I ran def the rest.
・This Cobalion slot was Nihilego but it was too weak Gyarados mu so I changed. This set seems strange but I needed volt switch to keep utility.
・ Usual Zarude. Checks Aegislash and ground types. U-turn is also good to bring togekiss.

This set should be much more popular. Let's use specs togekiss!

:sirfetchd::slowking::nihilego: :zygarde-10%: :togekiss: :zarude:
This team is centered around Sirfetch'd, who ideally lures fat grasses with Brave Bird for Zygarde. It also provides a revenge killer for stuff like Azelf and Lycanroc, and completely ends Aegislash's career. Slowking provides special sponging, Teleport, and a Celesteela annoyance. Nihilego is to set rocks and punish Moltres and special Salamence, some of the only good switch-ins to Sirfetch'd. Zygarde is our obligatory win-con, and Zarude is the answer to opposing Zygarde, as well as a nice pivot into things Sirfetch'd and Nihilego would want to abuse. And then there's Togekiss, which is why you're all here in the first place; it fills all the remaining necessary roles: it counters Zarude, Tapu Bulu, and Hydreigon, and it has Defog and Thunder Wave speed control.
There's a bit of a weakness to specs Aegislash, but that's hardly the most popular set going around right now, and between Sirfetch'd and Zarude, you should do just fine against Sub+Tox and King's Shield+Swords Dance.

kiss+shaky nihil counterplay but overall a great defensive core
toxic on skarm is mostly for ladder but whirlwind would work just as well if not better in most good MUs (iron defense gets crit by aegi)
megahorn rhyp is a great lure for slowking and works very well with specs volcanion
tang+rhyp+hydrei is more than enough to check thundyt and most pivots
rhyp needs a good MU for the most part to really put in major work but it sets hazards nicely vs many teams and serves as a great mixed wall to shut down setup opportunities from most top threats

Congrats to udongirl for winning and thanks for the submissions! With tier shifts, we have some new teammates to build with, so let's get right to them!

Scizor

The king of UU has returned to rule again! Scizor has one of the best typings in all of Pokemon, with an incredible complement of traits that allows it to succeed in and dominate metagames: Technician-boosted STAB Bullet Punch, STAB U-Turn, reliable recovery in Roost, access to Knock Off, sweeping capabilities thanks to Swords Dance, and an ability to run a ridiculous amount of items viably thanks to being very self-sufficient. Scizor can perform a variety of roles on teams with varying levels of offensive and defensive capabilities as well, depending on what its user requires. Scizor does have a few weaknesses despite these incredible strengths: It's obviously terrified of Fire-type attack, which target Scizor's only weakness; it is a little slow for an offensive Pokemon, so offensive checks that can take a Bullet Punch can threaten it; and it has trouble dealing with Water-types, which can significantly cripple it with Scald and which Scizor has difficulty threatening. These flaws can be mitigated by Scizor's teammates, though, so let's build a great team for Scizor to succeed with!

Teambuilding Restrictions:
  • The team should be built in the Sword and Shield UnderUsed format.
  • The team must include Scizor.
