UU OM Megathread

This is a megathread for the UU variants of all of our permaladder OMs! These UU versions are viability-based, similar to how tiering was done prior to usage-based tiering; that way, if a ladder is too inactive or gets removed for any reason, we don't have skewed stats. Any OM is welcome to make a UU version of their OM, but those will need to be hosted in their individual threads for the time being.​

this team is pretty standard, imma little pissed comfey lost defog but oh well, at least it has knock off. comfey would probably be pretty good in gguu, and muk-a looks so underated.

Made my own uu bh team https://pokepast.es/ab3ea5e3afffc16a blace is probably one of the best mons in the tier on paper given how guzzlord is the best imp mon (astral calcs even easier + improofing doesn’t lie to something gimmicky like fc ting) and most of its typical checks like arc water ho oh pogre yv and maud are gone. Kyub is another strong breaker however it loses to what will probably be an incredibly popular fc in dondozo unless you run bolt strike.

I think you got confused by Indeedee in SP, Indeedee in the usage stats represents the male one, while the female one appear as Indeedee-F, they have different stats and movepools so they are tiered as different pokémon.
Indeedee-M is OU by both usage and viability, while Indeedee-F is UU by both usage and viability.

outside of things like ting over umbreon, the wincons on this team do have a few problems; mtar just isn't improofed and you have to sack something to get registeel in, and even if imp somehow lets you shackle them, you're still losing the interaction because you can't topsy ttar (dark-types are immune to prank-boosted moves). gambit on blace also doesn't really make any sense given the huge HP of its main check, ting-lu, and blace's measly base 53 HP + rocks weakness; stored power on blace also just defeats the entire point in having spooky plate + judgment, which is that imposter users can't damage you. to fix this i would probably make umbreon a ting-lu, remove the ttar altogether for something like koraidon or a take heart arceus, and make blace possibly v-create over stored power.

Made my own uu bh team https://pokepast.es/ab3ea5e3afffc16a blace is probably one of the best mons in the tier on paper given how guzzlord is the best imp mon (astral calcs even easier + improofing doesn’t lie to something gimmicky like fc ting) and most of its typical checks like arc water ho oh pogre yv and maud are gone. Kyub is another strong breaker however it loses to what will probably be an incredibly popular fc in dondozo unless you run bolt strike.

I'm having a good amount of fun playing BHUU this ladder rotation. Laddered with this team to a peak of 1314 (I got a teensy bit higher but only have proof for this high)

Improof Measures

Gyara Self Improofs via trapping. This is a recreation of a killer Kyurem B set from Gen 7 BH.
Sceptile is improofed by Altaria
Altaria is improofed by Metagross
Metagross is improofed by Mence as long as it preserves Cloak
Arc isn't really improofed but isn't an imminent threat. Possible issue
Mence self improofs

Notes

A sorta balance team that thrives on abusing the strength of trapping and farming Guzzlord.
Gyara is quite possibly one of the best legal mons in the tier. As stated earlier this set was based off Kyurem B set I loved using in Gen 7 BH that traps imposter and sets up on it. Very often you can trap non-imposter mons and set up on them.

Scept is just a set I've seen a lot of people run around with and saw it was legal. Strong + My main source of Speed control. If you predict the imposter switch you can blow them up with Dragon Energy

Altaria is here because it's the most solid improof for Scept I could think of. Heavy 4mss syndrome, pick whatever utility you want here.

Metagross is because I LOVE GAMBLING. Very aware this is notverygood but it's fun. Sand fishes for burns. Lucario fits better here but your neutral to fairy and that's bad when most the team is weak to it

Arc is utility and my sole knocker to allow Metagross to do it's job. Sap blocker. Prank + Topsy Turvy/Haze might work better here. Fire to resist fairy, poison and dark are other options

Mence is an unconventional to say the least unaware improof to Metagross. This was supposed to be Yveltal but he's not legal. Self improofs and is occasionally serves as a standard unaware wall. Could also be something like Ting-Lu or even Mega Ttar instead if you don't have to worry about improofing the Gross.

Issues

1. Speed control is icky
2. Mence is not the most reliable form of set up control in the world
3. Metagross has you praying for 60% chances
4. No pivot moves so maintaining momentum feels difficult at times
5. Less knockers than I'd like
6. Fairy types are annoying but there isn't too many good ones legal rn
7. There's probably a dozen possible threats like Galvanize Zekrom that run me over that I simply am unaware of atm

Anyways I'm having fun with the tier right now and there's no issues with the meta (at least that aren't also present in standard BH) that I can gleam. I hope that my little drabble can inspire others with their adventures in the tier!

Strong picks overall, swampert m lower bulk might find a home where breakers are softer and Blacephalon is meta, arc water can scales for blace similarly and has an overall decent defensive type and lower amounts of sapblock/imp is a very good meta change for it, great defensive mon to handle stuff like kyub, dialga O provides an interesting mortal spin blocker and doom desire might fit well with popular breakers like mega sceptile, palkia o, and gardevoir M.
Loss:
Fine exit, mold could be extremely difficult to check when it’s faster then arceus, didn’t really need it, nothing much to say other then kyub on top now.
