Why has no one mentioned Muddy Water? It has the power of Surf and the chance of a special effect of Scald. Its only downside is its accuracy, but it's only as accurate as Fire Blast, and the special effect is worth it, if it happens. Even if it doesn't, it has the power of Surf!
Muddy Water has lower PP than Surf, and its secondary effect is less reliable considering it only happens 25.5% of the time dues to its 85% acc, plus that accuracy drop is only one stage which is just inferior when compared to Boiling water's chance of burn, which cuts the opponents Atk in half.
In general, Vaporeon likes the accuracy of Surf/Boiling Water because you don't want to be sitting there and giving your opp a free setup turn 25% of the time, and the burn chance from Boiling Water is just too good compared to the 10% accuracy drop(I may be wrong about how much acc is lowered at -1).

+0 is 3/3, -1 is 3/4 = 75% of the original Accuracy.

exactly. the accuracy drop is pretty useless when you compare to the burn too: physical atackers are useless when burned(bar guts users) and most special atacks wont do any significant damage against vaporeon(Bar t-bolt which you should not be taking in the first place). i pick B-water over muddy water(and surf for the matter) any day.
So, which move on the Wish set in the OP should be sacrificed for Acid Armor?
Agreed. Acid Armor hasn't been testing too well for me. The opponent always sets up on me whenever I use it. In my opinion it isn't worth it simply because of scald. The other moves on its typical set are absolutely necessary
I believe it no longer can, trapping moves can no longer be passed (ones like Mean Look), so if Whirlpool ever could I presume it can no longer.
Currently illegal, and worse than Water Absorb unless you're running a rain team.
Water Absorb Vaporeon is the way to go if you're not running a Rain team.
Hidden Power Electric for Gyarados mainly is an option.
The usual Toxic works, as Vaporeon can Wish+Protect stall and thus run Surf over Scald. Most Gyara are Dragon Tail variants these days what with Excadrill outrunning it and Ferrothorn downright walling it, so HP Electric is less of a necessity.
Just wanted to make a celebratory bump by saying that Wish is now legal on Hydration Vaporeon!
Not just Wish. With the advent of female DW Eevees, ALL of Eevee's egg moves are now legal on Hydration Vaporeon.
Hydration Vaporeon with wish would be useful for Drizzle teams to provide healing for those members without reliable instant recovery moves, like Ferrothorn, Thunderus and Politoed itself.

I'm not seeing it. wouldn't your Vappy just get roared away?
