Excellent Mamoswine check. Aggron-mega can do a free switch to all of Mamoswine's moves , as he resists very much and safely to Icicle spear , Freeze dry and Ice shard . Thanks to Filter he resists good also to Earthquake , which it will be always 3HKO if not in the worst case scenario. He is not a counter because he cannot always stop mamoswine in the worst case scenario , like when there are Stealth rocks , 3 layers of spikes and Aggron mega is Burned/Paralyzed. Can guarantee an OHKO with Iron head after Stealth Rock and a 10% reduction of Mamoswine's health due to Life Orb. He can recover his health with Rest and counterattack probably with Sleep Talk --> Iron Head , while in the meantime Mamoswine is reducing his health with the Life Orb recoil.

Rare , but still possibleYou can call this a counter pretty easily because Stealth Rock and 3 layers of Spikes and Aggron being statused is an unlikely scenario and Spikes are kind of are kind of rare this days.
Iron Head is stronger on everything heavier than Venusaur. And Mamoswine is heavier than VenusaurJS but heavy slam aggron is almost always better than iron head imo, yeah but mega aggron should be counted as a counter.

The combination of Will-O-Wisp and Taunt allows it to effective stallbreak as well as countering Mamoswine. Also, since standard Mamos don't usually see rock type moves, it can effectively take on a plethora of threats and come out alive of this one.

Taunt on Mega Gyara is great because it allows it to outspeed Jolly Mamo and prevent standard sash sets from setting up rocks. Waterfall is great stab and can take Mamo down to it's sash if it is packing it.

Defensive Mega Aerodactyl resists Return and is immune to Earthquake, so it takes tiny damage from Diggersby's entire move set. Aqua Tail does a minimum of 89.1% damage, with a 31% chance to OHKO cleanly, and even if it doesn't, residual damage or a 2nd attack will take out Diggersby (simply a round of Life Orb recoil boosts the KO chance to 84%, good enough for me). Another way to guarantee the KO is just run 152 or more attack EVs.
Other uses for defensive Mega Aerodactyl, if you aren't familiar with the set, are switching into all of birdspam, basically being the biggest f*you to birdspam available in ou. It can also switch into Landorus and Charizard Y, and provided you can find time to Roost, counters them. Wing Attack lets it revenge Mega Heracross and Mega Medicham who may a pain for your stall team, while Taunt lets it slowly whittle through bulkier walls like Chansey and Hippowdon. Meanwhile high speed and varied coverage can let it clean up a few weakened offensive teams.
Honestly offensive Mega Aero does fine too, it just is a bit riskier if you don't OHKO.
