Is Vivillon even viable in OU? A lot of other threads got closed for that very reason, yet this one remains... If I wanted to use Quiver Dance + Sleep Powder, I'd rather use Venomoth; its typing isn't as terrible and has Tinted Lens to lessen the need for coverage!

edit: seems Venomoth was already highlighted, well now. lol

Compound eyes + sleep powder makes it almost as accurate as spore, and after 1 quiver dance, hurricane will leave dents craters in things that dont resist it and that 30% confusion rate is the icing on the cake (at 91 accuracy too).

Amazing pokemon, really underrated. Swept many OU teams with it, including one that had a Heatran on it. As long as SR arent up this guy always does work. Plus Icy Snow pattern looks sick

It is really good being able to abuse the focus sash then go sleep powder quiver dance hurricain i was thinking of playing HP fire over bug buzz

So, I've been running vivi as a lead on my mono flying and bug teams, and I gotta say, WOW! For starters: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-100450975
In this replay, vivillon as a lead destroys two pokemon on my opponents team (one through a pseudo-paraswag, sorry) and cripples two more of his pokemon, leaving him with only 2 useful pokes.

I run this set, but I have yet to try out any other, because I am most often reduced to my sash and he acts as my lead:

Vivillon @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Hurricane
- Sleep Powder
- Stun Spore

I don't like HP fire though. I ran it because of the common ferro/forre leads, but it's only a 3hko on ferro. I might just put bug buzz back to make IVs easier if I decide to make this in my pokemon Y.

More replays starring vivi:
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-100375072 I should have hurricaned the talonflame
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-100445523 I should have put the smeargle to sleep, but then I might not have paralyzed the gliscor. People don't protect their gliscor first turn when they see vivi come out first lol

252 SpA Vivillon Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Forretress: 312-368 (88.1 - 103.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

I've probably been facing +Def, 252 Hp/48 Def/208 SpD, as I have run before:

252 SpA (custom) Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Ferrothorn: 152-180 (43.18 - 51.13%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Vivillion has had the time to prove its worth and it didn't, becoming a completely irrelevant Pokemon in OU. Locking.
