What has Smogon done for you?

I would like to thank smogon for showing me the "real man's rules" such as double team is bad and ohko's are bad. before hand, i loved to be a cheap beeotch and use DT. Smogon has made me a better trainer because of this.
 
It's taught me how serious pokemon is to some people and how they need to lighten up, and how obesity is sorta funny.

But everyone's still cool.
 
Oh god, pojo. I used to mod that site for several years. Believe it or not pojo was a good forum when it first started out, (I was there from the start, back when it was strictly pokemon and nothing else) and I stuck around hoping that it would revert back. But it didn't so I don't post there any more.

Smogon hasn't done anything for me yet because I just got here. But so far it seems like a very thoughtful forum.

Actually, I changed my mind about smogon not doing anything for me. The people in the art forum are actually interested in my art, and that does something for me.
 
I'd like to thank Smogon and it's community for helping me build a decent Pokemon team.
And thanks for such awesome Pokemon analysis's
 
In addition to eating up all my free time, Smogon has given me a better insight into competitive pokemon battling and for that, I love smogon!
 
I like, actually understand stuff now... lol.

I came to this site as a guy who trained exclusively on the E4.

Smogon, unlike other sites such as gamefaqs, has provided a place for me where the deeper Pokemon game can be discussed and dissected intellectually while doing its best to weed out trolls and idiots. WHo says the competitive metagame isn't fun?
 
smogon gave me something to do with my life, and i found other people that cared about ivs here and not some people offering up shinies
 
Granted me a group of friends I feel I belong with, a site I am attached to, some great times definitely and probably is responsible for way too much time spent online and for my prolonged year off from work in which I spent a portion online, too lazy to look for a new job.

i came to smogon as a guy who did not care about EVs, IVs and the like. i've grown pretty competitive in the time ive been here.

*bows to the smogon site**thinks: "I hope it gets back up soon!"*

Well, i have to thank Smogon for all the non-asked advice in terms of movesets for Diamond and Pearl,not to mention this was the place i crawled when the game was new(or was still speculation), because it was a good place to debate about it (not like "other" forums).

Because you guys are good on this, and i love to read your analysis, thank you smogon <3.
 
Smogon has helped me hone my competitive edge with Pokemon and I pass on the info to my good friends so they don't get owned by me ^_^

I think this place, even though I just joined, has made me slightly cautious about posting. Yet it gives me something to do over summer :D
 
It gave me a server that I could go to regularly, before Smogon I was just bouncing around random servers and not getting to know anyone. I would also like to thank Smogon for making me a somewhat good battler.
 
I've just joined, and Smogon's already done a lot for me. First, it's provided great D/P analyses on which I've used as guidelines for my Wi-Fi battling Pokemon. They explain to me how to use certain Pokemon and can be credited for a lot of my wins. They've also provided, and I assume will continue to provide, a good place to visit, especially while bored, as I love the sense of humour some have on here. Always makes me chuckle, whether it be someone's sig, a D/P warstory, or Mekkah's Luvdisc D/P analysis.

For starters, smogon's forum is almost always up unlike some other place I won't mention, it's D/P Analysis is my top resource for desireable movesets, and have done most of my serious trading here.
 
Become my primary forum after serebii... its just full of idiots and noobs that annoy me to high heaven, and I know a lot of others think that way. I rarely post there anymore.

My time here has just made me better at pokemon competitively, I think the lurking did me good :]
 
In some weird fit I visited #smogon again this week after an absence of 2+ years, and those fuckers persuaded me to buy one of the new versions. I'm actually having fun too. Knowing myself, I'll still be playing the infernal game until well after my internships...

Seriously, Pokémon is like herpes :(

Next time I turn on the DS, I'll be wearing condoms over my fingers.

Smogon has taught me so much about Pokemon that I don't know where to begin to explain. So I won't. >_>

I'm glad I found myself here. O_o
 
Even in my short amount of time here Smogon has taught me so much. It has shown me music I would never have listened to and it has help me become a better person by increasing my social skill. Hell it even helped me make some friends at school that play Pokemon even if they are newbs.
 
Smogon has given me a good trading board (much better than any of the others I've seen), and a very good understanding of truly competitive play.
