this team features an interesting Lanturn set with Whirlpool. it traps annoying mons like Scyther, making it easier for Mushy to sweep / BP into Sceptile. the team is supported not only by Lanturn, but also by AV Hitmonchan, which gets loads of opportunities to spin, even more than the Lum Berry / Fist Plate / CB sets. Taunt Steelix is an interesting last move, luring mons like Ferroseed which can't do anything to it after getting Taunted.

Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost

I never normally use this mon but it's obviously a good fit for this team. It provides another strong check to physical attackers, a key Ground-type immunity for Lanturn, a backup win condition, and some more fast offense to complement Sceptile, while also having good defensive synergy with Lanturn and Steelix. Meanwhile, it highly appreciates AV Hitmonchan providing reliable spin support and breaking down Flying-type checks with a powerful Close Combat, and even a CM pass from Musharna, as the extra Special Defense can make it hard to break from both sides.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sludge Bomb
- Taunt
- Pain Split

Oh yeah, this is definitely pokemon that patches weaknesses here, gives a ground immunity,Steelix switchin, Barbaracle check/Rhydon check , checks Sceptile and grass types like Shiftry/Lilligant which is very important for this team and also deals with Malamar 1v1 which this team cant do after a boost or few, pokemon i use a lot on my teams, and pain split is here over flamethrower because you beat things like klinklang with steelix already, also not to get wore down by things like sceptile easily.Moveset variations from Sludge Bomb to Clear Smog/Haze ,and Fthrower over Taunt can be ran, but I prefer original set most of the times.

the team is built around SD + 3 atks Combusken + Scarf Abomasnow, something that's really uncommon but very nice indeed! Steelix is the standard bulky ground-type on the team, walling most Psychics, and Lanturn does a good job at dealing with fast Fire and Water-types. Xatu pressures most Rockers and is overall a great pivot, chipping away at physical attackers with Rocky Helmet too.
Combusken @ Eviolite

Ahhh some nostalgia! Weezing gives this team a solid backup Fighting check (since Xatu isnt holding colbur) and a solid Malamar check since only a +2 Busken can stop a Malamar thats been given free setup and its still a shaky check due to Superpower boosts. Also Weezing can taunt hazard setters that Xatu cant beat 1 v 1 such as Pilo/Rhydon etc. Also Toxic Spikes can work well wearing down the opponents team with Abomas Hail and Busken protecting on things, however you can run Pain Split for longevity. Also running Toxic Spikes could free up support options on Lix/Lanturn such as Roar/Stone Edge/Thunder Fang on Lix or Twave/Filler on Lanturn.

Weezing @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 140 Def / 120 Spe
Bold Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Toxic Spikes/Pain Split

garbodor.gif

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch

-Now,this team is definitely leading to more defensive style, and with SD Combusken/Scarf Abomasnow theres nothing really that can punch holes in opposing teams right away, defensive core is really solid but pivot Xatu lacks set up so its not very threatening overall. With Garbodor added, team gets another fighting resists, grass check but also a way to slowly weaken opposing team with Spikes, which this team really lacks during the game,Combusken and Aboma start to pressure opposing team and being really threatening together, giving abomasnow opportunity for late game clean.

Audino @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Healing Wish
- Fire Blast
- Thunder Wave/Surf

Honestly, this team is really fat, so I figured, "why not super size?" This Mega Dino set can serve as a nice offensive/defensive pivot to help add on the pressure. Healing Wish is for a second shot at sweeping with Combusken and thunder wave is for more pressure. And honestly, Xatu + Mega Dino are an obnoxious duo that will give the opponent 50/50s to worry about. And it's nice to have a regenerator mon with healing wish to fall back on in case xatu fails at keeping hazards away. You could also run Surf for Rhydon as it can give this team a bit of trouble if it gets a chance to set up a rock polish.

200.png

Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Timid Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Foul Play
- Pain Split

"Standard" (nobody uses this thing) Misdreavus is a super interesting last mon for this squad. With only one Fighting and Normal resist (Xatu and Steelix respectively), pokemon such as Tauros and Hitmonchan who have an easier time breaking through traditional checks and counters really give this team trouble. Misdreavus helps out a lot here by adding an additional check to Fighting and Normal types, alleviating the pressure and role compression on other members of the team. Misdreavus also spin blocks for the team, which is helpful due to it's slightly more defensive nature. Lastly, Misdreavus works as a pretty solid stall breaker, and can prevent hazards with Taunt, which are both really useful capabilities for this team.

Well since the good poison types have already been taken I guess I'll toss up an idea for something a little more unconventional!
golurk.gif

Golurk @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Shadow Punch

Rock Polish Golurk is a really cool pokemon that a lot of teams are underprepared for in my opinion. SD Combusken and Scarf Abomasnow work well to punch holes in the opponents team and Golurk really appreciates that. Also adds a nice additional check to Fighting and Normal types (I really dislike having non-colbur xatu as the only fighting check tbh).
