Social Where is your nick from?

That’s an awesome story! Infernape really is a legend, love that your name came from a battle moment like that. My nick’s actually from way back when I made my first gaming account; I just mashed up a few random words that sounded cool and it stuck ever since . Funny how these names end up becoming part of us over time!
 
My name has always been Hisoka in every game i played even my first email in 2006 had Hisoka in it, and the first Pokemon game i played was PRO "Pokemon revolutions online" and my name there is Hisoka007 ~ and when i joined smogon with this account i wanted to keep the same identity but i didn't like the 007 part, i wanted a short name, since i couldn't take just Hisoka at that moment i shorted it to Hsk7 ♦ ♣
 
The name “bdt2002” was my original Nintendo Network login, which in turn extended into my Miiverse account. Yeah. Bet you didn’t expect to hear that name again. I’ve always been incredibly indecisive, and at the ripe age of 12 years old, the only thing I could think of off the top of my head was mashing together my initials and my birth year. Around a year or two later, I started experimenting with other online nicknames and username ideas, including a phase where Giratina of all Pokémon quickly rose (and just as quickly fell back down afterwards) through my rankings, but I’ve been told that the bdt2002 “identity”, so to speak, has some older nostalgic charm to it at this point where most of my other nicknames I’ve experimented with either didn’t turn into anything or I wasn’t a big enough fan of the idea to stick with it for the long term.

From the middle of 2019 to the middle of 2025, I also ran a second nickname elsewhere on occasion and even briefly considered asking Smogon if I could change my username to. The bdt2002 username briefly became interchangeable with the “Epic Espeon” identity honoring the borderline historical odds behind the most memorable moment I’ve ever had as a Pokémon fan back in 2019, but I have since abandoned the nickname following very rough stretches of time during 2025 relating to both Pokémon and the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as Pokémon Legends Z-A that were… not some of my finer posting moments on this site.
 
when i was 11 or so i was super obsessed with the epic battle fantasy series of flash games so i named myself after natalie the player character, but i didn't wanna look like too much of a ripoff so i changed the last letter only to find out several months later that its also a common name
