Whimsicott

^ Umm, so?

Exactly. You have priority on all of your attacks. As I said, speed doesn't matter with Whimsicott.

A legitimate danger would be something like Conkeldurr or Scizor, though; they're strong attackers that are slower and have priority, so they could catch Whimsicott in Trick Room. But in all honesty, I don't see much else for him to fear, and surely his team is capable of taking care of such common threats and also has another slower Pokémon that also sets up Trick Room in these situations.

I was toying around with the idea of Worry Seed Whimsy. While the uses are limited you now can stop an excadrill sweep, can effectively leech seed gliscor without any risks. I was considering a set of sub, worry seed, leech seed, and hp fire or cotton guard. Hp fire if you're running a sun team, obviously. It also can stop Thundurus from throwing out prankster thunder waves and can stop that damn liquid ooze tenta from ruining your fun.

Just thought I'd throw that out there

The standard set is Stun Spore or Taunt/Encore/Leech Seed/Substitute or U-Turn. Where would worry seed go? I'm totally for it--it's awesome! Reuniclus might not necessarily die, but he isn't going to be setting up anything. Scizor's precious bullet bunch loses some of its bite. And if Chandelure ever gets its shadow tag, we have a sorta out...

I was saying run a set of:
Whimsicott @ leftovers
Standard ev's and nature
Worry seed
Leech seed
Sub
HP fire / cotton guard

Obviously run hp fire on sun teams and if you don't fear taunt run cotton guard. I'll play around with this tonight some more

^ You should always have encore on Whimsicott, it's the only reason why player think twice about setting up a stat boosting move.

I actually ran a Whimsy to great effect that didn't use Encore, the ability to bluff Encore is a great thing. I ran Cotton Guard / Substitute / Leech Seed / HP Fire with a Calm nature and Special Defensive EVs and that would completely force people to either quit or watch all their pokemon die to Leech Seed and HP Fire. Though to be fair this was on a sun team with boosted HP Fire, but HP fire nonetheless. Encore is a great move, but you don't need to limit yourself to using it on a Whimsy, especially when it has so many great options to abuse with Prankster.

In fact, I'm finding that people predict Encore so well that it might even be more beneficial to run another move. The ability to bluff it is enough sometimes.

I have been using trick room whimsicott to great effect. It provides so many opportunities to set up TR. Usually what happens is that I encore a subber or booster, trick room, and then switch out to my TR users. Absolutely no other Pokemon can cripple an opposing sweeper and then set up my entire team while getting switch advantage.

Lovrina, you shouldn't bother with offensive Whimsicott. It's weak, even after Specs, and is outclassed by other Grass-types.

If you want to use attacking moves on Cott, maybe try a mixey kinda set?

Fluffball @ Leftovers
Modest
Prankster
252 HP / 248 SpA / 8 Spe

Giga Drain
HP Fire / U-turn
Encore
filler

*shrug*

You could run taunt or Stun Spore in the last slot. I find that both of those moves make SubSeeding a ridiculously good strategy for Whimsi. Of course that might just be the way I play though. And I have never actually seen encore used effectively on Whimsi.

IMO, poison heal breloom is probably the best counter to this thing (AFTER he's been poisoned). The only thing he really needs to fear is HP fire/HP ice, which won't do that much damage anyways...

Unless you're using offensive Gliscor, keep in mind it can't touch Whimsicott either is it carries subseed. You can easily outstall defensive scorpios' Ice Fang with leech seed, sub, and lefties.

Who can easily outstall him?? Breloom or whim?? I'm assuming you mean breloom as whimsicott can't really damage gliscor at all (except from leech seed).

You can use Worry Seed to literally force Gliscor's most standard set to work against him. Worry Seed Whimsy is really good I suggest everyone try it out. I promise I'm not lying.
