World Cup starts later on today, So I guess I better make my predictions

Group A
South Africa
Mexico

Toughest group to call in my opinion, Don't fancy either France or Uruguay, Reckon South African home support will win the group for them

Groub B
Argentina
Nigeria

Even though Argy had a poor qualifying campaign, you cannot deny the talent they have in their team. Between Greece and Nigeria for second place, Nigeria will take it due to enviroment advantage.

Group C
England
USA

England are overrated but they'll win the group, think USA could have them the first game, but I reckon USA will drop points against Slovakia and Algeria, where as England are used to playing weaker opponents.

Group D
Serbia
Australia

Serbia are a very tough team to beat and will cruise the group. I'm supporting Australia so I need them to go through.

Group E
Holland
Denmark

The current UWCC (Unofficial World Cup Champions) will maintain there unbeaten run, Close call between Japan and Denmark but I reckon Denmark may just edge them out.

Group F
Italy
Paraguay

Slovakia and NZ can't stand up to those two

Group G
Brazil
Ivory Coast

Don't think Portugal can overcome Ivory Coast. Just a feeling.

Group H
Spain
Chilie

Spain will also maintain there unbeaten run, although I think Chilie will give them a close call

South Africa V Nigeria
England
V Australia
Argentina V Mexico
Serbia V USA
Holland V Paraguay
Brazil V Chilie
Italy V Denmark
Spain V Chilie

Holland V Brazil
Nigeria V England
Argentina V Serbia
Italy V Spain

Serbia V Spain
Brazil
V England

Serbia V England
Brazil V Spain

For all those that are arguing that England are going to win, this is one of the weakest England teams in a long time, and they'll get to the Semi's because they have an easy path through it.

Anyways, I'm buying an Australia shirt, however I want something funny on the back, Last week I drew France in the sweepstakes and so bought a France shirt with the word "Le Baguette" on the back, I'm looking for something similar but I can't think of anything. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I stand by my choices in page two, so for results tomorrow:

South Africa 0-2 Mexico. Heh it's only difficult because South Africa is the home team, it's their world cup and it's the opening, still i will bet for my team xP.

Uruguay 2-1 France.

Dont forget the president of FIFA would be "delighted" to see South Africa advance, and how they won vs Guatemala really makes it look "u_u". I would be careful about the refs as well.

Looking forward to this now, I hope South Africa can get something out of this first match.

Wow that was a fantastic start to the world cup. The first half was pretty boring but the second was amazing; and what a goal from Tshabalala.

SA's defense was shaky throughout parts of the game but I think they played decently today, and am hopeful they can progress.

Edge of my seat in that 90' when Mphela got that shot off and I still can't believe it got post, haha. I missed about 20 minutes of the second half (the part when Mexico scored) so I can't say much about that, but when I left South Africa was playing like a whole new team offensively and I was hoping they'd get a second one while I was gone. Oh well, though, I can only hope they play hard offensively in their next matches. Rooting for South Africa!

Couldn't agree more with La Vida Loca, this was a perfect opening. Though Mexico's goal came out of the blue, they deserved the tie, for their performance in the first half.

To be fair to South Africa, they've deserved the win for their second half performance. Did you see the final minute shot which hit the woodwork?

Awesome awesome match. I have a feeling the World Cup is seriously going to affect my exam results because I don't want to miss a single one of these matches.

Also prediction was correct! gwa

I was really hoping South Africa would win this one. It did look promising at first, then Mexico neutralized it. When it looked like they will regain the lead in the last few minutes, the ball bounced off the goalpost. Just a few centimetres!!! Damn! I hope South Africa at least makes it to the Round of 16, otherwise it would be really embarassing to lose in their homeland, where they get a lot of moral support.

P.S: I was never really a soccer fan, but I guess the World Cup will be an exception, hey, it only comes once every 4 years.

-_- all i get to watch is france uruguay. the other two are located on one channel that is a premium channel. fuck you, directv.

Great Game, Now New Zealand just need to beat Italy and my week wll be perfect
I do not want Azzuri to lose since I like their musicians. But considering the fact that New Zealand actually defeated Serbia, they can beat any team other than England.

We've won the cup many times, and the national team's on a roll. But hey, tbh i've never followed mexico before, so i dont know how good they are, just tnat italy certainly is

hinthint: We beat your mighty squad a week ago, quite the roll they are on.

Plus this Italy looks very weak compared to the one last WC, most of his good players are now very weak due to their age, Pirlo is injured and they have quite a bad offense to be honest.

If anything I wouldnt put Italy to get past 8ths.

Jesus christ I swear to god we had so many chances to beat South Africa if the fowards didn't take so long to get to where they were supposed to be, nevertheless

VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!!!

huh. Guess i got mixed up with germany, the other team i'm supporting. I had no idea italy was beaten by mexico tbh, never even knew they played eachother. In that case, i'll have to agree with you...
