Jolly exca is a thing now? The hell
I thought it had -7 priority without Roar. My point was, as you said, it still will come after Xerneas punishes you, forcing you to carry a Sash, and even then, Riolu is kind of silly in Ubers.

I wasn't using Jolly. No one here thought of Excadrill as a threat so I'm assuming everyone was going to use enough Speed EVs to outspeed Choice Scarf Terrakion. The absolute minimum amount of Speed EVs used to outspeed Adamant Excadrill is 176. However you're now OHKOed by Scizor's Bullet Punch as you don't have enough Defense EVs to take the attack. And you still can't stop Aegislash.
But in reality I would rather take the 10% hit to damage if I had the opportunity of stopping a very potent sweeper.
Maybe a 152 Def/170 SpA/176 Spe would be viable, if you don't want to be beaten by CB Scizor or Adamant Excadrill but you might give up important OHKOs on other pokemon and leave yourself vulnerable through that. It seems specific investment (almost always Assault Vest) is needed to stop Xerneas and even then stuff like Poison Arceus cannot neutralize it if it is brought out as the last pokemon.
Just when comparing to Ekiller arceus, it may be noted that Arceus now will be most likely running bulkier sets with only 2 attacks, cause steel no longer resists ghost, and leave the final slot to recover, sub etc.
Although itself a rare case with little practical significance, it's interesting to note that GeokillerX can't easily win 1vs.1 against 252HP Arceus.

Jolly Excadrill still OHKOs Xerneas. Yeah you're running one nature to stop one Pokemon but this isn't Gen V metagame.

iirc +2 itemless adamant Ekiller does only 70% to 152def X.
Excadrill has STAB Iron Head and higher base attack, and could also easily end up using a boosting item, so it theoretically should be able to get the KO. But then there's always the possibility of Xerneas running Timid on a team stacking hazards or something and just outrunning and OHKOing you.
Mega Scizor, Aegislash, and Assault Vest Metagross are great counters to any Xerneas. The first avoids the 2HKO from any of its moves, sets up SD, and OHKOes with Bullet Punch. Mega Scizor also has Roost. Assault Vest Metagross avoids the 2HKO too, and either OHKOes back with Meteor Mash or finishes off with Bullet Punch the next turn. Aegislash avoids the 2HKO from any of Xerneas's moves with the right investment (unless i am forgetting something) and 2HKOes back with Iron Head + Shadow Sneak.
Guys can we keep some of these checks realistic please? I know you're all dying to use Metagross day 1 but realistically you're gonna ditch it as it's simply not that useful. All these Steels simply don't like boosted Water and Fire type attacks that run around Ubers (and gl running Sand Rush Excadrill lol)
Seriously. Not too many things can tank a geomanced moon blast. And if I'm not mistaken, his type alone nullifies MANY things in ubers. (the dragons)

the most SpDef shields in Ubers r just weak to fairy type

chansey is 2HKO with geomanced focus blast , and afraid to substitude
if xerneas could learn earth power in pokemon Z , it will be really unstoppable LOL
More Xerneases?
Aside from the obvious "use geomancy then sweep" tactic, you can also use choice specs with moonblast.
As the opponent will expect at least one free turn while Xerneas uses Geomancy they will be unprepared for a turn 1 attack. even though you will not get the +2 attack boost, you will still get the equivelent of +1 boost and let's not forget the massive amount of power offered by both STAB and Fairy aura

I was wondering about the same thing. Idk to be honest, but I'm thinking of ExtremeKiller Arceus + Xerneas.

That would be effective for sure, but it doesn't have really good sinergy.
I think fire-type users would pair well. Reshiram is also a special attacker, so not interesting. Heatran isn't powerful enough. Blaziken doesn't take well priority moves. So what's left ? Ho-oh ? Talonflame (lol ?) ?
maybe mega gengar, with it's ridiculous speed stat, could stand a chance at OHKOing Xerneas with sludge bomb. It would also be fully resistant to espeed thereby acting as a viable counter for both of those sweepers. i guess it depends on which is faster; unboosted Xerneas or Gengar?
it is possible to use a physical deyoxys-A, I found that one (surprisingly) good move he could use was grass knot, as it usually got a OHKO on kyogre and groudon. (it is SE on both and they are extremely heavy) Deyoxys also has a decent physical movepool with a few fire moves to kill steel threats
also, victini's STABs are supereffective vs BOTH of Xerneas' weaknesses and has a fairly decent movepool, including the most powerful non-sacrificial move in the game
